It really puts into perspective just how tough those giant tires are when you consider those machines chew up engine blocks with little effort.
Engine blocks break up easier
Rubber gives a high resistance, hence why it’s so tough against the ground,bounce and resilience, steel has different proprieties which has the opposite.. hence easier to shred…
I doubt that one does.

So if your in the big tire shredding business wouldn’t you think you would have a shredder that can do the job.
You can tell by the width of the jaws that its to small for the job. Also the speed the shafts turn are way fast. To put this demonstration disgrace in a video is just dumb. MB

I would have thought the shreds would have gone into a container. This way it has to be scooped up.

It seems to be a case of biting off more than you can chew with the first one, it kept reversing and taking multiple bites before it was able to destroy it.😮

You will have to also buy conveyor system and giant industrial electric hydaulic pump motor to operate it sold separatly

Years ago i worked in maintenance, in a big tyre company, they refurbished tyres for trucks, where they grinded off the remains, this fine materiel it produced, was made to rubbermats.
They go into the My Pillows.

If I had an ice pick back when the Titanic hit an iceberg ,in the 10 minutes it took took destroy this tire, the ship could have been saved.
So why go to all of the trouble to shred a giant tire only to have a conveyor raise it up then drop it on the ground?

I used to work at a tire shredding company in AB Canada. For big heavy machinery tires we cut up in either 2 to 4 pieces to shredding a lot easier for less maintenence on motor and cutters

Those loader tires are made to be just as tough as that machine. I would know, I've had to help repair them, as well as ship them.
First video shows a testrun to adjust the crusher. After the best settings are find out it crunches the big tires like cookies!

I'm baffled as to why there's no receptacle under the conveyor belt to catch all of the shredded material, rather than just having it all dump into a pile on the ground. Am I crazy here?

I'm seeing a lot of Comments bleating that "Oh, it's not big enough; it's an embarrassment; it's failing; the tyres are too tough; it had to keep stopping; the machine's useless", etc. But the point is, the all the tyres were shredded and the job got done. A shredder is a tool for business, not a circus performer. Shredding waste isn't about looking cool or impressing little boys or using 5x the energy necessary to complete the task. There are no prizes for shredding a tyre without adjusting the job or reversing the rollers. That's why the machines can be reversed. Saying that 'the tyre won' is absurd. The tyre - in every single instance - was successfully shredded. If you're running a waste-management business, that's what matters. Anyone can build an unstoppable machine; you just need an infinite amount of someone else's money, a big (nationalistic) chip on your shoulder and a massive inferiority complex. The shredders in this video are all perfectly adequate. If they break down because they're overstrained, they can be repaired economically. Some boys are way too concerned by size issues...

It would be nice to see an expert log roller running on top while avoiding getting caught. Until, of course, they get a foot caught and fight for their lives with blood curdling screams as it becomes evident, the fight is over.

I can see how tires are shredded but I can't work out how the last machine extracts the wire reinforcement.

The first tire getting shredded looks like the soles of my favorite shoes, the soles are falling apart but I'm okay with that, I like to get my monies worth, WHY throw something away when they still have some life left in them
Acted like that shredder had a belt slipping or something on the first tire. Jammed up pretty easy. The second it ate without a belch.
As a KZhead producer myself, and NOT complaining whatsoever, film in landscape mode for better video. It eliminates the glare on the sides when you watch the video. But this is some cool shit!
