I'm 6'4" & own a hardtop ( i.e. no sun roof/s ) & I'm a snug ass fit - i use the maximum seat rearwards travel but I'm perfectly comfortable once I'm in. I have worked out a technique of getting in as even the O.E.M seats had reasonably big ( for an O.E.M seat) side bolsters ( adjustable!!!) most aftermarket seats are, - really a bit too big 4 MR's. Some "Bride" models fit O.K. The O.E.M seats are already pretty much on the floor & are at the sill level.... = lower centre of gravity = better cornering ability... If you ever get to look in the "Frunk" (front trunk) check out the battery location - as low as possible.... Excellent design ideas off of the drawing board....

Having said that, if I were you I would do everything possible to ensure that motor is healthy even if it means getting it finished later than anticipated. Even if it means pulling the motor apart and inspecting the bearing surfaces and piston rings.
