Timothy "autimatic" Ta, former star rifler of Cloud9 and Gen.G and currently teamless, is the star of the 348th Episode of 'Reflections'. This episode is part one of two about autimatic's career.
autimatic is one of North America's best ever talents and one of only five NA players to win a major. After grinding away in the invite level of NA CS for years autimatic got his break joining Cloud9 and soon helped the team upset SK Gaming, the world's number one team and reigning major champions, to win ESL ProLeague S4 Finals in Brazil.
Cloud had their ups-and-downs in 2017, struggling early only to put on a summer run which included a finals finish at ESL One Cologne. The major was a bust and so after roster moves Cloud9 retooled and again established themselves as one of the better teams in the world. This culminated in the shocking upset victory at the ELEAGUE Boston major, as C9 overcame a FaZe who had routinely dominated them and pulled out one of the great's most legendary wins.
After Stewie departed for SK, autimatic stuck around on seemingly constantly changing C9 rosters. There was some hope for the international line-up, featuring players like flusha and golden, but out-of-the-game circumstances colluded to prevent that line-up ever properly getting a good run of events.
Gen.G was the last stop in CS:GO for autimatic thanks to the online period of play and he decided to try his luck on T1 in VALORANT. The team reached a competent level domestically but could never qualify for the LAN tournaments and so his year was quieter than perhaps expected. In 2022 he returned to CS:GO to join Stewie and RUSH in Evil Geniuses.
The team notoriously struggled and an out-of-the-blue upset win over Heroic, the number one ranked team, at BLAST Spring groups was the lone high point. EG has since disbanded the roster and autimatic is currently teamless.
This interview was recorded on the 15th of January, 2024.

Also I was hoping to see him pick the awp back up since he came back to CS, but now I'm just hoping he stays in the game irregardless. But he'll find success anywhere, hes a legend.

  • When Auti is discussing his relationship with Tarik ad Valens the term Stoicism comes to mind. That and comparisons to NAF were constant, although as a NAFfa, I'm a little biased, still it gave me a little more respect for Auti. Also Shox comes to mind with the Valens part, depends on the angle one takes. (Shoxie ironically idolised by NAF to complete the circle)
