I have a BMW 5 series estate. It is a year old. I am very disappointed with the look of the new 5 series, it is too similar to my 2016 model. My dealership in France also sells Opel. I have had a look at the new Insignia. It is much better value than the BMW and just as big inside and imposing on the road. I can own a new Insignia estate for less money than buying my 518d when it is three years old with 90,000 kms and no warranty. BMW want €27,500 for it at the end of the lease. They must be joking! The Insignia appears to be just as well made as a BMW 5 series and it was nice to see that Opel employ a mature and experienced workforce on the production line.

There is definitely a difference in quality, we have to admit, but not that big that it used to be in the past. The Opel is offering alot of kit for its money and big discounts, BMW on the other hand, can get up to 80.000E or even more for a similar spec. I like the Opel's design more as well, the one in the video is stunning.

I give Insignia 5* over all and especially over quality /price.
I think you can't compare a bmw 5 Serie with the new Opel Insignia sorry.. But in my opinion Opel is on the right way to build much better Cars!

Of course, it is perfectly fine if one takes into account the price. Present a BMW which costs as much as the Insignia and see what it offers. Always compare an expensive BMW with a cheap competitor - it is a fixed game. A fair comparison would change all and show that BMW is a myth.
I always hope Opel will beat BMW. While both are good looking car, BMW design are up to modern, never futurist. Opel design are more progressive and offer something different than all too familiar BMW.
Opel is changin a lot and getting much better every year whereas bmw is making a little changes and staying where it is. Comprasion of these cars is not true. 320d would be better choice to compare. However opel will be better than 320d.
