Can we get a spl final standings prediction from you guys? Thank you!
Hey Guys, its really great that you brought Wai Loon to the show...someone i am proud of for his growth. He is in fact one good player that we might have lost for our SPL as he had culinary aspirations instead. Think how many more we actually had lost. He is indeed a good feature and i hope more players are invited, local and foreign and why not even DPMM to share their perspectives also... Well done to you guys and your team, keep it up, and honestly, at the rate you guys are going with more creative content, the next global award is shaping up now. Hope more local football fans are inspired !!! 😀😀😀
Hi Neil/Han Keong, love your podcast/show, hopefully it isn't affected by whatever Yahoo's reportedly doing with its workforce. Totally agree that the pitch admin issue needs a couple of professionals to properly manage. When kids are making an effort to wake up before sunrise to pursue sport (must be a rarity these days), the least that can be done is that they don't drop the ball over things like double-booking.
The Highlight of this episode was Han Keong's 'Vindication' moment when Wai Loon agreed about the fans around the stadium. I absolutely loved it !!!. But on a serious note, I will not coin the term to 'dream about it', but instead 'Renascence' or even loosely 'resurrection' of our fan fare. Because during the S-league era, we actually had the fans around the field - many times Neil has mentioned the scaffolding stands that had to accommodate the games, sometimes spilling over to the tracks... heck we even had a pitch invasion before... So yes, we are capable of our European fanfare counter-parts, maybe better, with our uniquely Singaporean style epitomized by the football emotion articulated in a single word: 'Kayu.' It's simplicity captures the essence, no elaborate chants required.😀😀😀
But last time entertainment avenues were less, now there’s Netflix and Chill😂 Big games, sure, we can fill seats, like SG’s WC qualifiers or big name international games like Brazil v Japan, or foreign clubs like Juve, Liverpool, Tottenham SPL club games? Tough
Indonesia keep adding new Dutch players but where are our Perry Ng and Luke O Nien?
Congratulations to Danelle Tan for winning the German women's fifth tier league and a regional cup, playing a key role with 14 goals in 16 league games! She is demonstrating that there can be pathways for young Singaporeans to follow. Do you guys think she should stay at Dortmund who clearly have the ambition to continue their rapid promotions towards the women's Bundesliga? Or would there be any possibility of offers from European clubs with more established women's teams?
Talking of a lack of 4 sided stadiums with fans close to the pitch in Singapore, I saw that for the Rugby 7s this weekend the National Stadium has moved the lower tier with 24,000 seats closer to the pitch over the running track. Is there any chance they can do that for the Lions national team matches so us fans can get closer to the action and provide a better, more intense atmosphere?! (In June we could also get 12.7 metres closer to Son Heung-Min when South Korea visit for world cup qualifiers!)
Love your podcast! Keep it going guys.. :D Just for Fun Trivial: How many times the word “obviously” was being said in this podcast? 😂 A. 10 B. 15 C. 20
10? I didn't count.
glad you guys arent being laid off
Bai why you never anticipate this perennial problem? So many time turn up at school pitch on Sunday mornings and sch gate-keeper not around to open gate?
You mean like the efl championship season
I think LCS will win the titles this season.
It will be lcs and if there is a curve ball it will be BG tampines
Albreix localised, but standards, discipline aside, bcoz of the lack of quality JP players, I don't think they will be champions this season. but the key question is how badly will young lions fare this season? How many they want to concede again... How bad they want to get trashed again... LCS to win SPL 2024/25 - mark my words...
I disagree that football is a product - it cannot be manufactured. It is a community, even a cultural, process that needs coaches, managers, supporters, players, physiotherapists, administrative clerks, etc to play their parts over years and decades. If people will watch football as a 'product', then are they fans? Or only consumers moving from one product to another when they feel like it and according to trends?
Wrong! if your product is good the stadium will fill up no problem. Recall M-Cup days.Give us a brilliant product fans will come!. Mickey Mouse/joker football won't put bums on seats.
