The airport near me do training flights. Touch down and go usually over the summer months.
It’s amazing to see what’s involved in the day-to-day operation of an airline. It’s absolutely incredible! This past summer I flew from my native country of Sweden to the United States, as a passenger, on board Scandinavian Airlines new A350-900. I looked at the in-flight entertainment screen in front of me and it said that we were at an altitude of 43,000 feet! I gave that some thought. That is 13,000 feet higher than the summit of Mount Everest! How is that possible??!!

Not sure if it was, but I flew out from Gatwick to Malaga on the 9th September 2023, the captain who was sat on the left looked a lot like Cornelius, only with slightly more blonde hair.

Would be cheaper to join the RAF & get your training.Then you could fly transport aircraft like the Hercules or the A330 Voyager
This is a very competitive selection process though so I suppose it’s risky, and difficult. Further, you don’t pick what sort of platform you fly, it can be fast jet, rotary or fixed wing aircraft.

No, the co-pilot is called the First Officer. There is a Captain and a First Officer in the cockpit
MrPhil1503 I am not so dum of course I know there is a FO and CP but two stripes is called the Second Officer in some cases. And I even know there can be three captains in a flight.

well ,we have one trainee pilot whos far more concerned with taking "selfies " on his phone rather than doing his job properly and checking that the cabin is secure and another pilot who is far more concerned about his love life and (along with the absent captain ) is allowing the cabin crew to sit in the captains seat and discuss blind dates at 30,00ft !! it clearly doesnt come across as being a "professional " airline !!!
