James Jones is 100% correct!!!
He's really not the main point is more NBA players could play football than NFL players could play basketball. NBA players are strategic just because they flip doesn't mean they're soft they are just taking advantage of the rules
@Ac3Badger honestly, we can go scientifically. Their anatomy does not fit the successful football player. They are too tall, too lanky they get hurt similarly to a qb from a direct hit. They'd get destroyed by a Fred Warner, Bobby Wagner, or even a T.J Watt or Myles Garret. Point is i don't believe there's 30 NBA players that can be a NFL player. Draymond I can see, Zion I can see but none of the 7 footers, 6'9-6'10 maybe if they are on the line but their center of gravity would be against them.

Most NBA players aren’t explosive enough to play in the NFL. Running fast on a hardwood surface in sneakers is a lot different than running fast on turf in cleats. Your place in the draft can be determined by literal fractions of a second from speed and agility testing at the combine.
If you spend 15 years training for a sport you’re going to be good at it In other words if NBA players spent 15 years training for football , and NFL players spent 15 years training to play basketball, a lot more NBA players would make it into the NFL than Vice Versa

Another way to look at what Austin said is that for a man with the minimum required physical talents (height, strength, speed, etc.), it is noticeably harder to make it to and in the NBA than the NFL. Even if we put skills and dexterity aside, the size of the teams and number of players drafted each year bare this out clearly. You simply have to be better at your sport to make it in the NBA than in the NFL. It is disrespectful and unreasonable to question the ceiling of either sport, but the NBA's floor (on average) is easily higher than the NFL's. It is not unreasonable to say that there are more NFL players that wished they could have made it to the NBA (and even tried to and failed), than the other way around.

You think that size is what makes the NFL? Its the speed, agility, and leverage. A 330lb lineman shouldn't be that fast but they are. Russ ain't running a 4.4 40yd. The quick step off the line is what NBA players won't have. Nor the footwork needed. If you were correct, Steven Adams is 265lbs. A far cry from 330lb. He's also almost 7ft tall. No leverage at all when you are that tall. Bron at TE or Edge might be the only one on the list that might work.

@chasehlee7197 all those players in the NBA who are role players, who play defense and rebound were srars in high school and most likely college. Pat Beverly averaged 37 in high school . Kevon Looney was a star i high school and all pac 10 player. Kendrick Perkins was a McDonald's all American.
Anthony Edwards said himself, he wants to be the first Pro Athlete to Play in the NBA & the NFL at some point in their Pro Career. Ant , (A younger) Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry could play QB, Draymond Green. just to name a few could've made the transition from the NBA to the NFL.
You’ve got to be kidding me 😆😆😆. None of those dudes are transitioning because they aren’t “pros”
Draymond was terrible at football
@@tonybayarea lol if he couldn’t play in college wat makes u think he’ll transition in the nfl
@@tonybayarea I can tell u graduated at the bottom of ur class or graduated at all .. I said “draymond was terrible at football” I didn’t say anything about being a star did I? No .. he played in college and didn’t work if he couldn’t play in college how would he transition in the nfl ..
@@tonybayarea yea I bet u did lmao and he couldn’t play at Michigan state man cut it out lol
@5:10 has me in tears....😂😂😂
Zyion Williamson can be a starting Tackle right now, he definitely has the eating habit for it 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
They didn't do a good job defending this argument. It was the typical nba players are soft. NO talk about if NFL players could actually hoop.
I'm pretty sure Parsons would actually be decent.
Pat Bev ave 37ppg in high school...
They have no idea what they be talking about on here!
@@Btuck9007suprised Rick didn't come with some type argument. Mabye he's intimidated by these football dudes
The skill that's needed to be an elite basketball player is way more than to be a player outside of kicker and quarterback
You’ve never played at a high level and it shows 😆😆😆. Even OL have to be elite and skilled.
Westbrook would be a top 5 receiver. What corner can jump with him? Name one not 2.
Ever seen him in pads and getting hit? That isn’t flag out there
A lot of NBA players can play WR, TE, and Safety...D'Aaron Fox would be a top tier WR right now
He’s not fast or big enough. He wouldn’t get off the line of scrimmage in the NfL
@@vincew4297 He'd be a similar build to Devonta but would be taller and most likely faster off the line (Fox is incredibly good at changing pace). You're forgetting that all these NBA players are way bigger than NFL skill players.
@@joeasuncion2891 no they’re taller they’re not bigger or stronger. Takes more than change of pace to be good in the NFl. Fox and is skinny and would get folded like a lawn chair coming across the middle. If anything guys would be head hunting for a guy like him thinking he could just come into the NFL. They would go out of their way hit him even when he’s not getting the ball thrown to him. NFL players are crazy in a way NBA players aren’t. It takes a different level of toughness. Athletically Fox would be on par but he wouldn’t make an NFL roster as just a Receiver he’d have to be good on special teams blocking and having to tackles guys who are a lot bigger, stronger, and faster than him.
@@vincew4297 you actin like he just gonna be going to bball practice and come play football on Sunday. If NBA players train like football players, they would go just as hard as the rest of them NFL dudes… NBA money is much better and GUARANTEED !!!
@@lightskamrunaction these guys have been playing football at a high level for many years. Don’t think some training is going to get them ready to play in the NFL. Also being able to play in the NFL it’s just as important, if not more, to have the mentality to the game than it is just being an great athlete or training
Tony Gonzales, Antonio Gates and Jimmy Ghram was not mentioned here is crazy
Exactly
And Gates never played football at least in college . Where is the NBA player that never played in and became and NBA hall of famer
@@soda8736 Lebron James Allen Iverson
@@soda8736 Nate Robinson
@@ReconcilemE Robinson played basketball in college
So many comments here ..but does not understand the game. NBA has 82 games with 5 players inside. Those guys do more than any NFL player. So load management is their answer. NFL switches team on offense and defense. The game is just long because of the pause. They are more physical...yeah. But for your joints like the knee, basketball will destroy you permanently in the long run. Besides, NFL wears protective gear. Its not like Rugby. But in all of this, i dont agree there are 30 NBA players that can play right away in NFL.. 10 will be at best.
James Jones is that dude. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Rivers is more right than wrong
Is he tho? It's not like the nfl is a developmental league, lol.
@@dnice4145 Are there 30 guys who could play DB, Tight End, Quarter Back, or Kicker? Like do they have the physical attributes to do so? I believe so. I don't there are 30 football players who you can drop in a game and reasonably expect them to not foul out almost immediately.
No he’s not there is not 30 nba players u can just drop into the nfl
The delivery is what they don’t like……messenger also
Ok… then why do players that get bounced from the league go play for Taiwan ect.. instead of just balling in the NFL?? They would make more money if they could do the job. There is a reason NFL contracts aren’t guaranteed (because there is an overwhelmingly underrated factor.. toughness and durability) not to mention the cerebral part of the game knowing plays, situations, jobs ect. The game is so different it’s annoying to listen to people who think just because you can jump and run you could LAST in the NFL. Im sure there are talented players in the NBA who IF they focused on football from the get go could have made it but that’s not the same as saying they could just walk into the league. Honestly it’s disrespectful, as I don’t think NFL could do the same . The NBA is European football on a hardwood floor lol. I would rather have an NHL player on my team than an NBA player
So what separates NBA players from football is pain tolerance. What separates NFL players and skills, hand eye coordination, shooting and passing. I agree
I can’t name 30 guys that can play a whole nba season
Can you name 30 guys that can finish a training camp? Not make the roster just finish training camp
Shady KILLIN ME!!😂😂😂😂
But he not wrong...basketball is a more technical sport and football is the more pure athletic sport. Maybe not a full 30 but close to it. Antonio Gates is a good example. Fewer nfl players could be nba players, which i think is his point.
All he was saying
