With its length of 363 meters, width of 66 meters and height of 72 meters, the Harmony Of The Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The 120,000 ton giant has space for more than 6,300 passengers who can enjoy themselves on the longest slide at sea or in one of two surf pools, among other things. • My parents' first cruise was on a much smaller ship, Song of Norway, a Royal Caribbean ship as well, in 1980. They loved the cruise line--then all was included. This video is fascinating and also rewarding to see the guest service staff celebrated with respect. I was once a hotel guest service worker in the Napa Valley, where I was raised--hotels being cruise ships that do not float (lol). That led to a travel career as a hotel systems' implementation lead and instructor, letting me travel the world like these cruise ship employees, always respecting those who work in tourism, which brings cultural understanding and also joy for tourists. I have never been on a cruise ship, but I sailed on the Dover-Calais ferry twice, the two sailings a month apart, and was amazed how something so large, with a food court, stores and lounges, could even move so smoothly thru the waves since it was a stormy day both trips, with waves of several feet.

  • I was suppose to join there in May 2018. But my last contract was so bad that I felt we are working as a slave in the ship. Working onboard over the years made me realized that the quality of life is poor. I've been in the ship for 5yrs and that's it. I got another opportunity and living peacefully here in Australia. Salute to all my paisanos.

  • 4 years ago, I sailed out of Barcelona on Freedom of the Seas. We stayed in Barcelona several days before getting on ship. It has to be my favorite place. Southern Italy and Southern France are a close second. I was on Allure of the Seas for an island cruise. It’s huge and I think RC second biggest ship. That ship also had a Central Park and looks the same as this ship. But, Celebrity is a little classier with better food. Did a 12 day UK/Northern France (75th Ann Normandy), Belgium cruise sailing out of Amsterdam. You get to see a lot on a cruise ship.

    • Same here, seems ridiculous to pay big money than do a bunch of stuff you can do at home. Water slides, really? Pay big money to eat and go to bars, really? Swim in a pool? Some ships have bowling, really? Money to burn I guess. I get that it's just entertainment between ports, but you really don't get much time at any one port either, you don't really get to see much of anything beyond the tourist traps.

    • @@marcuslinton310 Yeah I agree, u don't stay long enough, or even see enough of a place in order to immerse yourself into the culture. Then again, a cruise up the fjords in Norway would be difficult to pass up. • Been on Oasis and Allure the original 2 ships and nice to see Royal Caribbean continuing to improve ships that were already top notch. Harmony is even more elegant that Oasis. There is nothing like the Oasis class ships at sea, there as revolutionary now as they were nearly 15 years ago

    • I completely agree. I’ve been on both the original Oasis, as well as the Harmony. I won’t cruise the Caribbean with any other cruise line, and it’s always gotta be on an Oasis-class ship. That being said, I lament the recent menu changes, but that’s another topic.

  • While the HM was still at st. Nazaire, I was walking around inspecting the escape room on deck 12 (if I’m not mistaken), when I open a door to the control room a small bird flew around and landed on my hard hat, we had just left on a 2 day sea trial, so before we got to far from land I was able to catch it and set if free from central park. The flamingo story reminded me of that occasion.

My partner and I took full advantage of the amenities that come with purchasing one of the suites. liven La Vida loca some may say xD. Harmony of the seas is a ship that is not just about the destination but about its many features on board. Its main deck boasts a large space with shopping, restaurants and more. Titus (my partner) and I have to admit we fell victim to the ships Casino, having lost some money we decided to retreat back to our suite and watch our favourite Netflix series Virgin River. All and all Titus and I give the ship a rating of 8.7 as we felt upkeep of the room could of been more frequent.
