When dude said “You ready to die for them but they don’t want that. They want you to live.” I felt that.
That gave me chills fr
It shows the hypocrisy and irrational love these gang members have for their relatives, they want you alive yet you claim to defend them by putting yourself in harms way, what an oxymoron.
Clockwork Society I feel like this is a parent’s mentality in general. Most parents would say things like “I’d give my life for my child” or something similar
Do you wanna bake bread with Peeta Mellark It’s fair when the danger bestow’s itself upon an innocent life, but I’m not sure this applies to parents who voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect a generational misconception of honor.
Coming from a gang member that means nothing.

The end when they all hugged and connected actually made me tear up.. Almost like a proud father seeing his kids that grew up fighting their whole lives, finally getting along together. I'm very happy this is has been viewed a lot. "Let's find peace or understandin' on these streets we gangbangin'."
For sure the best middle ground episode. These guys kept it so civil and the conversation was amazing to hear. Instead of attacking each other's beliefs they were ready and willing to hear each other out. Mad respect to all of them.
I wish most people were like this. It’s hard to converse with people with different opinions nowadays. So many people are so quick to get defensive and not willing to listen to different perspectives or opinions. I’m just as guilty of this, especially when I feel strongly about something, but so many conflicts could be resolved easily if people were willing to listen to other perspectives and try to understand those they disagree with. Having a different opinion or view isn’t a reflection of anyone’s character, our experiences in life shape the way we see the world and how we interact with it. A little bit of empathy and understanding can go a long way.
This is true. These men are more together than all those folks who have political disagreements. They have experienced real life and have learned from it. They're not trying to portray an agenda.
When a group of rival gang members interrupt each other less than any other group on this series...
Gio Barrientos vegans
These guys were really cool. They had a lot in common with each other, so the respect was mutual.
Because there is the real threat of violence if they disrespected each other. It's the way most societies have worked. When people feel that they can get away with disrespect they do it a lot more.

It’s almost like seeing military vets from rival forces come together. When you’ve gone through the same experiences as someone you can identify with and respect them.
Those OGs are literal Vets fr they real soldier that went thru war, I respect them on the highest level for their mindset and how wise they are
"I was suicidal - I signed up every day to be dead." Wow. That kind of puts a new perspective on this stuff for me.
It's a life of nihilism. It's like the military where you develop a sense of "If I die, I die."
When you come to a realization of anything you really love could be extinguished at any given moment, then what's left to lose? That mentality along with the hole in yourself that grows larger and larger with each loss drives what you *think* is a sense of 'selflessness' but is actually carelessness for yourself in that you hold an extreme sense of survival against any threat, unknown, etc... Just the fact that he realizes that's what happened about himself is a milestone, but the next steps are the important choices he'll have to make.

@Bomani Williams I'm sure not ALL of them selfishly abandoned their child
“The media is full of dirty tricks.” - Tupac Shakur
Truth be told its not even that. Its what they go on since they don't know the full politics. Just like how democrats fuck with Republicans and vice-versa. Its all politics
They want everyone to see the negative side of everything
Fax even Tupac was a trick he a agent
Long story short: Media is the cause of evil, because they don't care which side means what; they care about money, and views mean money to them. We pay the price, and they cash it in. Media loves conflict, because media earns money from conflict.
