Who will be faster? A former world champion professional motocross racer riding an 85cc 2 Stroke kids bike, or an amateur weekend warrior dirt bike enthusiast riding a full size, super powerful 450cc 4 Stroke race machine? It's time to find out! We are aiming to prove that it's not about the bike, it's about the rider. But can our pro get the job done? It'll be a tough task for sure.....Get ready for what we think is the best moto video we've ever made!

    • Soooooo Truuuuuuu!!! The only bike that ever ran out from under me and dumped me onto my knees one day was a Yamaha 125 MX when it came onto the pipe, caught a little traction, and launched itself like a rocket right out from under me. My 360 and 500 could never do that.

    • I'm 51 light and own a Cr85 big wheel , take it trail riding in Australian mountains and love it . The closest thing you can get to a huge suspension mountain bike , light but with all that awesomeness of an obnoxiously loud 2 Stroke echoing through the mountains. Great fun . Just don't ask about the ludicrously steep mountain climbs , the attacking challenge is fun but compared to a four stroke -we'll leave that one alone 😁 I do believe that riding these makes you a better attacking 4 stroke rider .🇦🇺

    • I bought a 2003 CR85 RB years ago , with a crook hip wanting something small and light , as close to a mountain bike as possible for trial/enduro riding . Absolutely loved this thing after dialing in the suspension and a few tweaks for power. Hill climbs were an obvious downfall , but tight cornering , rocky trails and nimble handling was a blast . There's something about ringing the neck out of a noisy 2 Stroke to keep up with the big boys that makes it fun . Unless your racing that's what it's all about 😁 diiiing , ding ding ding ding 🇦🇺

Tempted to get a 250 4 stroke for some track action but will keep the 85 for pure fun. Different class from the 80s i grew up with.

In my 30s I put an old 70s IT 250 engine in a later model RM 125 barley fitted used a DT175 expansion chamber and had to cut the frame and make a box section to get the exhaust through as they came through the centre on old bikes had the twin spring rear end. Man it was a hoot to ride, looked like something out of a Mad Max movie. People wouldn't think much of it out riding until they seen it get up and boogie especially with that sixth gear. 😂

Then 85-00 two stroke perfected without distortion to the cc rules. Would love to see a classic mx (scrambler) vs modern bike shoot out - suspension instead of power might be the decider.

  • Personally I loved the kx 100 big wheel. Had a ttr125 for a pitbike at the time. And found my self riding the kx ever chance I got and letting my buddies ride the ttr. Absolutely loved it. For trails and everything except slow wheelies. I imagine a fly wheel swap would take care of that

  • Saved up half a year and got my first MX bike, a YZ80D, in 1979 at age 12. Later in life around 30th BD got a 1996 YZ250 2-stroke, got back into riding. Loved both. But life got in the way... Fast forward 25 years. Just finished building a 29kW (36hp) Surron, and I'm smiling like a little kid again, taking it on 'mild' MX tracks. Build video is on my channel.
