So I was playing in a football game last night, they had turf. And when I tried to tackle the quarter back I slipped and slid on ground and got turf burn (rug burn). It's all on my right leg and when I woke up there was all this puss leaking out. My coach told me to put some ointment on it and to let the puss and ointment to dry out all day. Keep it going. I got football practice in 2 days and gotta put gauze on it while I practice. Is that good for taking care of it?
I use reusable gel packs that you keep in the freezer. I put them on me immediately once I burned my leg the other day. The cooling was wonderful. One burn is superficial, but the other one, not so much. Although it is relatively small, the epidermis peeled off and it is bright red. I let it air out today and at night will cover it to prevent rubbing from when I go to bed. I didn't realize that the skin had peeled off, and I went into the shower. It literally felt like a blow torch. The chlorine in the water will mess you UP!!! Needless to say I am extremely careful when I bathe now. Gotta baby it till it shows signs of healing. I do have triple antibiotic ointment...grrrr seems like it wants to heal in slow motion.

A very common and conventional remedy - what works so well is to drop lavender oil on it directly and asap before anything else and continue every couple of minutes for the first hour then every couple of hours after. It heals so nicely, quickly and leaving little to no scars
2nd degree burn blisters popped some did not.. do I still apply the silvadene over the open blisters that have flesh exposed? And also do I apply to the blisters? Lastly, do I allow these wounds to breath at all? Thank you
jaime chavez you can get a silver plate like a band aid. Then get the doctor or nurse to bandage it. Keep it all sterile and bug clean free. Consult you local nurse or doctor to assist you.

If you've got a 10 day old burn that's on delicate skin that's got a thick scab, should you debride it or allow it to be dry? I've had it dry, but last night I slathered it with silvadene and but gauze over it. I didn't even know I got burned for a week. I know that's crazy! I narrowly escaped a near tragedy. I fell asleep smoking and it burned my shirt and bra together in about a 1/2 x 2 inch pattern. I realized a week later I had a larger burn on the side of my breast! It had a weird hard top. I use fentanyl patches. I thought maybe it burned/melted into the skin. I thought I lost it. It's a 12.5 mmg size. Now I think it's just a scab because now it's all the same color. It's a brownish yellow color. It was white with brown around the edges and hard in the center. It's never hurt or bend tender even, but it's at least a second degree burn. It's an ugly burn and very raw under the scab. I think the scab needs to come off if the silvadene softened it, but I'm a picker, so I don't know if it's compulsion or common sense that's making me feel like that. Make sense? So, what say you? LOL 😉

This is late but a cold tomato all smashed up into like purée put it on the burnt area and it soothes it and it helps heal at least it worked for me also aloe Vera helps

A little disclaimer, it's fine to pop the blister. If your blister is small to medium size and it doesn't pull the skin, or it doesn't feel stretched or cause you pain, then leave it alone. However if your blister is particularly large, painful or stretches the skin around the burn a lot, then pop it with a sterile siringe or ask a nurse or doctor to cut it open, as keeping it intact will cause you a LOT of pain, discomfort and will also slow down the healing process considerably.

I really do not advise band-aids for burns. A loose gauze should be enough.
i used toothpaste for my zits, as i've done in the past many times before but this time i put a huge amount and let it overnight. WORST DECISION EVER. DONT DO IT. i woke up with my face burnt, red and brown, and i've searched online and apparently it happens to a lot of people, now i'm gonna buy aloe vera gel since its what everyone recommends. hope it works because this looks so bad.

i use "momate cream" - on doctor recommendation. It just make the brown-burned skin soft and then peel off automatically . Take Care :)
i also use MOIZ Cleansing Lotion - which dont let my face dry !! It really helped me , I recover in 2 days. I personally advice you to consult a medical practitioner

Blues Sarah - Well first and foremost I went to the doctor and he popped the blisters that I had on it... And second he prescribed some cream to me and honestly I can't remember the name since this was over year ago but I remember taking it religiously and after a couple of weeks it healed... You can barely even see it anymore
