@@azrael7853 That is because these creatures shown here are a joke & mutts in comparison to the Underworld saga werewolves and the Van Helsing werewolf which is practically a god wolf that single-handedly defeated Dracula! The Lycan-werewolf and pure blood ancestor William Corvinus for instance is fiercer, and the Van Helsing wolf is comparable to brute Hulk in terms of strength. That wolf tore down half of Dracula's castle in a battle against him. The wolves of this video game are barbarians and not pure bloods. Also, i am not counting the shape-shifters or the overgrown spirit wolves like the Uley pack of the Twilight series which are similar to Nahuales or "Jaguar men", whom are really Native American humans that have learned to alter their shape or bonded with a Spirit Animal like Nightwolf from Mortal Kombat for instance, so technically these are not even Werewolves or Lycans at all. Whenever the wolves howl up towards the moon, they are really calling out to Artemis or invoking her to assist them to catch their prey, since they are her children and technically the Moon is also Artemis, the Nightmother. The legends of the Werewolves or "Wolfmen" really originated from the Gypsey people of Greece, Turkey, Balkans, Hungary, and Romanian myths & legends. Mainly from the area between the border of Hungary and Romania named "Transylvania". This is the real origin of the Werewolves. Just my two cents!

So you could wolf out and just go run hunt, Fight against other packs, because you are a lone Wolf without a pack. Your family pack was killed by a rival pack. Your Looking to belong. Then join a pack and ascend to a pack to become its alpha. Also have Hunters that are werewolves natural enemies! The lore and depth Is so wide and could be AAA Story not to mention a Great Way to show what true werewolf could do if it was real! Limitless potential!

Agreed, that and the Walking Dead. Awesome series and yet every game that comes out based on it is crap. I say that mainly do to Overkill. They had a very similar theme; awesome looking CGI trailer with shit game play.
I hope there is someone out there who is a true werewolf fan, takes what they know about the lore and what’s makes being a werewolf so cool and create a game out of it, cause if not then I’m gonna have to do it cause this is ridiculous, the designs in this game are cool. That’s pretty much the only good thing about this game

When I saw previews I was like this is gonna be cool. When I saw gameplay it quickly looked like stuff became redundant fast.
The best White Wolf game has always been the Masquerade: Bloodlines RPG. It is considered the best game of that world. Yet, they keep making crappy action games out of it instead of making an RPG based on the world and the tabletop ruleset. Its same thing that happens with Warhammer 40K - they just keep churning out these FPS/action games that never hit.

There was virtually no blood on that werewolf that was ripping and tearing for like a minute strait.
The flesh that makes up the hybrid form is actually a whole other set of flesh separate from the human form. When cahal reverts to his human form, the flesh that was covered in blood is actually converted into spiritual energy called essence and stored within his metaphysical aura along with the other 3 inactive forms (for a total of 5 forms. If you wanna see each form in detail just Google search garou 5 forms and hit images)

There legit needs to be a werewolf survival game. Build your hut for your human half out of wood, tarp, anything you can find or scavenge. Hunt to sate your hunger. Build your own pack, keep your scent boundaries strong, make peace or war with neighboring packs, etc. It would be so epic.
I saw the trailer some time ago, and I thought to myself: "Whoaw, that looks pretty awesome." And it did. But now that I see actual gameplay, I must admit I am extremely let down with how it looks and how the story is. Sure, graphics aren't everything, but good graphics for sure help.
Dude I was gonna get it until I saw the gameplay. I remember I didn't like Skyrim then I saw you could become a werewolf and that alone convinced me.
The transformations are wayyyyyy too fast, there seems to be no story "Thats rafeeq, NO!?" "What have I done?" "No time to mourn now. 🤷🏾♂️" no flow whatsoever lol

on the actual tabletop game you have 2 options of transformation. Making a check and taking the entire turn transforming or you spend a point of rage to turn immediatly, so I think the fast turning fits.
after they turned into a huge wolf. their clothes disappeared and when they returned to human form the clothes returns. is it iron man nano technology here?

The videogame cut out a lot of both the planned content as well as source materia which would have explained a bunch of stuff. As for the changing clothes: Werewolves (Garou) are actually half-spirit and half-flesh. The biggest thing that was cut was the Umbra which is like an onion with multiple spirit planes with the closest being directly tied to the real world and being influenced and influencing it back and where various spirits such as those of cities, elementals, animals, mountains, rivers, plants, etc. Werewolves are able to learn various abilities that relate to the spirit they learn it from as well as certain other abilities including the one that makes their clothes either meld into their forms (for stuff such as clothing) or grow/shrink with their form (for stuff like armor or items called Fetishes that have a spirit bound into them). It generally takes a lot of spirit energy and time to atune an item (fetishes if worn/implanted naturally adjust to a werewolf's form) so most only do it for some basic cloths or only a handful of items such as boots. If a werewolf runs out of gnosis (spirit energy) they have to do some arduous tasks to regain it such as hunting down and devouring spirits, making bargains with them, etc which can be dangerous as the spirits might be tainted or corrupted by the Wyrm and any Garou absorbing tainted Gnosis might become corrupted as well.
Why can’t we have a good werewolf focused game??

I loved playing Skyrim on the XBox. You could become a Werewolf with loads of cool moves. I even killed dragons in this mode. You could do this insane pounce & go into a berserk mode. Ahhh those were the days being a lycanthrope might complicate my life somewhat
This reminds me of Saberwulf from Killer Instincts. They should've incorporated some of his moves and graphic details in this game. That would've been awesome.
That one and Jon Talbain from Night Warriors. These Werewolves here are mere jokes in comparison. The KI Sabrewulf is a god wolf more or less like Van Helsing Werewolf which could regenerate. These wolves here are a joke if you think of it.

Its crazy that everything but gameplay is good. Usually with titles like this they work on gameplay first and make it interesting rather than just basic. The order 1886 did more for werewolves in games than this game about werewolves

Sonic the Werehog is how I got into loving Werewolves I don't understand why Sonic fans hate the Werehog so much seriously I like the Werehog and Werewolves and Sonic Unleashed has a Werewolf Transformation too and so does Skyrim we need more Werewolves and Werewolf Characters in Videogames especially Spyro and Rayman.

The cinematics are perfect. Design is great, but the game is just poorly made, it's like a cake that's beautiful on the outside but as you eat it you realize it barely has any taste. It is sadly ironic that one of the best role playing games has such a poor adaptation.

@@azforu29 story maybe, but in 2021, graphic wise they could have done so much better aesthetically - it honestly comes off as a remastered game from ps3 and that is just not good. I still watch my nephew play it but I refuse to.

Decent game, incredibly redundant mission scheme though, not a lot of depth to the character, abilities, or universe of the garu, so it ended up being a bit bland compared to its table top right varient.

Still the closest thing we’ll ever have to a good werewolf game is Skyrim. There’s some cool mods where you can change the werewolf design and transform with the moon changes. That and VTMB. Choose the gangrel option and you can kind a be a shapeshifter werewolf form

This game is *exactly* what you'd expect from a WtA game, straight from the tabletop rules. And yet, people hated it. Even WtA fans hated it. I've always felt WtA lacked any staying power as game, and this just kinda proves my opinion right. "Captain Planet, but as werewolves" just doesn't get people excited, and mindless werewolf rage gets boring and repetitive fast.
That looks like a badass game actually I think I'd like to play that I hope it's for Xbox One wouldn't have dreamed anybody would have made a game like that nowadays you never see things of that nature there's a lot of good ideas out there it's good to see that at least occasionally they'rr used
Video-game-developers have to read the Necroscope trilogy to gauge what metamorphosis of infection can be: series based on the first trilogy make werewolves an infinitely more preposterous height of fearsomeness; trying to kill one of them, tempts it to become cosmic-body-horror, literally requiring a fully-engulfed burning-fuel-truck bearing down on it, to kill.

A bit of a disappointment, but it still brings back nostalgic times with friends, Mountain Dew, dice, books and hours of fun around the table.
Man, I was looking forward to this game too. World/Chronicles of Darkness is my favorite IP. You have this incredible world with endless stories and almost everyone screws it up. Really want them to do well so we could one day have the possibility of a Mage video game. But not at this rate.
