Apple just got hit with another major fail that is a much bigger deal than it may appear. As iPhone struggles to regain momentum, Apple needs a new master plan to keep the money flowing, which may involve slashing prices and offering something new. Let me tell you why the Apple Card's demise spells bad news for iPhone 16 and why Apple needs a new plan to save a downfall.

Like, even if you can't afford the lump sum, why pay forever for a computer subscription when you can pay it off over a year and then you have it for as long as you want? Especially with Apple products, they hold value so if you don't want it anymore, you can sell it pretty easily.

  • Maybe I'm just made different but I'd sooner own equipment than rent it. This subscription fad reminds me of the 70s and 80s when we used to rent TVs instead of buying them. The very idea of big corporations parasitising your income by leaching money from you when you have it, and repossessing equipment when you don't, gives me the heebie-jeebies. I love Apple tech but its getting too expensive and I don't think that's because the equipment is intrinsically worth it, I think the increase in purchase cost is a cynical attempt to lay the groundwork for hardware subscription by making it seem more attractive. If hardware subscription becomes the trend and it becomes prohibitively expensive to buy or own your own equipment then I guess it's a huge win for big tech in the whole right to repair controversy. So, no. I'm not in favour of hardware subscriptions and, when it comes to computing, if I can't buy a Mac at a reasonable cost then I'll just build my own rig and put a Linux OS on there.

Namely people who can barely pay for RENT and Utilities. It's only a matter of time before Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint are dead and everyone is on T-Mobile themselves, because of how far down the rabbit hole the costs are and less need to replace their devices including myself still on a Windows PC and Steam isn't on Apple iMac as much.

Shortly after, there was a game that I played , was pretty simple in nature and one could progress a little faster by purchasing a one time upgrade if one desired, or you could just play the game and earn the upgrades. Well, it went from that model to 9.99/month. It was not some AAA title or anything like that either...I immediately uninstalled the app I did get an Apple Card when it was released but never used it. I keep the physical card in my dresser in the envelope it came in...way to nice to use in a card reader

My wife and daughter both use non-button iPhones and they have had a lot of problems with pocket dials and iPhones not shutting off when instructed to. My fave iPhone was the 3 but that expanded until the internal battery essentially blew open the front screen. I still have a 5 but quit using that when the software upgrades basically used all the memory and left it useless except for use as a travel phone.

They needed a CEO that would provide the stability and most important sustaining an incredible stable supply chain for the the huge influx of iPhone and related products. Tim Cook if you do not know is master of supply chain. in fact the very first iPhone would have never launched with success if Tim did not do his magic on the back side locking down the needed supply chain for the up coming onslaught the iPhones would bring. Tim has executed his responsibility most perfectly which was to make sure every one of the iPhone and apple products were available without a glitch for the last 15 years. Macintosh was dabomb up until System 7.5.3, and then they stabbed all of us in the back and switched the PowerPC and MachBSD Linux. That was the deth of Apple in the 90's. None of our software ran on the new systems. We all fled to building our own whitebox tower PC's that had a better TCP/IP stack running on them for a lot cheaper. And since then, there has been no compelling reason to go back to Apple. They reinvented themselves with the ipad and iphone, because desktop users were long gone. None of what Apple does any more matters though, because Apple got more money than gawd and are now just a huge financial holding company that can buy up any business star in any emerging sector they want. They bamboozled us all selling Desktop Publishing Macs, and I know my barn is full of them and none of them are worth anything any more.

I'm a music producer and the software I subscribed to was costing over $500 a month to various companys. I junked all of them and now buy music software and hardware outright. F*** subscriptions services they are just a way for rich people to rob the poor. Also, I junked my Mac in favour of a PC as I was being robbed with upgrades on software due to Mac updates breaking applications something which rarely happens on a PC.

That allows them to monetize both sides of payments, both on the paying and receiving end. I can also imagine them finding ways around their AppleCard issue and maybe offer their new partner more attractive terms.

The fundemental issue is, they priced themselves out of the market. I suspect there is some serious buyers remorse in their customer base. Think about it, when the iPhone first came out it was around 300 bucks. A decent Android phone is less than half the price of an iPhone and I think you'll find with no iPad updates, they are suffering huge reductions there too. It's the circle of life :)

  • On a point of just making money 1) Offer a Macbook that is 100% focused on cloud computing giving as little storage as possible but enough ram to handle cloud computing say for example a new Macbook Lite (Air) that cost $499 that has 24GB ram and 64GB of storage that is only for the OS and have everything synced to iCloud with a free 3TB subscription included for 1.5 years and charge after that. Letting the users fill up icloud and when they eventually run out of space in 2 years they either upgrade the subscription for more storage or buy a new slightly better device which gives you a new subscription with more storage. 2) Redo the product lineup having the iMac, Mac Studio with a new lower priced point version for like $799, Mac Pro and Macbook and Macbook Pro, Airpods, Airpods Pro and Airpods Max

  • Logic Pro used to come in a box set for $799. Then when the App Store was introduced I had to pay additional $199.00 for the App Store Logic Pro X. New users only paid $199. So instead of Apple allowing current customers who already bought Logic Pro for $799 to do an upgrade ( should have been free for the customers who already paid $799 for Logic Pro box set) it was like I had to re purchase Logic Pro X all over again. So Apple basically ripped off all the musicians who paid $799 for the Logic Studio Box Set before the App Store came out. They could have charged all Logic Studio customers and upgrade fee if $19.99 or $49.99. But I already paid Apple $799 for Logic Studio we should have got the upgrade free. Apple is ripping off everyone Tim Cook is the reason. Steve Jobs would never have allowed this to happen on his watch.
