  • Can someone explain how when the modern bike racers do the doctors dangle, is nobody using the rear brake going into corners ??

    • Two ways both using your left hand, add a second lever for your hand or a thumb lever and connect it to the rear master cylinder.

      @funlovincriminal8930@funlovincriminal893015 күн бұрын
    • On race bikes it is now common practice, as already mentioned here, to add a second lever to operate the rear brake with the left hand or thumb. You'll sometimes notice the clutch lever in a weird position to accommodate this as the clutch is only used at the start. However, the main use of the rear brake is in corners, settling the bike, and to control wheelies under acceleration. Many riders are getting sideways purely due to engine braking. On MotoGP bikes, with their more complex ECUs, the amount of engine braking can be tailored to the individual riding style for each corner. There's so little contact between rear tyre and tarmac under extreme braking that you'll often see daylight. Some riders, for example Brad Binder on the KTM, have a serious sideways style on corner entry. Others not so much. Along with the aerodynamic aids, Ducati were working on a system which extended the rear shock somehow in an effort to maintain rear tyre contact under braking. The bikes also have anti wheelie control, but as that operates by cutting some power the rear brake can still help there. When you consider the riders are also using the ride height device to make the bike squat on corner exit for more grip, juggling with engine mapping as tyre grip drops off, managing tyre pressure to keep above the legal minimum, reading messages on their dash and checking pit boards it's a wonder they have any brain power left for actual racing. Heroes all of them. Anyway, you're probably bored shitless now 😄

    • Well. Since the road racing series is such a clusterf#ck and has so many classes on different tracks with no overall winner he won many of them against the best the world has to offer. So apart from a big trophy at the end of the season he IS a world champion in my books

      @wolfgangrembeck@wolfgangrembeck29 күн бұрын
    • @@wolfgangrembeck well if you want to put it that way he’s still not the “world champion” of road racing that would be joey Dunlop who actually is a world champion, micheal Dunlop would be next inline too being a “world champion”. John Mcguiness doesn’t hold any record for most wins at any road racing circuits anymore. And that’s just the facts

  • I don't get all this direction stuff don't ya just whack it open and hold it there long as possible then tip it over while dragging some brake thru the corners? too complicated for me.. crack it all the WOT, use as little brake as possible .. just cuz ya take the shortest way around a course doesn't mean its the quickest way, I see a lot of these "racers" pounding it up tight to the apex and using a ton of brakes to get the bike slowed down enough to negotiate it when there is 50 ft of track there? I like to keep the momentum up, same with hole shots, if there is a right into a left take the right wider with a ton more speed than the guys grabbing the binders to save their lives and slow way down, they now have to get you off line cuz you're going left now, who's in the way? no rule says you have to clip every single apex curb, whatever gets you around the corner the QUICKEST! not FASTEST! quickest its a time lap as ell, so id I can take the middle of the road and negotiate a 10th quicker than you while placing my self in the better position off the turn then I win... YEA I WIN!!!! lolol, momentum is always the best game to play, he who carries himself the quickest, open up every corner you can and carry more speed if it gets you around said turn QUICKER than hugging the curb and taking the corner sharp.. I see guys clipping every curb in chicanes when there is a straight line going right thru it, no turning required, yet they take the long way and scrub speed to boot????

    • What does dragging the brake mean ?? Use as little brake as possible just makes no sense?? Braking through the corners is the slowest way round?? Use as little brake as possible?? Use as much brake as possible before the corner 👍 using the shortest way round is shorter than a longer way 🤷🏻‍♂️hole shot 🤫 your right into left ffs the guys on the inside braking are coming out quicker than you way out on the left….you just don’t get that braking is the bit that makes you fast…brake late acceleration quick.What is the difference between quickest and fastest?? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️You don’t win that is utter nonsense, you sound like a 12 year old just of his simulator. Carry speed into a corner with no breaking means you are slow in slow around and slow out…always know how to break and when. No one and no one would not take a straight line if possible…..a chicane is by definition a chicane and there is no straight line through it. Stand educated, don’t talk nonsense and be utterly embarrassed about talking complete rubbish. Now get back to your PlayStation and leave the bike racing to the big boys .
