  • intrestingly the train from RDR2 uses the correct whistle signal for warning people on the tracks. the United States Federal Railroad adminstration's (FRA)General Code of Operating Rules lists "(a) Succession of short sounds for warning persons or livestock that are on the tracks" for the correct whistle signal the FRA didn't exist until 1967 but railroads have been using these signals long before the FRA was established

    • SA has the most unreasonably player-targeting npcs of all Rockstar games probably. So the cars either were trying to be obnoxious to pedestrian CJ, or wrongfully determined due to player positioning that the player is the one driving the train.

    • Me and a friend were out shooting once and were walking a track. Came across a guy cleaning a dog off the track, it was in 1 piece but it was more like a big bag full of stuff. Inside was almost liquefied.

    • In a lineal game you can easily adjust all the lighting and textures in a hallway to make sure it looks great. In a open world game that hallway can be visited at any time of the day. So you can't just precalculate everything because you dont know when the player is gonna see it. Thats the difference.

  • The Warriors one is so unrealistic. In the movie it was but when you get hit by a train you wouldn’t actually just get hit and fall to the ground and roll over on your back like you were able to just take that much impact and die afterwards.

    • It's actual realistically accurate Trains these days (Especially in cities) are run on electricity rather than gas, There is a smaller 3rd rail on most tracks that will shock you if you touch it.

  • Weird that GTA3 downgraded. I guess they probably had to drop the physics because old systems were very picky on performance, but this is the one reason i don't like San Andreas, despite some aspects of it being my favorite in all of GTA... no ragdoll physics lol

    • The GTA1 train doesn’t actually even run you over though, it just “pins” you. In GTA1 & 2 you get electrocuted just from being on the tracks. I’m surprised it didn’t happen faster in #2, I guess it had to do with the movement.
