according to their news page, that bidoof isn't part of his team. It looks like it's going to work like the pokeride system in Sun and Moon only it calls on wild pokemon rather than a service. Not a perfect system, but definitely better than HMs

As a note: The HMs are from wild Pokémon you can call to help you, not your party. Basically Alola’s ride Pokémon. Given that, I love that Bidoof and Bibarel seem to be doing most of them.

Can we just take a second to appreciate the fact they didn't bother to try to redo the main screens on the Poketch app that's from D/P/Pt? The nostalgia I got from seeing that gave me goosebumps ngl
They are using the models on the Poketch instead of the sprites, but otherwise, it's the same.
I kind of wished they did update the Poketch look to look like the Gameboy Advance like it looked like the Gameboy in the original.

Not quite. As it turns out, the HM moves in this game are used by wild Pokémon instead of our own. And since it’s a Pokétch App now, we can go through Sinnoh with our favourite Pokémon. 🙂

The visuals have definitely improved a lot since the first trailer, a lot of areas look really nice! And seeing Gallade is a good sign of us getting the Platinum Pokédex!

Um, what? Gallade (along with the other then-new-evolutions) is from Diamond/Pearl, why would Platinum matter for that? Obviously it will incorporate content from Platinum, as that is the norm for the remakes (to include the 3rd version's content; Gen 1 was an exception, as there was no new content added in Blue to add to Red/Green and instead they created the whole Sevii Island area. Yellow was the 4th Anime version. Remember, it's from Japan, not America.). There is also content added from later, such as the Fairy Type, which will likely drastically shift some battles' difficulty.
He means to say that in Diamond/Pearl, Gallade and Porygon-Z were only part of the National Pokédex, whereas in Platinum, they were included in the Regional Pokédex.
@@JarieSuicune a lot of the new evolutions in D/P weren’t obtainable until post game, because of this, there were only two fire types, Platinum fixed this though, so that’s why we’re happy about it
God I HATED the DP pokedex. So frustrated at the the time when I learned I'd have to chat to get Glaceon before E4.
They fixed the lighting engine which was the only thing bothering me. This game is looking better and more polished than sword and shield. This is the most excited I have ever been for a remake.

@@Name-gw1fu At minimum it will be Gen 1-4, as they basically all show up in Platinum (which these games incorporate, being remakes). It is also quite possible that it will have support through Gen 8, though it might not for purity sake (I personally feel that less likely, as the models and such have already been developed for Sword/Shield) which will make it amusing to see people scream and whine about not having whichever Pokemon past Gen 4 that they want like they did with Gen 8.

The official website calls HMs an app, so maybe we only need certain Pokémon that can use the HMs, but don't actually have to use up a move slot, which is really neat
It says call upon wild pokemon so it must be like sun and moon where you had dedicated pokemon to each HM separate from your team.
I want the game even more now the art style is less and less bugging me as more good news comes out

Getting rid of HM slaves is a huge improvement, to say the least. I'm still not quite sure how I feel about the more chibified graphics, but they're growing on me a little bit. I just wonder what new features will be added
I heard that these games are going to be as close to the original games as possible which is perfect! They did add in some cool customization features though!
The overworlds used to be chibi too, although it did come as a shock to me at first too. It's slowly started growing on me some.
You realize Pokemon started out with Chibi style sprites, right ? Cause if you think it's always been like the artwork in game it wasn't As for *New* features ? There are none, if you're hoping for Megas or Dmax Give up on that, Sinnoh Lore never has Mentioned Pokemon who could change form in Battle nor have they ever talked about Pokemon going into Dmax forms In Legends there are the Noble Pokemon but those are purely BOSS forms not the Forms of Pokemon we can use
How do we know there aren't HM slaves? Being able to use them from the poketch doesn't mean that pokemon still don't have to learn the moves

I absolutely feel you! My first pokemon game (And the first game I ever owned). But all of the gen IV games were masterpieces and the thing that hyped me up the most about this video was the remastered gym leader theme. It sounded so much better than I imagined! I was not disapointed.
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 eh not really, I started with gen 1 and while I do like kanto I ALWAYS preferred sinnoh over every other region. Something about sinnoh clicked with me. Music, environment, Pokémon, and the anime gave sinnoh a welcome back at home feeling if that makes sense.
0:36 The funniest thing here is they still make fun of Bidoof being an HM slave. But for the love of Arceus, PLEASE don't make me carry an HM slave and then some to Victory Road.

No, that's the Feeding Mechanic Pokemon in the original Gen 4 games didn't move as sprites So food and items were just shown to be "Tossed" at tbe Pokemon

The best part for me was finding out you can walk with all your party. Indeed, a great addition.
That might actually be still limited to a certain select number of small Pokemon. I have not seen anything suggesting otherwise.

The overly chibi look of the overworld sprites caught me off guard when these were first revealed, but I gotta admit I've come around on them.
For sure, don't want this to be the norm for remakes but I'm digging it now. Love the way the environment looks now too, especially the water

@@theramendutchman That is likely unintentional and will not be the case in the final release (assuming that wasn't just a translated scene for the video). Though, it could be they will include the Romaji of the Japanese names. I dunno, I always play Pokemon in Japanese regardless.

Well this trailer told me that I'd been misremembering his name as Aaron for many, many years because of the movie. XD
I think Sir Aaron was intended to be Riley's ancestor since they both look alike and use Lucario. That's what I've always assumed, anyway. It's weirder if that isn't the case.

@@Mgaffo222 I kind of like it still because it differs from the rest of the 3D figured styled Pokémon games because it is all chibi sized. Just like how RWBY (you may not know it) had these chibi animated shorts where they had the same shiny , rubber-like toy texture in animation. And besides , you have the characters in full body animation once getting into a Pokémon battle from what the trailer looks like.

In terms of puzzle, I prefer the DP one. It's so fun to play a little hide n seek and maze game~
who knows, maybe they change the gyms in the post game rematches. Not that I expect that to happen, but it'd be really cool.

The music sounds a little funny, but that’s primarily because I’m so used to hearing the songs on DS hardware. Other than that, I can’t wait for these games to come out!
Still nog a big fan of the designs/art style, especially seeing the characters up close. But their in-battle models look great and the games appear to capture the same feeling the originals had, so I’m excited!!
Pokemon was always chibi up until Gen 6 and I feel like the chibi style is the best pick for a Pokemon game. We don't need hyper-realistic graphics in 4K in order to have fun, we just need a fun game and this new Pokemon game looks amazing!

@@Hauntaku the sprites had a different expresivity to them though, in the original games the overworld characters had always an almost blank and serious expression, while the new models look smiley and childish, so the issue some people have wity the style of these remakes is not actually about them being chibi or not but rather about what style of chibi they are and what vibes they give, I agree on what you say, and these games are honestly looking great in my opinion
I just noticed at 1:13 you can see a Torchic following the player. Don’t know if that means there will be a National Dex but it sure looks like we’ll be able to have non-Sinnoh Pokémon in the game.

@@CelticVizard I'm certain the moves will still be there, Surf and Defog are quite useful moves in battle regardless of HM status. Having them as regular TMs means being able to swap in and out of them without having to go to the move deleter which is an absolute win. I'm just hoping that for QoL's sake that the TM's are reusable like in Gen 5 onward (possibly keeping the TR's from Gen 8, jury's still out for me on those).
Don't care what people say, I'm excited for it. EDIT : The fact that it looks like HM's are bound to the Poketech rather than needing a Pokemon to have them is a god send.
Finally, we don't have to force small bidoof to learn a poor moveset anymore. I never did that though, instead I just gave everyone on my battle team a hm move. Made Empoleon learn cut.

Compared to the first trailer back in march, this game looks absolutely amazing. Improvements all around and additions that make the experience even better. SO freaking excited to not have an HM slave anymore
at the same time i really hate that some comoletely random pokemon just gets instant teleportet to you and does the hm and then vanishes... but i gotta admit i love all of the other improvements, it looks amazing now

Fun fact: The app calls wild Pokémon to use HMs. Your team doesn't need to know the moves.
Wrong, you don't have to teach them hms, just need a Pokemon that can learn them.
Torchic being in BDSP is a game changer. We’re not just getting the platinum dex we’re getting a lot more!

Oh thank goodness! Now we won't have any more HM slaves. I really didn't like having to give my team moves that weren't really gonna help them. With the Poketch, there won't be any holding back on cool moves.

It seems like they may have changed the HM's to not take up move slots anymore, which is great, but I'm really disappointed to see Eterna's gym going back to the DP version, as well as the Poketch only having one button. If they're gonna go out of their way to implement all these QoL features, why would they intentionally ignore the fact that they added a second button to go back on the poketch in Platinum? And if Eterna's gym is back to just being a room with trees in it, it's safe to assume that they've probably removed the cool flashlight puzzle from Hearthome, and brought the math problems back.
To be fair this is a Diamond and Pearl remake not a Platinum one. That’s probably the driving force behind all of those decisions
@@funkybassman6012 You're right that that's probably their reasoning, but Diamond and Pearl weren't finished when they released. Platinum was the final product of when they could finally complete a definitive version of the game. If it was just keeping the original visuals for certain areas, or keeping Dialga/Palkia as the big fight at Spear Pillar, that would be enough. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum aren't different games. It's not like asking for B2W2 content from a B&W remake. Platinum is just the final definitive version, and they're ignoring key changes that made the game twice as good for an arbitrary reason.

Well to be fair, its a third party team making this, and when that happens, the company is a lot of the time very very careful about what they change if they change anything at all.
They improved Poffin making by letting your Pokémon cook with you?! And Hidden Moves are now a Poketch/Ride Pokémon feature?! Such awesome updates so far!
None of these two things you mentioned are new tho

Adding almost nothing new just means you have the same game, and I don't need it, because I already have the original. Was hoping for something different like Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. si far it seems like the gym looks more like do than pt, same for amity square. also in the map in the survival area it seems like the battla Cafe is missing (the one where you rematch all the gym leaders)

There is, at minimum, a drastically upgraded Underground. Due to Platinum incorporation, I would not be surprised to see the Other World become expanded or even able to return to it (Honestly, I'd so love that!) Also from Platinum, the Battle Area with Heatran and friends. Also Platinum, getting (re)introduced to Looker/Handsome's first appearance in the series. Platinum added Rotom's forms. None of the remakes have been 1-1 remakes. The closest, I would say, would be HGSS (Gen 2), as the added content was the Crystal version content and some extra optional areas (Safari Zone, Latias/Latios in-game event, Cliff's Edge area, Shinjo Ruins). FR/LG (Gen 1) added Sevii Island area to the south, OR/AS (Gen 3) added a post-game storyline and incorporated a World Flying mechanic in addition to snagging Mega Evolution from Gen 6.
