I definitely agree about the size of the pool but assuming this is not aquatic safe cement/concrete is a bit much.
Fish live in cement ponds just fine. This is obviously just a demonstration. Anyone with common sense would modify the setup for plumbing etc.
@@j4nef4de46 finally a sensible comment. I guess you feel too, that I'm sure he only did this temporarily as a showcase of the piece.... I felt that as well. Artists are usually pretty smart and a lot of us are compassionate as well... more for animals than even humans a lot of the time lol.... I'm sure it's like the type of personality or something... but even if he didn't care about the fish, I'm sure he was smart enough to know that they wouldn't live long in that.... you have to be somewhat intelligent to do this with concrete so...

I wouldn’t call this art…. It looks terrible and he has the same gimmick with the cement blanket in multiple videos. It looks like shit and it’s cruel to fish. He keeps moving them from crappy random fabric cement project to the next. Sad…
The color leaves a lot to be desired! Not very pleasing to the eye but the cement draped fabric is something I will try for planters

I like the design elements here. Obviously, it is for demonstration... :) I’m sure anyone keeping fish would modify for plumbing, space, etc. The use of an umbrella to create an organic shape is brilliant. Thanks for your time!

They absolutely will do the exact same thing and some poor employee is going to have to do their best to inform them that it’s wrong and hope they listen. My father use made a fish ponds with cement to be able to use it it had to be soaked in vinegar for days to take out the lime from the cement Those fish won’t last long in that toxic environment

@@pshiel I highly doubt that he has been using a proper sealer, so most likely these fish got high from all the toxins and died peacefully because they forgot to breathe.
Also a bubbling water feature to keep the water moving would have been amazing.

Using the umbrella as a mold is a fantastic idea because it can be used in so many artistic ways. Unfortunately using it as a pond with so many big fish is not such a good idea. Personally I would have simply used the white and (maybe) a blue paint just to highlight the folds. All in all it’s still a great project that can be altered easily to suit one’s personal taste.

Well the man had a dream. But the color scheme was a nightmare... kudos for the design. As for the fish, i think those kinda fish thrive in groups.
It should be 1 gallon of water for each fish! And they DO NOT thrive in groups!

Cement should always be bleached first before fish go in!!, and you need to build it bigger for the amount and size of fish ,.... Would have liked to see that turned into a skirt for a Victorian doll statuette 🤪

I think both of your ideas are excellent... though he has good intentions unfortunately the fish will not live long ... I also think your idea of a Victorian skirt is quite creative as well. I would add that he should probably rethink the paint colors...

Those koi fish are doomed. Putting them in the pot is cruel. Why not leave the pot natural cement or paint it terracotta and use it for a planter?

Being a crafter myself. I about cried to see that blanket ruined. Thinking of the elderly, the homeless, even disabled people who could benefit from its warmth. I'd have used something else like plastic types of products to recycle or maybe something like tinfoil there had to be another way.

Great idea. How about just using this as a fountain. Too toxic for fish.
It looks nice for planting but not as fish tanks. It is not practical since fish tanks need to be cleaned from time to time. Using fabrics with cement makes it very fragile and delicate to use.

It looks like a chair. Build up a cushion, make a concrete side table (maybe another umbrella chair) and you have a great seating area to enjoy. I think the fish are pretty wasted there.

Those poor fish were probably days away from death. Most pet stores have them in horrible conditions to begin with. This is amazing art and I doubt he kept the fish in there for long. Most people that are such creative artists, are also compassionate individuals. Most not all. I'm betting that this was just for this video, and not permanent. As for the art! Omg. I own a concrete company with my hubby and we work with concrete every single day. I had no idea. Bet your you know what, that I'm going right now to get an umbrella and breaking open a bag of sak-krete!! You just inspired the birth of a new art form, and possibly a new avenue for our concrete business! I always want to do artistic things and no one ever wants to... they want to stay safe and do what everyone else does. Plain gray concrete. I want to paint it, put gemstones, or glow in the dark rocks in it. I love the stamped concrete but materials are too much and not enough demand. So maybe this will be my creative flow with my business. Thanks so so so much for this. You are amazing!

I like the theme. For myself, instead of covering the dirt with concrete I would have planted pansys or some other types of small pops of color to add to it. Then on the border against the wall tall growing plants the height of the potted plants like lemon grass or something. That's just me, I know everyone has their own likes and ideas. Thanks for the upload!
In full sun, what you mentioned would be great. Those plants need sun. For his shaded area, he's basically planted house plants that don't need a lot of sun. This is a good idea to spruce up a drab shaded area.

P.S. I didn't see a pump anywhere, which is a must with any type of fish pond.
There is fish like the goldfish and many others that does not absolutely need a pump in their tanks or ponds. But that many that big in a small body of water would definitely need a pump.
@@ashleybennett234 you are correct. These are koi fish. Koi fish is gold fish. People act like they have never heard of a koi pond. I've seen a few that are just that size. I'm sure he was using the fish as a model. Lighten up. Don't be so critical. Jeeze.
