  • I’m a pilot for 20+ years. I have been to over 70+ countries. I have tried roasted pig from Mexico, Central & South America, Africa, Middle East (Israel), Asia, Polynesia... But I have to say, Philippines makes the best roasted pig.

  • This got me missing the Philippines so bad, one thing that I love about are it's people. They treated foreigners as guest offering them the best food, services and company. They always smile and crack some jokes. Food which will remain as my favorite is the Dinuguan my friend let me eat it with rice. Right after clearing my plate he told me that has blood!😲 Nonetheless, it was tastiest blood I've ever eatent. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

    • The top medical conditions in the Philippines include heart diseases, hypertension, stroke and diabetes. So you're probably right. But hey, it's a short life. And we only have one life anyway. Might as well enjoy it while we can. :) in moderation of course. And since lechon is only meant for celebrations and special occasions, it's not like you're eating it daily. Daily foods are less decadent and fatty. Traditional Filipino foods like pinakbet, eggplants, sinigang and more incorporate vegetables and balance out the fat. :)

    • Everybody knows that... It's one of the reason it's hard to globalize most Filipino dishes without westernizing the way of cooking them. Though most Filipino foods are inspired from Spanish, Chinese and other surrounding SE Asian countries. Every island and parts is the country has their own dishes.

    • Have you seen all Filipino foods to made that conclusion? Keep in mind Philippines has more than 7thousand Islands, we have different style of cooking. In my case, I cook healthy filipino food. Do not judge our food by just watching this video. FYI lechon is for a celebration purposes only.
