    @INKsanity83@INKsanity833 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Nutty! Yes, you do need to reinstall the blades. They keep the clay from sticking to the rollers. I'm pretty sure that the clay would just keep rolling around the rollers. But, give it a go. You know how to take it apart and put it back together now. You never know, you might make a discovery that will change the clay world.

  • Mags, I just bought a used Atlas 150 from someone selling on Marketplace (for $15!). It's a real one, LOL, (made in Italy) but it was used for pasta making and doesn't look like it was cleaned much. Do you think this will get it cleaned enough, just by taking it apart as you've described and cleaning it, or would I have to take the other side off too to be able to get everything clean enough to use for polymer clay? I know you've mentioned in the comments that you can't take the other side off. Thanks for this video!

    @TheLadybard@TheLadybard2 жыл бұрын
    • I think you will be fine with just a regular cleaning. The pasta dough will probably just flake off. If there are any rusty spots I would clean that up with some extra fine steel wool. The gear side is most probably not affected.

    @Ellymitchell96@Ellymitchell963 жыл бұрын
    • Once the gears are stripped it is pretty hard to get it back to normal. If you have a handy person in your life they may be able to look at the gears and see if they can realign them. Going forward with your next machine (if you can't realign this one) Never use the thickest or thinnest settings to save your gears. And never try and process clay that is thicker than the second thickest setting. Either use a roller or your hands to get the clay even to the second thickest setting. Good luck.

  • I removed both sides of the bottom part of my Amaco pasta machine. I can't get to the screw to assemble one side of the bottom of the machine, the side with the dial that sets the size of the roll that has numbers starting from 9 to 1 because it's built over the screw. The problem is i can't screw the bottom back because they have screw threads on the inside , it looks like a hexagon ring and i can't thread them back from the outside unless i disassemble the sides first then screw them back from the inside then pop the outside sides back on..

    @citrusbutter7718@citrusbutter771811 ай бұрын
    • I'm a bit confused about what you have done. You didn't need to take off both sides of the base. The side with the dial doesn't need to be touched to clean the machine. And it causes problems like you are experiencing when you do so. If you could send me some pictures of what you have done I will try to help you get it back together. Email me at Mags@MagsBonham.com.

    • @@MagsBCreations I never disassembled them before but decided to gamble with it because either way overtime id have to buy another one anyway because of all the clay build up, and my white clays were starting to get streaks of mucky colors added in and i constantly have to stop through each roll to scrape out the extra colors. I didn't look at tutorials because it looked simple with all the screws, but i didn't realized that there would be lugs on the inside of the machine that keeps the whole thing together.

      @citrusbutter7718@citrusbutter771811 ай бұрын
    • @@MagsBCreations Right now i got the side without the dial open and i can close it because its a longer screw that goes right through to the other side, no lugnuts on the inside of that part on the sides, they're only on the inside bottom base. It's back together but it's not perfect because i still cant open the dial end but i don't think i want to anyway as long as i can still use the machine and i think i can. Only one end is screwed back but the other end only has 1 screw holding it together but the screw is more "stuck" in place rather than screwed in because it's tight so it's not necessary, it feels sturdy enough so i'm not bothered by it. The rubber grips are now there to keep the machine from moving too much. I think ill keep it this way with only one end back together and the other end being held in place so when i need to clean it again ill just take it apart and only reattach one end.

It took me a while to figure it out, but it worked for me. I just finished cleaning my wife's machine about 2 hours ago(Nov26/2019 5PM EST).

У более дешевых брендов есть пластиковые шестерни и скребки, и они не прослужат так долго. Не рекомендую снимать бок с шестернями. Вам нужно снять только одну сторону, чтобы очистить, а сторону ручки легче всего разобрать и собрать. Yes, quality is very important. Metal gears are far superior. Atlas & Marcato usually have metal gears and scrapers. Cheaper brands have plastic gears and scrapers and won't last as long. I don't recommend taking off the side with the gears. You only need to take off one side to clean and the handle side is the easiest to disassemble and reassemble. Translation of reply above by Google: "It is very important what quality of the gears in the apparatus. It says a lot about the device itself. You look at the gear block and you immediately understand what to expect. And it would help to make a choice.
