Full Fight Kevin Randleman vs. Fedor Emelianenko PRIDE Critical Countdown 2004 Saitama 20/06/2004
My father is a neurosurgeon with over two decades of experience performing operations on the human brain and spine. When I showed him this fight, he immediately asked me to replay the part where Fedor gets dropped on his head. After looking closer at the footage, I was told by him that an impact like that could easily snap a man's neck - especially considering how heavy Fedor is. Conclusion: Fedor is either insanely lucky or inhumanly robust to not be phased by what Randleman did to him there.

Fedor was asked about this slam at the next Pride event,,,He said he tucked his chin like he was trained to do in Sambo/Judo. It wasn;t a big deal to him. He said he had been slammed like that many times in training and competition....

This still has to be the most brutal slam ever in MMA. Not just a career ender but a very real life ending suplex. Two legends.
@thePhished2 жыл бұрын
Fedor with his years of sambo experience and getting slammed thrown from a child.. saved him he relaxed didn't tenses up.. like in judo from 5yr old learning to break fall.. you throwing and getting bounced off the Matt 50 to 100 times each session.. 3 times aweek then getting thrown during randori from bigger stronger more experienced boys .. by the time your in your late teens 20s your body is so used to getting thrown you completely relax and I think .. Fedor being so relaxed during that throw saved him form serious injury.. if that was a boxer that Kevin suplexed they would have been carried out on a stretcher.. but Fedor stayed cool relaxed and simply got ontop and finished with a judo ude garami submission.. sambo practitioners are taking over now in the UFC guys like khabib now Islam both sambo practitioners and both UFC champions one current and one retired undefeated

fedor is one of the most ferocious, and deadliest but at the same time the most humble and kind man on earth.... I notice in the end of most of his fights, he never gives any extra... never throws a punch that isn't need.... and here for example, after twisting his arm and the fight is called, he continues to hold and support it and gently brings it back to randlemans side 18:43

"he never gives any extra... never throws a punch that isn't need" Yeah, other than Ngannou, Dan Henderson or Masvidal (just to name a few). I hate it, when MMA fighters routinely deliver a few extra shots, even though their opponent is already as stiff as a board.

I'm a newer MMA fan, but I can see why people say that Pride felt so much more special. The theatrics, the huge arena, the entrances, the ring instead of a cage, the actual NAME (not just a number) of the events! It's like the anti-UFC! LOL😂 Dana White said that he doesn't like all this stuff, but honestly if you don't have this stuff, then the pay-per-views just feel regular TBH. UFC events don't feel all that special. Yeah, some of this stuff feels a little WWE, but that's why it feels so grand. Pride knew how to really put on a show, man. It wasn't just the fight that you were entertained by, just like how the football isn't the only thing you're entertained by at the superbowl, it's also the performances which include a bunch of theatrics!! Dana White needs to understand this!!! This is why Pride was winning in the late 90s and early 2000s. Pride probably would've bought the UFC if they weren't discovered for being ran by corrupt people!

It's insane to think how close Randleman was to having back-to-back knockouts over Cro Cop AND Fedor. UNREAL!
Fedora relaxed his body. Your imaginary dad you never met should know this.

This still has to be the most brutal slam ever in MMA. Not just a career ender but a very real life ending suplex. Two legends.

Fedor even smiled when Kevin picked him up after the match was over. What a great moment
😭

Fedor is unbelievable!!! I just love his cool calm demeanor.
He dead on the inside
The fact that slam didnt break Fedors spine is just a testament to what a beast he is. I feel like anyone else could have genuinely died there!
One of the greatest moments in MMA history. Thank you Kevin for that Amazing slam, RIP
what a warrior Randleman, facing the best fighter at the time. mountains of respect
Fedor is a Boss💪
Mark Rigsby, the One and Only!
the final boss
Thanks mi brother, hello from Moskoy
He's amazing I love his personality such a good guy a true champion
Man, it was just if I was young again watching this... the way they conducted the show, the interviews...and remembering that my parents didn`t let watch this `cause was "too violent". Amazing video !! Thanks for uploading it !!!
One of my favorite MMA fights of all time.
Pride produced the best highlight reels in MMA. So many memorable moments. Miss this era.
How many times you have seen HW making that (18:04) transition? In less than a second he killed any confidence Kevin had from slam. Same speed when he gets Coleman in armbar from below. Incredible. People like HL of that slam, I like how Fedor reacted.

Randleman slam of Fedor will go down as one incredible athletic feat throughout time. Fedor recovers and wins. 2 incredible athletes and people. Both showed so much class after brutal combat. They are true winners. RIP Kevin you are missed..
Nikto ne pobewdaet vremj
@Xavier Pushkin

R.I.P Kevin. I remember growing up watching Fedor fight and always being amazed. Fedor emelianenko is the true last Emperor.
Randleman screaming in pain,Fedor is soo fast unbelievable
Great sportsmanship by Kevin and Mark Coleman at the end after they both had lost to Fedor. Can't be mad at losing to Fedor.
Thank you very much for uploading this!
You could see how much Fedor was relieved that he survived that slam. I think he knew how bad it could have ended for him. He really respected the hell out of Randleman too.
Rampage,”that’s all right all blacks people look alike..”😂😂😂😂😂 I remember cracking up when I first watched this fight
He said "They are about to call me Gary Goodridge" 💀
"WE WILL NOT TEST YOU!!" Thanks Pride for the Best fighting Era and Organization Ever!
It was a pleasant surprise getting to know Kevin through this mini documentary! Looks can be deceiving, he is an honorable man, judging by this video! Rest in peace!
Badass fight, amazing commentary, pride was something else :,)

Fedor is the best of all time. I think what else that makes him great is his quiet unassuming manner and his acknowledgment of the opposing side after the fight. That is somewhat gone nowadays.

I just came to watch this after Miocic vs DC 3... This guys in Pride really knew how to put on a show! 😱
18:07 That reversal move was incredible.
I went to UFC 92 and had the pleasure of meeting Kevin in a bar outside the MGM Grand Arena. Truth be told I had no idea who he was and we had the best time hanging out and talking and I think he appreciated that I didn't know who he was and so he was just talking to another person as opposed to someone who was a fan.
Joel Soto - I agree! Maybe they’re making it boring because they want MMA to be taken more seriously like its scientific. In the States, it almost got banned. Now ESPN is partnered. Now MMA is its own martial art. It’s time to relax and put flavor back into MMA!
And it wasn't all trash talk! There was way more respect. I'm sure the Japanese wouldn't have encouraged what goes on with guys like Conor McGregor like Dana does. They wouldn't have put up with it. You can have hype and rivalry without being trashy and disrespectful. It's a shame that it was replaced by UFC because it was so cool.
Spot on my friend
