We need more villains like this, those that are scary cause of how smart and in control they are.

I used this in a star wars rpg. Thrawn had a cameo and I just described him as "an Alien. Probably a consultant, since, well, empire" but this music was on in the background. About 30 seconds into the scene the "alien" stops them (up to no good of course) and asks a single question, relaying suspicion. My most lore savvy player looks at me and says "you wouldn't." And I go "wouldn't what?". "What does he look like?" My player responds. "You don't recognize the species but a blue skinned humanoid. Appears to be wearing low ranking imperial garb." My player looks at the less savvy players "we need to go now".

Villains without the force and still matches for force sensitives will forever be the most intimidating Star Wars villains

There's a scene in the Legends book, "Heir to the Empire", where I feel that this music would be perfect for. In it, Luke had just escaped an ambush set up by Thrawn by blowing up the Star Destroyer's tractor beam. Thrawn calmly walks to the bridge and asks the tractor beam technician what happened. The technician claims he wasn't trained for anything like the stunt Luke pulled. Thrawn then turns to the technician's commanding officer who explains that the training included scenarios of something like this. Thrawn then asks "Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake?" The officer says no. "An error doesn't become a mistake until one refuses to correct it.." He then motions to Rukh who beheads the technician in an instant. "The error has been corrected."

Grand Admiral Thrawn. The man that you learn to both fear and respect.

Thrawn, the man with a plan for a plan that wasn't planned until the plan for the previous plans failed because he planned for those plans within his plan inside his other plan. Only reason he lost was because plot armor.

Thrawn...the only imperial I've ever respected. Hell, to an extent, even admired

My dream, I think, would be to hear this a good ten seconds before he actually appears in live action. Give us the full buildup for arguably the best Star Wars character ever.

With Kevin Kiner confirmed to compose the score for the Ahsoka show, we’re bound to hear this again once Thrawn shows up!

He reminds me of a vampire: cold, calculating, plays his cards close to the chest, easy to underestimate at times...but you always feel like there's a horrible monster that wants out, just waiting below the surface.

This particular art consists of layers of simple patterns that evoke a sense of tension and dread. This reveals Thrawn's ability to see the simple patterns in an enemy and exploit them to set a near inescapable trap that should fill his adversaries with tension and dread. The tension slowly builds as Thrawn spins his web. A sudden horn flourish comes out of nowhere at 2:07. The horns are surprising just like Thrawn. Thrawn is methodical, but he knows he needs to surprise his enemies to keep them on their toes. I love how you can analyze Thrawn's theme the same way he analyzes his adversaries art and understand his strategies better.

Still one of the best Star Wars themes

This song just screams inevitable doom. No matter what you do Thrawn is going to outwit and defeat you before you've even made your first move.

Finally finished rebels season 3, immediately bought the thrawn trilogy afterwards. He's so fucking cool

Kevin Kiner perfectly captured the essence of Thrawn’s character with this. It’s slow and methodical and soft-spoken, with an air of overwhelming malevolence.

I was seriously not expecting a theme like this to be in Rebels. Every time the pipe organ starts playing I get chills🔥🔥👌🏽👌🏽

Crazy to think, I’ve spent almost THIRTY YEARS imagining seeing this character on screen… The live action debut of the century did not disappoint.

The second we hear this shit next week, I’m gonna lose it lmfao. The organ, man.

I love how it starts out as calm and curious, but then- like everyone else who meets Thrawn- it turns sinister as you realize what his true capabilities are... genius!

Rebels Spoilers: I remember watching him throughout Season 3, and that was my first exposure to Grand Admiral Thrawn. Of course, my father being an avid Legends fan, he knew much about Thrawn's exploits, and so I had heard much about him and knew the general gist, and I wanted to see what the show had in store for him. I was rather confused and a bit frustrated in his earlier episodes - letting the Rebels go despite having the advantage solely for 'study' seemed too much like plot armor, but I came to appreciate what Thrawn was doing over the course of the season. His study of his enemies, his collection of art and thought process made sense to me - I knew that he wanted to understand and make sure he properly dealt with the problem first, but I couldn't tell what he was leading to. The Rebels were growing more and more powerful while he sat back and watched. And then the Season 3 finale came in, and that sold me on Thrawn being one of my favorite villains. He waited until they were ready to strike, and then caught them off guard with a fleet, destroying the majority of Phoenix Squadron while they were in the air so they didn't have time to bunker in and retreat properly. Were it not for insubordination and supernatural forces he couldn't have predicted, Thrawn would have had absolute victory that day. He may be respectful of his enemies, but Rebels pulled no punches in the finale of showing that he does his job, and does it well.

His theme in Ahsoka is alright but this one literally says Thrawn to me, just knowing he would know all your strengths, weaknesses, lies, & truths just by looking at you

I'm imagining hearing his iconic theme before they show him in live action for the true fans to KNOW it's Thrawn coming and get hyped from music alone and really build it up!

I think the perfect intro to live action Thrawn is this starts playing over two characters discussing whatever bad guy is behind the plot they uncovered, camera pans up to the sky, close in to Thrawn sitting in a throne on a starship from behind, end of episode

Such a calm yet calculating theme. A true work of art. If we dont hear this in the ahsoka show then i believe we would of been robbed. Ok Ahsoka's finished releasing and while Thrawn's new theme has alot of his old theme it is very much mostly new. So I'm satisfied. (While it never plays in full in the show Thrawn's theme from Ahsoka is called Thrawn's Arrival.Tthat is the full version of the theme.)

Thrawn is an anti-villain. That's because he is not evil,he is an enemy to the heroes. And he is one of the few imperials who cares about their crew. And is not cruel

The use of the church organ is perfect, it conveys a sense of incoming death but also a sense of ethereal; almost representing how thrawn is militarily and tactically above everyone or a homage to the the chiss 'ascendancy'.

The only issue with this theme is it isn't longer cause I could listen to those horns all day. Everything else, perfection

Honestly 0:49 sounds perfect as the backdrop to like burning bodies and corpses and something just devastating to the protagonists, and the real fans will know it's Thrawn. I imagine this theme playing before Thrawn walks in slowly, talking about how no opponent is unbeatable if you study them. Not even Mandalorians or Jedi.

General rule of thumb is that if the villain you're up against -is soft spoken -dresses sharply -has a theme song containing lots of pipe organ then you are most well and truly fucked.

There are 3 well written vilians: the one u feel sorry for, the one u hate so much, the one that’s to awesome to hate. In my opinion thrawn is a villain that I hate with great passion, he’s written so well

I love this theme. It’s so good and so perfect for Thrawn as a character. This is why Andor was so good. It was the closest the empire got to being like Thrawn. Hot take but he might most be the most intimidating Starr Wars villain but in a very understated way. He’s unfair levels of smart. I can’t freaking wait to see more of him in live action.

The reason Thrawn is such a cool bad guy in star wars is because unlike every single bad guy in any movie or book ever, he doesn't get angry when he or his men fail. Every single minor victory for the rebels is a step closer towards victory for Thrawn, because every time he "loses", he learns, and adds another piece of knowledge to an intricate ever growing plan, one that most definitely would have wiped out the rebellion effectively if it wasn't for the Rebels being the main characters of the show

This is the man, who looked Vader straight in the eye, and called him Anakin (In the novel "Thrawn: Alliances" right after Season 3 of Rebels)

Grand Admiral Thrawn is one of the best Villains in the Star Wars Franchise.

Thrawn is perhaps the smartest and strategic villain in THE STAR WARS SEQUEL i cant wait to see his role in The Mandalorian Season 3 (which FYI drops this December)

I just finished rewatching Rebels, and i stg, every damn time I heard this score come on I was floored by how perfect it was for thrawn’s character, menacing and hauntingly beautiful, like you want to hate it because of what it signifies, but you also gotta be like damn, that’s so fcking good bro
