I feel sorry for the dub because Zach Aguillar, Ray Chase, and whoever they cast as Gyutaro, and Daki will have to match THIS high bar.
In the manga Tengen vs Gyutato was a typical demon slayer fight. It was nothing special but ufotable made it so good that it is one of the best new gen fights ever. Now think about how Upper Moon 1 fight is gonna look like 😳

Tengen Uzui with the sigma male grind set, an absolute testosterone-filled Giga chad of a man
Mans deserved his retirement. I bet when he and his wives got home, the night was INCREDIBLE.

Personally, I still like episode 19 because of the conflict of what family means to Tanjirou vs Rui and the introduction of Hinokami Kagura. But I’d have to be lying if this didn’t come really close. Gyutaro taunting Tanjirou and the sibling bond between him and Daki really hit me. Also, the animation was as good, if not better, and it lasted the whole episode. I was especially impressed with the fire in the foreground before the fight restarts. Overall, it’s easily the best animated episode so far but it’s a little underwhelming in the emotional department when compared to episode 19 and the Akaza fight.
@@reesespieces5386 I'd say where it lacks in the emotional department it more thank makes up for it in the stakes department. Stress levels were at their peak thinking all 4 could die if they're not successful. We've also never seen this extent of teamwork to take down a demon before. But I see what you mean

The way the sibling relationship of the 2 duos were shown, comparing the circumstances and how different it could have been if Tanjiro also became a demon. As well as how Nezuko saves Tanjiro through his sub consciousness every time he is near death is quite up there. But, is second to ep 19 of S1. What this episode does is pumps your adrenaline to the max, and that's flamboyant if you ask me.

That scene when Uzui talks to Rengoku is anime-original, it never happened in the manga. He was positive because of his own character and because that's his own personality, he wants to overcome his dark and brutal past. Not everything is about Rengoku, dude.
The animation was God-tier , no words. This episode really showed how powerful is Uzui. If he wasn't poisoned at the beginning of battle , the outcome would have been different. Zenitsu was like freaking Flash. And Tanjiro's transformation was jaw dropping. 11/10 best episode so far from Demon Slayer.

But compared to the others he's got less screen presence, it's obvious since he's severely injured. But this episode has everything, every Characters special moves and their collective effort in taking down the upper six siblings.
The clash between Uzui Tengen and Gyutaro was the best insane hell of a match. Their breathtaking exchanging of parries and strikes really makes you had a goosebumps and jaw dropping experience you had never felt before. The Demon Slayer anime never ceased to amazed the fans and bringing their excitement to a whole new level. This anime definitely deserved a highest praising for it's remarkable masterpiece.

In the manga, red ligh district arc can be considered the last best arc. Uzui and Gyutaro is the most intense fight so far.
You should see how fucking crazy it looked in the theater. They're doing theatrical cuts here in Japan. It was insane.
@@fc02752 Ufotable always finds a way to make fights look more epic than they are so I'm still getting my hopes up. Case in point, red light district arc wasn't even this epic in the manga. There's just something about sword clashing that really separates anime form manga.
The fight is more impressive in retrospect considering that Tengen didn't match an Upper Moon through the usual power-up like the Mark or reaching Highest Realm, he literally went technical with the Time Signature of Gyutaro's movement and just hit every note like a beat-saber game, WITH ONE HAND. Imagine being Gyutaro, being the first Upper Moon to be toppled in over a century because a ninja made a diss track of his movement pattern and tipped the scales against him.

If you wanna better understand it, tengen uses gyutaros moves as a song, as there are spaces between each attack, like spaces between each note in a song. He uses that to deflect it and turn the blood sickles into a song

one of my favorite things, I think a lot of people dont realize or overlook, is that at the 0:28 mark, that is the first time we hear Uzui's theme song in all its full glory and potential. The first time we get a hint of his theme is back in Episode 1 when he was introducing himself to Tanjiro while holding Aoi, you can hear a quiet version of it in the background. The next one is when he came down to the food hoard of Daki and saving his wives and Inosuke and Zenitsu. But now here, we hear his theme with nothing held back, adding a choir in there, it sends chills down my spine every time. Its similar to Rengoku's theme actually, we hear his theme at its best potential and glory during his ninth form, but we hear little snippets of it during the early segments of the Mugen Train arc. I love it when music tells the story too.
The fast back and forth between tengen and gyotaro was mesmerizing Their screams and the overly satisfying sound of their weapons clashing with each other was unreal i was speechless during the entire episode..for me it was the best demon slayer episode so far

tengen going off made me tear up man because he's insecure and doesnt kno his true talents he doesnt kno how cool he is man. he believed in himself in the final moments for the boys and rengoku putting the demon slayer episode on the map AGAIN!
He might lack talent but he sure made up for it with his intense training and all that hardwork paid off! He is one of my favorite hashiras although not being the strongest.

Favorite part of watching this fight and listening to this song is realizing that Uzui's best power is literally hearing the tempo of an enemy's motion and stepping accordingly. What's even better is that the reason it takes Uzui a moment to figure the enemy out (other than needing time to work the power, as stated) has everything to do with *what* he learns. The "filthy score" Uzui references is a 5-4 beat. If one goes by the belief that music theory is true, that rhythm informs all motion in life, and that song's power is influencing in the motion and flow of life, then Gyutoro fights at an abnormal, slightly erratic pace that can be difficult to counter conventionally. Hey, how about that awesome battle between the Slayers and Upper 6? Whoever wrote the music for this fight is a master of their class.
Uzui Sama's character made a flashy and flamboyant comeback. Excellent job 👏 👍 👌 by the anime artists 🎨 for setting higher standards for Demon Slayer so far.

3:33 is my favorite part because the score changes and seems like a loss for the tengen squad then changes again to show determination and that they will win this battle no matter what. A very underrated part of the OST.

Because that's the part where Zenitsu was slowing down and about to get killed by Daki and Inosuke showed up and to help him finish her off

Gyutaro really thought Tengen was trying to win the fight, but he was really analysing his opponent's attacks and trying to perfect his musical score. When he did, Gyutaro's reign went downhill from there.
Genius, he was just trying to hang on til his musical technique was done but since it was an upper moon it took time.

@Reginald the crab I mean realistically speaking, I highly doubt tengen planned for his hand to be cut off. He was being massively overwhelmed and it took the whole team to get it done. Tengen's musical score definitely helped seal the deal tho.

Well, both the manga readers and anime watchers have a point on this. Even if Uzui is the weakest Hashira, he still was one of the strongest Demon Slayers. This does set the level of a Hashira for the audience.

@@slattical6072 yes it is. Tengen aspires to be like him. Reliable and strong. This fight is Tengen trying to be like him in protecting the three under his wing. Saving them like Rengoku did. They both very much think alike in many ways. And Tengen loves and respects him.
It took me longer than I'd like to admit when I realized that Tengen's weapons are like nunchaku/nunchucks but, you know, swords. It's absolutely nuts how he was able to keep pace with Gyutaro's attacks with only one hand without injuring himself with the other blade.
And he did all that without some esoteric power-up or emotionally-rooted push, he math-ed out everything, he got Gyutaro figured out in a music sheet, he stole the fight without being set-up as some one-above-all dude. He is the best Hashira in my book.
Everything was all good but the way how tanjiro handled himself was outstanding. He was severely wounded, had two fingers broken completely, lost both his friends and even a hashira. Despite knowing he was alone left he went against gyuutaro. This is what makes you a demon slayer king.
I was hoping that you uploaded this soon. This fight was the definition of FLAMBOYANT, the animation, the soundtrack, the voice acting, simply everything was awesome. If they keep this level KNY will become one of the best shonens.

I really love the fight theme used. Ufotable really has a knack for deepening a scene or fight with music. Tengen can finally use his Musical Score Technique and the chaotic, uneasy music from the episode before now shifts into a beautiful and upbeat melody, signifying Tengen's resolve and confidence. He now moves to the rhythm of Gyutaro's attacks, dancing as he fights. Simply amazing and a great theme to go along with the visuals. This episode is top tier and truly one of the greatest episodes I've ever seen.

The part that made me love this more than Rengoku vs Akaza ost is the final part of the soundtrack where the trio screams and cuts upper 6 heads off

And besides, the author already confirmed that breathing form effects are not actually real in the verse, it's just an aesthetic Like for example, when Zenitsu uses his thunder breathing, he doesn't actually emit lightly effect, he just moves very fast.

My favorite thing about this fight theme is that after Tengen got Gyutaro’s scores their fight felt like a dance always in sync with the music. Leave it to Ufotable to make the most hype inducing godly music + godly animation + godly actions directing combination,these guys are such a legend!

This got me thinking about how people say he’s weak, tengen is one of the strongest in my opinion, let’s consider that he kept fighting with full force while poisoned, missing a hand, and being hit repeatedly with similarly grievous injuries to rengoku (i think at least), so while he did kill the lowest ranked upper moon, he’s still one of the greatest, he has a shit ton of feats, and while other characters do as well, you still shouldn’t discredit his power
Tengen is strong, there's no doubt about that, but he's still one of the weaker ones since he struggled with upper 6 while the other hashiras took on the stronger upper moons

Unfortunately I believe Tengen to be the weakest even more than Rengoku not because of the fight he put but because he failed to save the trio. Because of him Inosuke got impaled, Civilians died and Tanijiro received heavy damage. Plus that "fight" was mostly Tengen parrying than actually attacking. He is my favorite hashira but he would be a warm up for any upper moon.
