Improve your TURNING KICK with this NATURAL Martial Art Method! Here I am introducing my idea of a "natural" martial art. It is based on the "Neutral Stance" which is the most efficient position for your body. It is the midpoint of all movement and the optimum position for the spine. Then from this stance I am creating small careful movements or a body flow to generate power and strikes. in particular I am working on the turning kick, which I think is the most efficient kick. It has the best balance between power and speed and it is quite easy to do. This is a new approach to martial arts training so I do hope you will watch through the whole video to get a feeling of what I am trying to do here.

    • Not really no. I might do a very little, but this is a gentle stretch in itself. Just start off slowly. The idea of the neutral stance is that you have stretched as little as possible! So you are moving towards the most relaxed and least stretched position your body can be in. It feels like you are stretching because you are not used to it. The spine is not used to being held in its natural position, so we have to work at it. But once we get it, it is the safest position for the spine. Then I move away from this position very carefully as now I am stretching out and moving towards a greater risk of injury. (When we lift something with a wrong spine we pull a single vertebra because it has moved too far away from its neutral position). So once I have got this stance then I can start to throw kicks and punches away from it, keeping awareness of the spine and trying to use the whole spine to twist and counter twist, not just any single vertebra.
