KAWAH RATU GUNUNG SALAK
Mount Salak's crater, known as Kawah Ratu, resulted from its last eruption in 1938. Covering approximately 2 hectares, the crater still emits water, hot vapor, and sulfur gas. Over the years, it has become a popular hiking destination, showcasing a captivating natural phenomenon. The ascent to Kawah Ratu takes about 1.5 hours (3.5 km) from the Kawah Ratu Resort office in Cidahu. Along the trek, there is a field spanning around 0.75 hectares, suitable for camping or drone flights. Due to high sulfur content, visitors are prohibited from descending into the crater, with access restricted.
