  • State of Our Union A parody sing along to Genesis’ Land of Confusion [Verse 1] We all have dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by ten million screams How long ‘til we hear marching feet Moving back into the streets? Now did you hear his speech that day? He said danger’s gone away But we can see the fires still alight They’re burning into the night [Pre-Chorus] These politicians, too many liars Solving too few problems And not enough love to go round Can’t you see this is the State of Our Union? [Chorus] This is the world we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in [Verse 2] Ooh Superman where are you now? Things unraveling quick and how The ones who own, the ones in power Know they’re losing control by the hour [Pre-Chorus] This is the time, this is the place Now we look to the future Hoping there’ll be some love t’go round Tell me why this is the State of Our Union (Chorus] This is the world we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in [Bridge] Remember not so long ago Ooh, when the sun was shining Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night And the sound of your laughter as you cackled in fright Not long ago [Verse 3] We head into Dylan’s “good night” Nothing gentle will put this right We’re tired of hearing promises That we know you’ll never keep [Pre-Chorus] Population. Too many people Makes for too many problems Not enough love for Earth round Problem is this is the State of Our Union (Chorus] Now, this is the State we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in Yes, this is the life we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) So let’s stand up and start showing (Oh, oh, oh) Just what for life we will do

  • There needs to be a larger quorum in this case. Why not expand the Supremes to included an additional number of legals? Trump's personal "hand-picked" three: Barrett, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch are too recent to press his case forward. At least bring in another three experts or perhaps even survey more experts to join a crafting of a new 2024 Federal Law. We have the internet now - why not use it.

    • When Nixon's case went to SCOTUS, they ruled 8-0 against him. This included 2 of the justices he appointed. The 3rd he appointed abstained because of directly working in his administration.

    • Barrett posed the strongest argument against Trump. That his actions were private & not public. Public acts are granted immunity(which was the assunption already that the liberals dont like because Trump).

  • The defense argues that presidential immunity is crucial because it allows a president to perform duties without fear of future prosecution. This immunity is argued to be essential for the president to make difficult and sometimes controversial decisions in the interest of national security and public welfare. If presidents were worried about potential criminal charges for actions taken in office, it could inhibit their ability to govern effectively, impacting decisions that might be necessary but unpopular. The premise is that without such protections, the presidency could be subjected to judicial interference, potentially paralyzing the executive branch's ability to function decisively and independently. A strong point. In my opinion, I think the immunity is lost when the impeachment process passes the Senate with the two-thirds majority vote. In this case, it did not.

    @Sharingansandninja@Sharingansandninja17 күн бұрын
    • The idea that you will have the ability to impeach a president for committing a crime, especially if the crime is grabbing more power (say trump executing Biden) is extremely foolish. Once someone has the power to do things above the law they can use said power to force the impeachment to end. Once you start this impeachment what stops the president from calling each senator and threating their family with death if the impeachment is not ended the day of the call?

  • No president should be above the law and above the constition. Immunity for an acting president? That's fine. But immunity for a former president? That's a road that can end at a dictatorship! Yes, indeed also acting presidents HAVE to fear persecution for their actions after their presidency. Checks and balances. No absolute power for one branch.

    @lesliespeaker668@lesliespeaker66818 күн бұрын
    • That isnt what is being argued. You listen to quacks on the left. Immunity for public acts not private acts is what is being argued. Not in/out of office. That is the framing the left wants because Trump bad man.
