Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed Review - SO CLOSE to Great
The Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed aims to be the best gaming headset in 2023 and it actually is....except for this one issue that Logitech needs to fix as soon as possible.

I like that you don't overhype products in your reviews. It's incredibly common to see these so called reviewers praise every product beyond measure. Thanks for being real!
Yeah, that mic is unacceptable compared to corsair's and razer's or even steelseries' mics
Same
I'll just chime in after trying these for a day (desktop gaming). Right now they're a massive step down from the 1st Gen Wireless Pro X I've been using (which I'll be comparing this to). The out the box sound quality is significantly muddier (especially in the mid range). The advanced EQ adjustments (through G Hub) just aren't there at launch, so you're forced to work with basic sliders that don't resolve any of the audio quality problems. The passive noise cancellation of the earcups isn't any better. And the mic is still trash (and unchanged!) after so much backlash/feedback. It's a joke of a headset for $250. Super disappointing. I'd wait 6 months to see if they iron out the software/driver issues before trying, but tbh if you're looking at this just buy the Gen 1's they're cheaper and sound better (or offer more flexibility for tweaking).
Worst reviewer by far is Spawnpoint. He literally gets on his knees the moment he receives a piece of overpriced tech from any company.
@@lingonberryjam320 My jaw dropped when he switched to the Razer mic, holy moly the difference is night and day!
Thank you for the mic comparison, your videos are a great point of reference for gaming headsets
Thank you for the video, good comparisons ! I just got this headset and I realise why my friends say my mic sounds bad lmao. RIP them I guess because I love the audio and comfort it offers, also they say they're getting used to it after a few days anyway. It's not a good mic, but it's also not bad.
Yeah the comfort and audio is a huge improvement over the original. I say keep it and just live with the mic. -D.
lighting and video quality is absolutely unmatched! Dmitry, thank you for many years of top notch content!
Thanks thanks 🙏 -D.
@@HardwareCanucksdoes g pro 2 connect 2 devices at same time like ps5 and phone on same time ?
I would be nice to get a wired version with the same driver and ergonomics updates but lower price.
I bought the Logitech G Pro X2 and am delighted with the quality of these headphones. I was looking for something that would work for both PC and Switch gaming and am very happy with them.
Great review thank you! Definitely reconsidering on the microphone quality, such a shame, everything else seemed so good.
Great review. Just one question. Since the microphone is detachable, can't I in theory switch it out with a better one?
Hi man, nice review! Do you prefer this one or the astro a30? Thx!
So is the microphone identical to that in the original G Pro X wired version? Granted, out of the box its trash but with some tweaking it sounds excellent (as good as, if not better than the Blackshark example you gave)
Have you tested the Logitech/Blue Ice Pop microphone that you can get for the G Pro X and X2 Lightspeed? Does it bring the Mic quality on par with the competitors?
I sometimes feel no company WANTS to build the perfect wireless pair of headphones. There is always something broken about it leaving the user jumping to the next promising device, and the next after that. And the manufacturers benefiting overall, from the high-end user seeking perfection. The game is rigged. 😄
ikr 😂 you'd think that by now some manufacturer went rogue and said "fuck it, i'm gonna check all the boxes this time"
This is why I am a separate mic and headset guy. I have had the same mic for about 10 years, a Yeti Blackout Edition, and have gone through multiple headsets in the same time for a fraction of the price.
what's your current setup?
@@SuperUltra_ Cheapest Mic arm I can get with the Blue Yeti Blackout Edition (had planned to upgrade to Pro and XLR but a ton of stuff happened and they stopped making it in between) And currently I am using the Oneodio duo input headphones (if you need a larger headset don't even buy them) and until recently a set of open back cans from a knockoff brand and now I am looking at getting a pair of Sampson Semi-open headphones. On the software side I have Ear Horn and Sound Switch to manage my audio better and control my sound outputs better.
I just wish they would make open-back audio quality wireless headphones. I hate being tied down, especially after years of not having a cable. Wireless is all closed-back, so people can use them in public. I really don't care about that. So gaming headsets and not using the mic it is...
I would love to have separate headphones and mic, but being in University and having to move in and out during the years, gaming headset has been more convenient
@@nevcairiel Same, I don't like the sound of closed-back headphones. One problem is I suppose is how to make wireless headphones open and fit a long lasting battery inside of it.
Can the microphone of the Logitech G Pro x 2 be changed with the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro microphone? Or is there no difference because the headsets have an audio chip that controls the microphone?
can you go over your EQ settings for cs? i just got some and i feel it is a little muffled! great video as always
Wow what a review.subscribed ! You literally have answered everything I wanted to know
I am not sure if the mic capsule was the issue, I have a suspicion that it is how the wireless transmission was handled, is there a way to test if that's the case? Is there a wired mode? Can it work in wired mode?
great review thanks! yeah im getting these soon they seem awesome! :) happy holidays soon everyone!
Good review, hopefully they fix the microphone in the next version. This is unacceptable at that price.
Or how about they just release an updated microphone capsule for a few sheckles and NOT make us spend another $250 for the next headset. Its just a simple plug-in mic after-all.
@@matt.gillispie That would be dope if they offer a better quality one and ALSO update the current headset to be paired with that better one for new buyers! At that price point it should be offered with it for sure!
Great review. I agree with everything said here. I ended up returning G Pro X2 Lightspeed. The mic quality was the thing. I make a lot of voice notes and couldn't stand the downgrade in the recorded quality compared to the wired Audio Technica headset.
How was the rest of the headset? Besides the mic
@@datdus5524 I liked the overall design better than Audio Technica.
Very good review thanks! Out of curiosity, what if you had both, could you use the razer mic with the pro x 2 and get a really good outcome?
Not sure it fits, I haven’t got the g pro x2 but the GPro x1 has a cutout for the mic so it would depend on whether you could get a different mic to fit in the slot
I didn't expect the HS80 to be that clear! Sounded like a professional microphone. You just convinced me to buy the HS80 instead of the garbage Logitech headset
HS80 is still king of the hill 1 year after release, it's crazy how much value it gives.
it's also cheaper, the sound quality is the only drawback from what I heard, I'll have to test myself, sometimes sound quality is subjective
Yeah hs80 has very good microphone, the battery is only 5hours... 70 hours on the v2 pro razer one.
@@DarkP1audio is very subjective but when it comes to Logitech no one that I know that enjoys great audio products has ever praised them.
@@VexxedSR The g23/430s were where logitech peaked in terms of sound quality. And those were >50$ headsets and the sound made that obvious.
Great review! Just a quick question: Will I be able to connect this headset to my GOXLR with a 3.5mm cable? I don't want to use the wireless feature, but not sure if that is the only option.
Thought about switching to this but dayuum after hearing about the mic I'm having flashbacks to the many replacement mics I had to buy for the original. Just got the Virtuoso xt after watching ur vid on the base one then seeing all the versatil connectivity options and better mic. G715 somehow seems weird lol
As an owner of the GPro wireless you sold me on this one now to save or wait for a sale, cause with a mic like that, I feel that 249 is a bit much! Great review as always :)
I swapped the mic boom from my old wired gPros (blue voice model) when I upgraded to the wireless GPro (x1) and there was a noticeable improvement. If you already have the GPro wireless and get these I recommend testing both mics in case one sounds better.
They got the new icepop mic that you can upgrade the mic. It is expensive though for $50 but would that actually improves the experience?
Vitosha mountain at the back, sick intro ;D
for valorant what do you recommend around 150$? i cant decide, hyper x cloud alpha s or cloud 3 or this or beyer mmx100 , dt 770 pro 80ohm
Hey. Nice comparation. Please can u tell me where can i buy those earmuffs for steelseries ???
I bought the G Pro X 2 about 2 Months ago and i am supper happy with it. Its comfortable, incredible batterylife, good sound and tbh at least compared with everything i had before it has a nice microphone. Its not a studio microphone, sure, but tuned with the broadcaster 1 blue voice profile its great for remote work and waaaaay better then everything my coworkers are using.
Same here! Very happy with it since I use it both for gaming and as a headset for calls at work (and I needed it to be wireless). I *did* however replace the removable mic with a replacement mic for the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro for just 20 dollars. While it doesn't sound as good as the Blackshark V2 due to different drivers being equipped, it was still a big improvement due to the larger capsule of the mic.
4 Months in how is it? I'm especially curious about the battery life? How often do you need to charge it, I had to return my last headset because it needed to be recharged constantly. Also how is the grip of the headset? Like if you look down does it feel secure or does it start to slip and fall?
@@StevXtreme How is it? I'm especially curious about the battery life? How often do you need to charge it, I had to return my last headset because it needed to be recharged constantly. Also how is the grip of the headset? Like if you look down does it feel secure or does it start to slip and fall?
@@thegaminghero2201 Battery life is absolutely dumb... Out of the box it had 85% charge and after 10 hours of use it's still like 65%. It's insanely durable.
@@StevXtreme How much do you use it? 1-5 hrs a day? 6-12? Can it go multiple days without recharge?
I agree! I appreciate the "real" attitude; telling us both what is good and not so good, and what is bad. I don't feel like I can trust opinions when the product is hyped up....
Suggest me some tws in terms of ensuing sound quality, super active noise cancellation, voice clarity and the balance between high and low end and mids. Which one would you like to prefer for buying a budget tws for both listening music and calling features?
Very tempted as comfort and sound is more important to me. This would make my white set up complete. Do I pull the trigger on one of these?🤔
Lol after pulling some research folks r saying the audio is shit compared to cheaper sets
Had the HyperX's, SteelSeries Nova Pro's, Razer's hs, nothing compares to this ones. Im literally Stunned how great of a Headset X2's are from literally any aspect. Sound is impeccable, Battery is insane ,im currently on 6th day of use in intense Gaming and Music and im left with 60% battery, the Graphein thing is something i thought will not play any rule but hell i was wrong. This are the only gaming wireless headset i could recommend to anyone and stand behind that strong feet XD
You think it got better sound than the blackshark v2 pro
@@GunlogicsTV I had the blackshark v1 headset, not the v2, so this might not be the same, but they were so overwhelmingly uncomfortable, I had to return them.
Would like to see a review on the Audeze Maxwell Wireless, RTINGS rated as the best gaming headset, it has planar magnetic drivers and a decent mic and 80hr battery life from the other reviews I watched, would love to see your review on it.
Yeah really want to see one of the bigger channels review the maxwells. Not sure why since I already have them and love them, just need someone to tell me I made the right choice haha.
@@jht8367 I would buy them already but they are out of stock everywhere, if theres a bigger channel that reviews them then I'd preorder. btw hows the mic? It sounded pretty decent from what I heard, wondering if it can replace my bulky mic
cant wait for a translucent one to pair with my x2 superclear!
I got the G Pro X 2 Lightspeed a couple weeks ago. Its a very good headset. The sound quality sounds the same if not better than my old G Pro X wired headset. The microphone sounds the same as the old wired one, which is impressive for a wireless headset. None of my friends noticed a difference over discord that I was using a different headset.
Did you see any downgrade from G Pro X wired headset? Plan to upgrade my G Pro X wired headset to Pro X 2 lightspeed.
Please also review, if possible, the Hyper X Cloud III, really looking forward to it, thanks.
I still use the very first G PRO. It's always been a very comfortable, light weight and good quality gaming headset with great positioning. But Soundblaster z just brought it to a completely different level. I don't think I would be able to use build-in sound card ever again.
Z SE ?
What is the clamping force like? I feel like the original pro x wireless clamps abit too hard, ive had mine for like two years atleast though and it hasnt lossened up by much
Felt a bit better but still a bit tight. Would recommend picking up a pair of upgraded earpads to help
Coming from audiophile headphones and a condensor mic, I've been gravitating towards the convenience of a wireless headset. But this kind of mic quality really just doesn't cut it. I know I have to trade away some sound and mic quality for wireless, but not this much...
"audiophile" hahahahha so funny ... stay off of reddit they giving u bad advice on what to buy
@@wintersoldier4269 In my 20 years I've used my share of gaming headsets and audiophile headphones, from $5 earbuds to $500 headphones. Audiophile headphones are just like any other product category, including gaming headsets, they have their bad products and good products, their snake oils, and their myths, but if you care about sound quality, gaming headsets was just not up there until very recently. Audio technology itself has seen huge developments in the last decade as well.
Can I still use the usb external soundcard from the previous Pro X model and put it on this one?
Dimitri, the microfone sound is not identical, seems an like the noise is louder with the new one, nothing major but your video shows it
Awesome review. What do you think of the Logitech for music or movies?
This is why I prefer detachable microphones for headphones. I would like a lot more expensive version compared to the ModMic. Something that compares to a Rode NT1 Gen 5 but not stationary. And of course, I don't mind if the microphone ends with a 1/4" TRS and XLR as I have a couple of rack-mount gear (Behringer MIC2200 and MDX2600) that I use as my signal chain. A bit of EQ for my voice, expander, compressor, and a limiter all in hardware. No software needed. :)
what if I use a lavalier mic with a wireless sender, I have spend a lot of money on condenser/dynamic mics with xlr audio interfaces and it's a hassle, bulky (a lot of cables) and also a expensive solution that doesn't sound as good as the mic on the corsair h80 because we have to always speak close to the mic which is annoying, I can't sit back and talk. it feels like work
@@DarkP1 I've already spent a lot of money on rackmount gear, so that's not a problem for me. I could go with a lavalier microphone, but I would rather prefer a constant volume no matter where I move my head around. I wish there's more market for professional detachable headset microphone with an XLR connector. If it costs about $100 or more (my ceiling would be around $200 to $250), I would be happy with that. But then to each their own. I only care about getting the best flattest frequency response for a microphone whenever possible.
youre wasting time and money.. discord compresses that shit anyway everyone sounds close to the same. and if your trying to be a "streamer" its still a waste
The Verge PC-build never escapes the internett, huh. 😂
How are you tuning the EQ on the headset to be usable?? I fixed it but reinstalled windows, now have no idea how I fixed it in the past.
Hello, if you use the jack cable, do you need to turn on the headset ? Do you need to charge it too ?
I am looking for an audiophile headset that also comes with a mic that doesn't totally doesn't break the bank. Is the sound quality good for simple music enjoyment with depth? My other option would be the Drop x EPOS headset, as well as the Audeze Maxwell but that's a bit much for me. I am also interested in something by seinheisser and sacrifice the mic but get a big bump in quality.
I use the original G Pro X headphones (wired) and the mic is phenomenal with Blue voice (most people complement it) so what happened when they went wireless??
so if i think that the virtuoso SE of Corsair is tooo quiet than i am going wrong with this one? how is the Music and loudness compared to the audeze Maxwell?
I enjoy my hyper x cloud alphas wireless, 300 hour battery in them is amazing. Sound is good , microphone is good to but i hardly use it. They are probably not the best at comfort.
Can you just plug in a better microphone to raise audio input quality? or is the problem not solved that way?
I’d love to see a comparison between this and the Astro A30!
They also apparently improved the range to 30 meters from 15 meters as well. I currently have that buzzing problem with the original so I do plan on upgrading to this one in the future. Thanks for the great review
@@amsq631 Wait the original or the new one?
What do you recommend, for people that have already an micro?
Hopefully they come out with a Non wireless version only too.
thanks for the review, always nice to see Vitoshka :>
I love my g pro x even though plastic starts to crack really hard. These headphones are so comfortable. Sucks that they didn't improve microphone because there is no real point upgrading. Even with broken plastic my headset is still working, so I will probably buy g pro x2 if my old ones really start to fail.
How old is your headset??
@@slipknot8441 3y
I've tried a few headsets, Razer, PowerA etc but the Corsair HS80 has been the best for comfort, mic quality and sound quality. The added bonus of 20Hz-40,000Hz over USB makes the sound quality even greater enabling me to hear more in the games I play!
How is HS80's battery life for your use case?
can I ask what you eq setting are because I feel like I am not getting the most out of my headphones
FYI, The G PRO X2 is KNOWN to have an audio issue where it sounds quiet so you have to really turn up your PC volume to hear audio at a decent level and sometimes it may be abnormal levels. Supposedly it is a driver or G Hub issue but has not been resolved since the G PRO X released. I myself did not know this information before I bought my G PRO X2 and just want to warn you before you do the same. A lot of information about this flaw can be found on Logitech's sub-reddit.
With slight differences in price based on black friday sales , which WIRED headset would u recommend between G Pro X , HS80 and the cheapest being Razor V2 X , for ps5
The mic test is very much appreciated!
The issue i have with the Razer BS V2 2023 is the vol knob on the mic - because it is digital and not analog the volume is controlling the windows vol not the headset vol. which i find personally bad. but the mic quality so good!! ugh so i returned it because of that but might check this one out!
I just got screwed by Razer, I had the Razer BS V2 Pro and after some months of using it the volume knob started to fail and one one of the ears started to get quieter and after a while stopped working at all. Sent it to Razer warranty, they told me that they are not fixing products and they don't have a replacement, they can only refund me about 50% of the value because they are used headphones. It's a shame, they were a crazy comfy headset and I really like the audio quality, but Razer as a brand now just feels bit too shady.
@@CirvjaEfekts yeah I still have the 2022 BS v2 and I haven’t had that issue. But still haven’t found a headset I like for work. I use open back headphones for my gaming set up. But the BS are so far the best of the bunch. Just that digital vol knob is annoying
Can I use same headset for playing game and answering phone call sometime? Similar like playing and chatting in discord without shutdown game sound
Between these two, edifier wh950nb and logitech g pro x, which one should I go for?
can you replace the mic or will that not effect anything?
You shoudl have a look at the Audeze Maxwell's. They're great!
Damn, now I am struggling if I should get these or Steelseries arctic nova pro's. I hade EPOS H6PRO before and I had them on max volume and it was not loud enough, I am afraid that Logitech would be the same.
It looks like you can buy a different mic for the logitech headset. Good idea or no?
what eq preset do you use or do you make a custom?
Hi so i recently switched from the steelseries artics 7 wireless to the pro x2 and ive noticed that the audio sounds kinda muffled is there a way to fix it??
Hmmm thinking if it is worth upgrading from a G935 probably not right?
I was planning to buy the GPXG2. I was using the GPXG1 wired, and honestly, if the microphone didn't sound like shit, I would have gone with the Gen 2, and I needed an upgrade for a while since my headset is starting to show its age by the mic dying, and well, wear and tear. I decided to go with the blackshark v2, and honestly, for the first time, most of my equipment is going razer. Keyboard, & headset is razer now, controller is razer, but mouse remains logitech since logitech mouses imo are the best.
I'm wonder. Do we get Wired version for G Pro X 2.
atp with gaming headsets, I don't even factor the mic into the equation. ik it's important for some ppl since not everyone can afford a headphone + mic combo separately but it's so much more worthwhile if you wait and save. Ever since I used a studio mic + gaming headset setup, the only upgrades you'll need from now on are the headphones (and that'll be every few years minimum). Even a cheap newer mic from amazon will have you set for the long run if you're budget conscious.
which one is better steel series artic nova pro or this one?
What about testing with the additional blue microphone
When are we getting a review on the Audeze Maxwell? A lot of other reviewers seem to rank it as the best wireless gaming headset, especially in the Audio department
How would you compare this headset with the most recent astro a50?
What kind of connector does the microphone have? Can you replace it?
As someone who hates over bassy headphones and has a seperate mic, i see this as an absolute win
At this price point tho like he said, we should still demand better! You could use the mic as a backup if yours shit the bed for example. But it's garbage, imagine if it was a GOOD backup mic! Everything else is a win tho for sure I agree!
@@rawj1213 thats fair, i agree that the mic definitely should be better at this price point, hope they fix it for their next version, other than that its a great headset!
@@boredborder8248 Yezzzirrrrr! Also. They could offer a upgraded mic since it just literally plugs into the headset! But include the upgraded mic in all headsets then on as a solution now!
Perfect. I already went out of my way to buy a microphone and a boom arm so my heart did sink to my balls when I heard the audio quality on some of those other headsets but it seems my money isn't really going to go to waste afterall.
Is the surround better than previous versions?
For me I have a pro microphone so I’m only looking for the headphones. What is the best?
My only question is can I use it with my Xbox. Like at least the wired version of it and just use wireless for my pc. Will it save my custom EQ’s for when I play on my Xbox too.
Are you able to replace the mic and put in something with a higher quality?
Can u just put the BlackShark V2 Microphone in the Logitech Pro X2? Is the sound quality then the same?
Just received the headset and there is a big problem with poor sound quality in wireless mode. In wired mode (3.5 mm) it sounds great. I started to wonder if all reviews were actually done in wired mode? No way people would call that sound good otherwise.
Why is there no review on the Audeze Maxwell? I would love to see that.
I have enjoyed your video and willing to ask you something regarding the headset. I do you use Apple Airpod pro version 2 and suddenly I want to change the my tws and convert it from TWS to a headset for better sound quality. so please let me know if I go and get the Logitech g pro x 2 over Airpod pro 2 . Is it worth enough to listen music and purpose?
Don't buy gaming headsets if you want good sound quality
In comparison to Logitech g535, is it worth another 100$ ? I have seen on rtings that g535 has higher sound quality even thou they are much cheaper ? Thanks for any info. Also what headphones would you buy in 2024 for listening to music and gaming.
the jump from the Pro X2 to the Blackshark V2 Pro and HS80 is fucking insane XD
wonder if u could just plug some third party boom arm mic into the port...
How are they compared to CORSAIR VIRTUOSO XT Wirelress?
hows battery life ? is it 50 hours or 20 hours ? after about 2 years of using the first version of these i got less then 16 hours.
Is the mic actually bad or does the Logitech's wireless implentation just ruin It? Maybe test the mic (and a few different ones, of those that are detachable) on a proper sound card input?
Can confirm plugging in the mic wired sounds Much better than wireless. looks like logitech doesnt dedicate tonnes of wireless bandwidth to the microphone. Audio is still great through
Hi! There are people say that with the latest firmware update, you can now save the EQ setting to the headset which can work now on PS5. Could you confirm this? Thanks!
I can confirm this.
I use Focal radiance for playing alone and have Hyperx cloud alphas for when my friends play. The difference is kind of absurd. What is the best solution for getting a microphone with the Focals? I don’t want something too bulky or expensive.
