WWE2k14 is the best WWE game ever made ! Everything is here and perfect till the last minus detail. The possibility of create a story, create a finisher, create a title (arena, mitb), special referee mode, i quit mode, add custom theme songs (on ps3), large roster, 30 years of WM, and of course...the "Double side game box" with Daniel Bryan and The Rock...😏 (only GM Mode missing). THQ was clearly caring of the community and their WWE games 🙌

1. Not only are the steel steps interactive, there is also special commentary when you interact with it. I makes it feel more immersive. 2. I noticed in 2k23 that the blood actually reaches the neck... So at least we got somewhere LOL. But damn, I really miss dripping blood and bloody mats. 3. It really feels like 2k was deliberately teasing us with having only ONE double title entrance in the game. 4. Special referee match is one of the most highly requested from fans. It's mindboggling how 2K keeps ignoring this request. 5. I think 2K is slowly reintroducing the Create-A-Story with their take on the Rivalry system in Universe Mode. I hope they add more cutscenes though.
Some people said the Universe mode action screen is Sometimes Broken when it's shows a blank screen trying too choose a action

@@dr.loomis4221THQ has something to do with it still as the publisher tends to have quite a say in how the game gets made. Unfortunately Yukes has clearly fallen off either way as they also developed 2k15-18 and the absolute snooze fest that is AEW Flop Forever.

I still strongly believe svr 2011 and 2k14 are still the best wrestling games I’ve ever played. Wwe svr2011: the epic and memorable road to wrestlemania storylines. The iconic opening theme song of broken dreams from McIntyre and smoking mirrors from Rhodes. The ability to grab weapons from the crowd and countless awesome interactions from outside the ring, backstage, etc. the nice tired animation after a long match. The game is a easy 20/10 gameplay wise. My only issue is the okay roster but the game is so fun, it’s easily ignored. Wwe2k14: the masterful defeat the streak! The awesome match types. The roster was phenomenal! The 30 years of wrestlemania was amazing! The variety of attires and look for wrestlers. The create your own story line or story mode was awesome! The entire aesthetic of the game itself and the replaceable game covers! Simply phenomenal!

SvR 2011 was decent, but it was missing a lot. I honestly feel that fans create a lot of revisionist history with games from yesteryear.
I agree 100% about WWE 2K14, it was the best one they ever did overall in terms of an overall wrestling game package I do happen to think WWE 2K18 remains the best one they did in recent times, I still play that even now. Only thing that let that game down was the crappy presentation and lack of modes, but the actual match system/gameplay is as good as it ever got in my opinion, that was the first time the engine and system got a meaningful overhaul from all the previous years games. In terms of the Smackdown vs Raw games, I really liked the original one, that was my favourite. The only thing that let it down was that Smackdown HCP had better visuals, for some odd reason the graphics took a downgrade, but maybe it was to cram in all the other stuff.
Best part of 2K14 are the possibilities of superstar, arena and menu mods 🔥🔥🔥
I agree with svr 2011 snd 2k14. Nothing touches the physics on those games. Thats what these newer games are lacking. Not to mention THA always got the entrances mostly right.
Wwe 2k15 was the first game that made me realized and understand graphics is not what makes the game great it's whats inside the game that made it great because think about it the best wwe games we loved growing up didn’t have the best graphics but had great storylines and great reactions and had better storytelling.

I made a wrestler from wrestling empire on the universe mode. She had beef with aksana an interrupted Her match.
Like how when a barricade is broken from a previous match it stays there. You could even see it during a ppv match Still broke.

@@chuckbuskee I agree, play 2k14 gameplay until 2k17 on ps3, it's good but not the best, I think it's too arcade. Imho 2k23 gameplay is the best so far, good balance between simulation and arcade. I just wish the chain wrestling is back with new better system.

The freedom to perform finishers on announce tables in the older games is probably the little detail I miss the most in the newer ones
Idk if anyone remembers this from this game but if edge was about to nail you with his spear out the corner you were able to lift him up and do your catch finisher while he was running at you .. same with Rey mysterio when he would jump after doing the 619

2k14 had great gameplay, but had the horrible character models and animations the series was plagued with since SvR 2011 Case in point: Goldberg's corner spear, Cena and Edge with weird faces, and The People's Elbow looking like it was mocapped by Snoop Dogg at Mania 39

@@theonlyakpochino Because the models and animations in HCTP had tons of personality. Goldberg in that had all his snarling intensity which was sorely missing in 2k14. Cena wore a permanent blank stare on 7th gen games. The Spear, Last Ride, Jackhammer, Rock Bottom and People's Elbow looked incredible and like they'd actually break the victim in two in Here Comes the Pain. Only to all be replaced by pedestrian looking, phoned in animations. 2k14's corner spear and the Jackhammer looked like they were mocapped by/for Gillberg, for example. What worked in 2k14's favor was the massive roster and 30 years of Wrestlemania (even though that had terribly wooden commentary despite being done by JR himself) and the wide assortment of gameplay options plus the creation suite. Without all that, all we'd have was what ps3 players got for 2k15. I'm not going to deny that the game was boatloads of fun, however. Or that 2k23 has several flaws of its own. Just saying that because of how much fun it was, a lot of those flaws get a pass just like with HCTP
I really do miss the Story Designer mode. I had so much fun with it 9:27
1.Every year I hope that the stairs will have a better physics 2.And I don't understand why things like "I quit matches" and Ladder finisher anywhere or to climb the commentators table are not in the game Things like this will make us to actually enjoy the game and not to buy it only for a slightly different My Carrer and a Showcase Don't get me wrong I like the WWE games but...
I like 16 not only did it have a huge roster it had a gritty feel to it that’s something you don’t feel anymore like we used to have in SVR not only did it have the details it has in 14 it has so much more to offer in the career mode

I say it every time when People ask what my favorite wrestling game of all-time is I say WWE2K14. 2K hasn't made a wrestling game as good since. Some people try to convince themselves that this is not the case but it is a fact. The closest to WWE2K14 that they did? Is WWE2K19. 4:57 i don't remember 2k14 having double title entrances, or maybe i didn't use the feature enough to remember, but even though i got the game years after release (at the time already were releasing WWE 2k16) was the release I had the most fun in this generation, along with WWE 2k16 following.
I remember the Xbox 360 versions of 2k games up until they were dropped had double title entrances.

One of the best wrestling games besides HCTP And No Mercy. Perfect mix of arcade and sim style gameplay. I got an RGH Xbox just so i could get the DLC to complete my roster too. This roster is absolutly amazing
I miss when the hell in a cells they you could actaully play outside the ring now it's like punch punch punch takes forever to break the cage
2k14, took all the great things that wwe 13 had and improve them, that is why it was soo good

@@MrAjking808 Gonna have to disagree, 2K23 might have the better gameplay and options in creating a wrestler but the features and content are far better in 2K14, such as story designer, a more coherent showcase mode, and entrance suite where it is simple and had more features. Not to mention the MyRise mode is incredibly grindy and tedious, and in The Lock mode, stuck as a character who is an unlikeable twat, plus a buggy MyUniverse mode, lacking further polish in the Entrance suite, and so on.

The perfect video game would have the weapon interactions of WWE 11-2K14 The matches from previous games The Multiple Weapon Customization from 2K20 The Full Showcase mode of a certain superstar/superstars PPV/PLE or era instead of selective matches The controls of WWE 2K23 The Paybacks of WWE 2K19 & 2K20 Old Entrance themes & motions especially if 1 or more are still in company or game
Along with Here comes the pain, Shut Your Mouth, 13, and the classic N64 duelogy it’s the best! Near Perfect roster, super great gameplay with a damn good balance, and everything you can select and create is fantastic. If we could’ve kept the gameplay style of ‘14 and added elements of old back in like original Season Mode, things like climbing the stages, and music in the background instead of commentary. It would be delightful

Create-A-Story was awesome. Don't like how the shows are booked. You could do CAW and do up your own episodes of RAW, SD and even PPV (I can't remember if NXT was in at this stage). You had cutscebes to go backstage scenes and in-ring promos. You could do anything. Also, you could do up a show and the upload it online, for others to download it, and there was a trophy for doing it.
Create a story needs to return definitely it would make wwe games have Longevity and not get boring so quickly
Thougt I was the only one. Idk why nobody asked for it. Probably because most players are just marks and dont care about the cutscenes etc.

I've always found it weird that the wwe games add stuff each year but as this video shows and there are other examples like create a finisher, slobber knocker mode, they take stuff away. I know they changed developers but still. Also you can do multi man matches backstage in 2k23. You gotta download a s special show someone made, but its 100% possible until they patch it out. Just KZhead search it

Most of the creativity went out the way because of so called « copyright issues » (like the fact we can no longer used imported songs from our consoles and have to use these busted generic songs from the menu or ones from the existing roster ) , that’s why 2k23 will be the last game I’ll play until they come up with a next gen version of 2k14 or svr11

*Special Referee matches are possible in 2k23 via a modded shows you can download off of community creations. Sadly due to a bug that causes the ref to disappear in created arenas when you use them in exhibition matches. The mod is useless until the bug gets patched. Or you just re download the mod every time you turn on your game in order to have special referee matches. * Only things I say that are better in WWE 2k14 and things that are missing in 2k23 apply to games going as far back as SVR 2010. And they are Create A Story, Body sliders and morphing in create a wrestler ( older games were considered the best in all video games for its custom character creator options), Being able to give female wrestlers huge anime tiddies, boob jiggle physics, and Create A Finisher. Outside of these things everything else is subjective to me. Inferno match you played once or twice and rarely played it again. I bought the accelerator DLC because I didnt want to play all those matches in the showcase mode to unlock all the wrestlers. I rarely used the steel steps in matches because I mostly used female CAWs. I dont play a lot of extreme match types( ladder,TLC, table, ect). I got into wrestling games at a later age ( in my early 30,s when I bought SVR 2009. Been buying wrestling games ever since) than most. So playing these games as a crazy wacky stunt simulator to recreate crazy wrestling spots on TV was not something I buy these games for. I will say not being able to climb the announce table is something I miss. As well as certain OMG,s. * Backstage areas were better in 2k14. But because of a modded show you can download off of community creations you can have 8 men backstage brawl in that one area in 2k23. Something you could not do in previous 2k and SVR games. Other than the things I mentioned WWE 2k23 is a better overall game than 2k14. I put WWE 13 over WWE 2k14.
I own a ps3 now but I still have my old PS 2 slim in which I used play SmackDown vs the raw 2011 and what's crazy about this is that that 2k14 and 2011 are crazy similar like really similar I guess thq used it as the base game thus there the same
It seems no matter how old I get it seems like every generation has that one game in a franchise thats hits deep with you as a kid and it becomes the standard for future games that you compare every single feature to. For me and alot of my friends and people of my generation compared everything to either No Mercy or Here Comes The Pain to every single wrestling game that came out. I was already checked out and lost interest by WWE 13. I might just be getting too old or burned out by them at this point. So I guess I just missed 2k14 😂
I wont mind if the Cena and Rey showcase modes were a bit lighter so they could work on a 40 years of Wrestlemania showcase for 2K24...
Attitude Era models of wrestlers like The Rock, 30 years of Wrestlemania, only a few things you had to emulate when playing actual past WWE matches.
Mate, the Ladder finisher used to be, until 2k22, locked in the abilities, such as the table finishers
Best rhing about 14 was the monsterous roster it is to this day the best. 23 may have many legends but not enough from a single era (my two favourite eras being attitude and ruthless agression) there just isnt enough these days

I will say the commentator one can’t really be helped. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are iconic in those games, but time and injury, specifically with things like Lawler’s stroke prevent him from being full time with anything in WWE. I will say thats why I’m excited for AEW Fight Forever. It looks like its going back to the SVR and 2K14 days.

My biggest complaint about 2k22 is the controls they should have kept the controls from 2k19 or even 2k20 nothing was wrong with them there were things that needed to change but not the controls if they don't revert back to the old controls and get rid of the combos and block features then i probably won't buy it we don't need combos or blocks in a Wrestling game if you want that in a game go play some of the popular side scroll fighting games leave the wrestling games alone. The speed of the game is fine and unlimited reversals that's great and i would enjoy the game more if the controls get changed back and probabaly change the pin style back to the B button it's awkward having to use the Joystick to Pin someone. If they combined the Graphics and modes of 2k22 and the detailed features of 2k19 with there control scheme i think it would be the best wrestling 2k game I'm hoping 2k23 might be it.
