The Animator if your referring to johnny cage and Cassie cage when they fight shinnok, its because their shadow energy is like kryptonite to shinnok and makes him weak, also in the beginning when johnny is beating scorpion and subzero, as trueunderdog said, the revenants are weaker versions of the actual people, so they would of course be easier to defeat
two can sam egg and cheese even if they are weaker than the originals scorpion has clearly shown he is strong even as a revenant as he beat the original subzero both,nightwolf, and kung lao. I also think he fought sektor and cyrax and beat all of them. And johnny beat him and subzero who even if weakened both together should have won.

Alien basically ate Baraka, and going with good ol' Alien lore, that means Alien now has aspects of Baraka, and in this case it's his arm blades (Alien never had arm blades before, not like it needed them to kill someone). At least one variant will have that, sort of how Kitana now encompasses Jade with that, what's it called, Royal Storm or something, thing. But it's not like anyone has a Rain variant.
