Hey Ilinnuc
I'm all for Geogan's, as long as they don't overdo it like they already did. I get why people got worried. Too many gimmicks killed the legacy series back in the day.
I loved that about the original game, having weapons, vehicles, armor, etc. for the mons. This game has the advantage of having such stuff as just cards though.
Agreed, about the only gripe with this would be if the character cards for the Geogan being obtainable through packs, which I hope won’t be the case.
@@cyberdragoon1432 Well, JettKuso did propose the scenario of having several cards, but not the toy, so...
We're worried because in 3 seasons we got 3 new gimmicks. If that trend continues, it's easy to predict a repeat of history, especially when the gimmicks start looking exactly the same as the ones that became part of the problem.
@@ScoptOriginal To be fair, the gear did nothing. I mean, Legacy had Gear as toys while this version has its "gimmicks" as new cards with little mechanics.
Someone with more disposable income than me: once there are 40 geogan released, make a deck entirely of geogan, 1 copy each.
I REALLY want this to happen
Still sell Geogans!,,
If they are ancient Bakugans, the game should be playable with two decks purely made by only Geos going against each other
When I was 7 or 8 I played Bakugan and then I stopped. About a month ago I saw a video of yours and remade me to play again and buy new Bakugan. Thank you very much!!! #goodluck #goodwork #keepgoing 👍😜
Dude, me too! I stopped when I was 8 or 9 years old. but after Jett popped in my youtube feed I started watching, and now I'm waiting for my first 5 Bakugan from the new series to come in the mail, and am currently trying to make a friend of mine buy some too so we can brawl each other.
Oh I stopped at 4 years old
I stopped somewhere in grade school and I have Jett to thank for my renewed interest as well
When i was 8-9 I liked bakugan, but never have one. But then Jett Popped on my recommended and i started waching. Now I:m a big fan and I'm looking for some old ones on ebay
I personally loved the traps in the legacy series so I don't see anything inherently wrong with this just as long as we don't go down the dark slope of gundalien invaders and mechtanium surge
Yes
For me, it was Drago constantly evolving, it became too repetitive for me. No wonder Pokemon has limits on how many times a Pokemon can evolve
When i heard there was no limit on how many Geogan you could put into a deck i felt a little worried, a one or two geogan limit would be fine in my book, but i feel like some might go overboard with like a deck full of Geogan lmao
I have been blessed by the Bakugod
Hi! My son, Eli wanted me to let you know that all of his Geogans do actually fit in the standard Bakugan case. :) Thanks for all the great videos!

I love how the shapes are smooth. I always hated how the og traps always had parts that tried to make them look more spherical. It was as if they started with a sphere in 3d paint, put a shape inside of it and made the shape just big enough so you can see the sphere on the sides.
I think they dont matter considering they don't sell Geogans in egypt

Everything that you’ve explained about Geogon gives me great insight and valid points to give it a try, and I’m happy you gave your honest opinion on both perspectives to simply say “It IS optional, it is NOT forced upon the game itself like how the legacy series was” and overall, this tells me so far, Spin Master and the Bakugan TCG are doing great so far to look back on past mistakes and make them better.
I just want to say thank you again for being the best Bakugan youtuber, and for bringing popularity to this awesome game! I'm also sure I'm not the only one that will say "Why can't Bakugan be as popular as Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon?"
I'm pretty much where you are, they look cool and fun, think rules need so tweaking, but aren't too harmful as they are. I agree they need to focus on keeping the game strong and focusing what they do on the game. But fun toys related to he show that don't butcher/nerf regular gameplay and make a pay to win scenario- are fun by me. Make characters figures, like the big drago- and let them have nothing to do with the game and be for those kids who could buy it out of cool factor and fun.
The only thing I’ve ever disagreed with you about Jett. You said they look better than old trap bakugan, but I have to say I really like the smaller size and actual factions/ attributes compared to spin master getting carried away with translucent plastic pieces, making diamonds feel less exciting. However I do agree that the colours are better.
I loved this video format, being serious but having unexpected comedy moments is great
Thank you!! It's very fun to write stuff like this.
I found this channel about a month ago; I don't even play or have ever played bakugan but the videos are so high quality that I had to subscribe.
There is no law regarding the amount that can be used
I'm not going to use more than one per team out of principle though.
Imma make a whole deck of geogan lmao
Wait seriously? You can use over 30 geogan in one deck?
@@konikonitrainerwill5969 theoretically your whole deck can be entirely comprosed of geogan.
Maybe the scarcity of them will self regulate them in gameplay 🤷🏻♂️
Definitely excited for Geogan for both their aesthetic and gameplay value! I have a pretty big deck box that could fit a couple of them with my 40 card deck if I needed to, so at least for me I don't have to break out the ziplock baggies yet hahah! Hope to start seeing geogan pop up around my area soon, great video Jet!!!!
Glad I found your channel! New to the bakugan world and your videos are helping me research the latest and greatest as well as become more competitive and make good purchase decisions.
I don't really play the game but am just a kid who likes to collect the toys. I'm still in the same mentality as I was when the legacy series was out, in that Bakugan to me is a toy first and game second. But that's just me and I am super happy to see a legitimate fun game being created now with the reboot. I definitely want that cube boi and probably will add a line of Fenneca's to my shelf of all the Pegatrix's I've got. Keep up the good work Jet and great video!
I too am worried that the reboot might head down the "Mechtanium Surge" sownfall Legacy did. As long as they don't go too bananas on the writing and give it care in the anime, it could still work. My opinion on this is that the executives are trying way harder to rely on new gimmicks each and every half a season because they are trying to keep the kids interested. Like, make the new Bakugan, make more species that are interesting! Just don't market a new gimmick that will somehow break up this brand we looked forward to resurging for years to.
I think the worries could be solved easily while still having support pieces being made by simply have two types of games, one with support pieces and another type without them
@@serina3872 Exactly.
Sluggler might be my favorite looking Bakugan I've ever seen, sculpt looks amazing compared to pretty much anything else.
I haven't started the reboot but I'm excited to honestly, the Bakugan traps were one of my favorite things back in the day and I was very upset when they just abandoned them and the story they hyped up back during new vestroia so this is a dream come true
They should have you lightly toss the geogan instead of directly dropping it then it's more likely to miss
Or just place it, which doesn't run the risk of breaking it
@@Fennaixelphox placing it gets rid of the chance of it not deploying, you have to have Sooooome risk to the move
@@emanuelemanuel7038 Then just make a rule where you roll a specific type of dice or something like that- You roll good you can put your Geogan on a BakuCore. You roll bad then you can call it a failure. Basically any method that doesn't break your toy is fine.
Geogan look cool AF. Clear plastic and new shapes have my attention.
I think they should make a limit on how many gimmicks you’re allowed to use in a deck. Maybe a rule of plastic; Say, you can only use 3 non-bakugan pieces of plastic. Also, In my games as a custom rule, you’re gonna have to drop your geogan with one eye closed and at a level height. For now, I’m on team ‘chill its not a big deal’, but if hasbro makes another support piece class in the next set, I’m gonna switch sides.
I was into Bakugan back during Legacy. I'm slowly learning the new format, and this channel has helped SO much

Totally agree with this analysis and while I find it concerning, it’s time to chill out a bit and have some faith in spinmaster this time around. Found myself going down the slippery slope one too many times. And hey, I really like the pyrus griffin geogan and the Ventus viper, if they make more cool designed ones like that I wouldn’t be so opposed to the gameplay changes

My 4 and a half year old just got into Bakugan and this channel has been extremely vaulable in understanding what's what for this old school TCG player 😁 Keep the content coming!
Awesome video Jett! Enjoyable as always! Love the content and like hearing your thoughts on the game! I think you brought really good points about gimmicks and imbalance with new gameplay mechanics. I think geogans lie in the middle for me from your description. Having seen similar things happen in other games with a tcg it all depends on actual play and future support for the mechanic so it can go either way honestly. I think if they changed the dropping mechanic to rolling/sliding like you mentioned in your unboxing vid would be a better idea but thats just a thought. Can't wait for your next vid!
They are cool toy, however I like round and circle more. But doesn't mean I hate geogan, I like them!

I haven't ever played Bakugan but have played warhammer 40k so seeing more toys show up in a game isn't that big of a deal and if there were a more advanced version of Bakugan with more figures and maybe terrain that would be cool, but then it's no longer a game for kids were getting into more of minifig game for people with disposable income.
Haha yeah absolutely. Miniature games are great, but there’s a big difference between that and a TCG. Bakugan does kinda tow the line.

I wasn't gonna post a comment, but since you're serious. Did you know you can use a rolling technique on B1 Juggernoid that allows it to jump off of a Gate Card and land on the Gate Card behind it? Thank you for mentioning that about the depth perception, I can't see with one eye and, yeah, things like that are hard
honestly i'm not too worried.. I'm a collector so i've just been buying every version of the bakugan and will continue though I also like to play the TCG and in that aspect I think an easy solution is simply update the rule to allow only 1 or 2 Geogan per deck. And I definetly like the simplicity of just needing the deck of cards and the 3 bakugan so maybe by implementing an actual skill check like an actual reroll or other would make the use of Geogan more significant in the TCG. I live in Quebec Canada and not many people here are actually interested in the Bakugan TCG sadly but it is very fun to play with my friends that I could introduce the game to ^^ JettKuso, Thank you for making these videos and not only being fun to watch but also informative and helping the comunity understand this game :)
What Bakugan are the best for people who are interested in the toys rather than the game?
Well if you want to play the toy battling game, then you woule essentially just want to buy high B power Bakugan. If you're buying them from a purely collectional perspective, then that's all based on you and your prefences on Bakugan, the faction color design, the design itself etc. But of course regardless from what perspective your doing it from, you have to do your research.
Hylash and scorpion are the greatest trap bakugans in terms of how they look
Fusion Bakugan are some of my favorite toys that have come out, so I'd say fusions?
I mean fusion are "the strongest" bakugan. Usually being so. They are the "coolest looking" bakugan in all honestly cause the more detail they have to put into one gan. Other than that core, ultra and fusion's all are strong, and good to use.
@@JettKuso Thanks. I'm just one of those teenagers who used to stick bakugan to things around their house as a kid.

10:03 hey ziplock deck boxes are fine *cries in corner*
I feel like they change a bit, but they aren’t going to mess with too much, and at least it ain’t that bad, it’s not mechtogan all over again, if they do stuff I don’t like, I’ll still have Fire Emblem.
So geogan are just copy’s of traps. COOL. “I didn’t love virginity enough to do it once I had to do it twice” -Spinmaster 2021
I'm a brand new Bakugan player (as in I just got home from the store with my first starter pack and a few boosters earlier today). I also have to wear glasses and have a nerve disorder in my hands that causes pretty bad hand tremors that make fine motor skills very difficult. I definitely think it's good that you brought up disabilities and the possible challenges that disabled people face, and I can see how this mechanic of the game can raise the barrier to entry for some players. As I'm just joining the Bakugan scene, I'm not familiar of any disabilities accommodations that exist, but I think that with some tweaks the game could be more inclusive. I know the legacy series had those wrist things that shot out the bakugan for you, so maybe have a tool that players could use that can help them roll the bakugan (the mental picture I have in my head is at bowling alleys how they have those rails that can help small kids or disabled people roll the ball if it's too heavy for them). As for the Geogans, maybe having some kind of measuring or alignment tool to help guide their eyes and hands during the process.
That green slime thing you were talking about in 1:58 I’m getting something similar! I’m getting the aquos stardox
Bro pls do more classic bakushowdowns
This is amazing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I only have the bakugan I got as a kid. Thought about buying the modern bakugan but I'd be the only one in my area that would even be interested. Plus I don't watch the show so I have no connection to the newer toys in any way but that said I do enjoy learning the new game and watching it played. And these new bakugan from this video look neat. I really like the idea of them being optional but I like the idea of someone making them useful without it being overpowered and everyone has that same trick. I would like to see it more along the lines of an archetype booster. Like you mentioned in the video about haos being the only one that could snipe cores before these new bakugan. And it may not be useful for other decks to play with that gimmick but make the deck that dose play with that gimmick more versatile and fun with its options and against you don't have to run them if you don't want to. I hope other of these new bakugan have abilities that help boost certain archetype abilities. I maybe wishful thinking but those are my thoughts and my requested comment. Enjoyed the video and can't wait for the next one.
Love this guys vids
Hi Jettkuso I will be back in three hours
Waiting gang ✌
I think the big thing that is being missed when people bring up how bakugan already requires toys is that because of the life decking mechanic in the reboot Bakugan is one of the few games that doesn't require dice. Three marble sized spheres replacing d20s or a box of d6s is fine. It's basically as easy to store. A bunch of unwieldy toys that are often bigger or more oddly shaped requires much more unique storage. This is probably why the original traps were so boring looking. They had to be common shapes that were easy to store.
Happy New Year !
where do you buy all those bakugan form? i only can find 5-10 sorts of bakugan :(
They release randomly all over the place, so they'll get to you eventually.
I’m telling you jetts going to be the next world wide Bakugan news 😂 and thanks for explaining everything so clearly
I like toys and support mechanic for one move, but I don't want to take another toy and drop it from a height
First of all, GREAT video: I'm glad that you discussed both sides and both the concerns and praise folks have for Geogan. I too love these as toys, and as someone who focuses more on the toyetic aspect of the line than the TCG they're an absolute treat...but as someone who also plays the TCG, hoo boy does the whole idea of too much plastic bits and Ziploc deckboxes bring me fear. I also really, REALLY appreciate you bringing up the topic of skill mechanics and how they limit this game for folks with disabilities, it's a point I see overlooked a LOT in discussion of the TCG, and one I think more Bakugan fans and Spinmaster themselves need to keep in mind: TCGs have largely been disability friendly, or, at the very least, disability neutral. They're able to be played by people with a lot of different neurological, fine motor, and muscular disabilities, but Bakugan precludes many established TCG players who are disabled from playing. The need to sit at a height that allows you to see the entire field, have fine motor control to aim and roll for specific cores, and now needing to stand and move your arm over the Matrix to drop Geogan, I think, are points overlooked by the designers and the community. Now, that's not to say Bakugan is inherently flawed due to the skill mechanic with the toys and the way the game is set up: it merely just precludes an audience that's already present in the TCG world, narrowing the reach of Bakugan compared to traditional TCGs. I also like that you discuss the fear of needing to buy additional game pieces: it's already like pulling teeth at my local game store to get people to try out the game. 30$ is a looooooot to ask for people to take a risk on a starter deck for a new game, getting cool magnetic monster marbles in the box or no. I've had plenty of folks ask what me and the other brawlers are playing at my LGS, but even after letting them borrow decks and/or sit in on a few rounds, teaching them and showing them the ropes in the game, when you lead them over to the starter decks they're always cringing at the price of entry. Obviously, I don't expect Spinmaster to give away their product/bite the bullet on toy production costs, but, if they are out there/if they happen to come across this, I got one thing to say: keep it simple, keep it fun. You've already precluded TCG players with disabilities AND those who are put off by the pricetag from entering the game and becoming long-term players and customers: the more toyetic pieces you add to the game that are necessary for decks, the more you're gonna scare off the already smaller base you have than most for the TCG. Those who get into the game are hooked, as it's amazingly fun and stands out in the market, but DON'T turn into something along the lines of Legacy, where you need 6+ toys to play...especially when what TCG players crave is fun new card mechanics, balanced metas, and a core game that's easy to learn but hard to master. Anyways, thanks for the vid, Jett, as well as the chance for all of us baku-nerds to vent and discuss in the comments. Take care.
This is amazing, thank you SO much for sharing your perspective on this. Voices like these are important to listen to!
