@@tpl2023Somebody gives you a look like that you question your recent actions
So this is the power of a GOD?
Frieren vs Frieren was the most epic magical battle I've ever saw, this is EXACTLY how I always imagined battles of two OP mages
Contrary to the recent Dr Strange vs Dr Strange, I got all the things I expected from that battle from frieren instead.

Magi kinda scratches the same itch
Dude they have to continue Magi already 😭@@izmif980
There is one mage that still stands above Freiren. The one called Megumin. But if they ever fought, Freiren just has to survive that one shot and then its game point, float her back home.
Fern : "Let's finish her...". Also Fern, seeing this stare : "...OH SH-!!"
Wtf did you watch? She was completely amazed the whole time
@@Miguel_Noethershe was definitely scared when she got hit by that attack at first until she realized the clone dropped its defence to use it
@@lebrosoprotosszerg8294 Probably used it against the Demon Lord thus her statement that if any of her party had died they would not have succeeded.
Ah yes, just after you relieved that defeat "Frieren, The Slayer of Demon" Boss, then comes the second health bar, "Frieren, Height of Magic"
Honestly, "Frieren, Journey's End" is a way better title for a final boss.
@@alucard347 That's for 3rd phase buddy
@@talymenombrenuit3659 yeah, fair enough.
You choose your race at the beginning, one of them being demon, one human, one elf. Demon - "Frieren, The Slayer" (much better than slayer of demons imo), human - "Frieren, Journey's End" elf - "Frieren, Height of Magic" (or maybe you just get this one if you pick wizard as your class with any race).
She releases her mana restraint for the second phase!
Frieren with her hair down and bedroom stares makes my knees tremble.
What would they have done to my boy Himmel
a simple blown kiss had Himmel coughing blood and passed out. pretty sure the smouldering stoic glare of imminent dominating would have done more
@@LuoSon312_G8he'd probably saw his future with frieren "if" they ended up together as a flashing images before he collapse while bleeding from both nostrils.
Bedroom? I don't know, but there are other words that come to my mind like,... doom or wrath (of Frieren)
@@verex8579 Makes me wonder what Sein would have said... 😅 He missed a lot this arc (both Methode and this look...)
In that world, it's a good thing Frieren isn't evil.
in an alternate world, evil Frieren is Kenjaku in JJK.
She won't be. She is the mage for peaceful era.
@@kevinganchero2104 she would eat Kenjaku for breakfast on a sunday morning
@@Oakland510 not the point but… ok.
Remember the True Heros sword is still waiting for the hero that will confront the great evil. The demon lord was not the great evil there is something worse yet to come in the future of this world. And SeiRei was never sure if she could beat the demon lord in a fight. Yet frieren and her team did, hinting back to the comments frieren made about having lost fights to people she was stronger then in the past.
After what Serie says that only Demon King and a human mage can kill her, I am really excited to see how well they depict the hero party fights the demon king. This thought alone gives me chills
I believe they will show it right at the END of the series which could be like 5-6 years from now
No, not CAN kill, she already lost like 10+ times mostly against humans. Seire said "If anyone kills you, it will be either the Demon King, or a human mage."
I wonder if the Demon King was a human because he wanted demons to coexist with humans
@@lolasdm6959did he want that, I know the demon king isn’t really brought up all that much in reference to what type of demon/person they were. To me the Demon King just reads as an entity that wanted complete dominion
@@rookiescott9914 No, the demon king actively held many of his minions away from just attacking humans aimlessly. He wanted to basically sustainably exist with humans, probably something like establishing Demons as a upper class in this new society where they get to eat convicts or something. The demon king understood between humans and demons, at their current rate of losses, the humans will win.
I think this scene hits so hard cause it's the first time frieren is visibly angry. Even the times when she was angry before it never showed on her face. That's prolly why when watching this scene and the stare came up, in the 2 seconds it was shown it actually put me on fight or flight mode
I guess we can infer that the real Frieren is a bit of a sore loser. You can see the clone Frieren was SEETHING that she underestimated Fern and it cost her.
She probably just entered a kill-or-be-killed state, so far we know she's more embarrassed about her flaws than straight-up angry.
@@dutchdragon2472 but then there's the thing where the clone obviously doesn't see them as humans and attacks out of the blue. If the clone saw frieren and fern as demons, then that anger would fit into character.
@@blckjack6954 I wasn't disagreeing with but rather the guy above me, seething just seems far fetched
@@dutchdragon2472 I get that, she mostly seems annoyed asf to me. Basically "I'm sick of you, get out of my way."
ngl that stare awakened something in me I didn't know I had
The fact that it took a Frieren and a Fern to kill Frieren shows how strong Frieren is
If it was just Frieren and Frieren one would have died while the other heavily injured and it would be up to luck to know who is going to be who. Fern was there to ensure that they don't have to rely on luck but poor Fern ended up really beaten up
and serie is far stronger so imagine that
Well the clone is her equal so
the fact it takes a an apple and a banana to outweigh an apple really shows how heavy an apple is
The use of indefinite articles makes this feel like a Rick and Morty commentary.
Denken : "If this is not a test, i already break my bottle"

Episode 26 "The Height of Magic" can also be called "The Height of Frieren's Budget" Holy moly... not only they cooked in these past 2 episodes, they definitely served the 'main dish' that is Frieren vs Frieren fight. Now I can't wait for El Dorado Arc to be animated
Dunno man, the spiegel fight looked like (colorful) crayon drawings.
@@masterost1994yeah the was the point. The hand drawn parts are to emulate the style of fantasy books. Also did you see the BLACK HOLE!!!
@@masterost1994 uhm I think that was the aesthetic they were going for since episode 1. It was deliberate.
@@masterost1994i mean lets be honest, that style is the best way to show a fight of high class magic in a setting where a misstep can lead to a fatality. Most of the time in anime its just gonna be each mage just casting their respective spells in a way similar to turn based combat, kinda like the pokemon games but with wizards
@@masterost1994 would you rather some cgi? stylization is no bad thing. its in the same vein of complaint as the pain fight from naruto, 10 odd years later
I am TERRIFIED of that expression.
Well, I'm turned on by it, lol.
This is what she normally looked like the twin tail is probably recent. She is called the "slayer".
@@lolasdm6959 No, she had her twin tails during her adventures with her party, she had her hair down before meeting Himmel but she wasn't so traumatized back then. This is the first time I think we've seen this side of Frieren on and off screen
@@dutchdragon2472 She already lived for over 1000 years before Himmel's adventure.
@@dutchdragon2472 Just went back and checked, her hair was down when she was with Flamme, so yes the hair down was there for much longer.
I loved seeing Frieren's clone fighting back at full strength. It was playing the part of Frieren's capacity when actually in danger. I would hazard a guess that most of her losses have all come in more "sparring" type battles where neither lives were in danger and she only half-assed it as she doesn't seem to harbor much pride or ego. The only way to push her to fight at her fullest being if she is at a legitimate danger of death - which the clone was. Poor Fern having to take the full brunt of that attack.
We've seen that Frieren can obliterate a part of a mountain for the purpose of only using as much as necessary, she's got to be an absolute beast if she doesn't have to worry about friendly fire.
The only exception probably being the Demon King. (Since, according to her it has been eighty years since she was last forced to use that spell which matches the timing of the Demon King fight)
Fern just surviving that attack is low-key impressive in and of itself.
@@balajivenkatesan5437I though it was the spell she used on one of the demon king commanders, before she got saved by Flamme. Same effect at least.
people always bring up how she lost to 11 people or so, but forget that if she lost to the WRONG people, she would be dead already
frieren said that if the other came in to help they would likely lose a few people which after seeing the fight I feel was A MASSIVE UNDERSTATMENT
If they all ganged up on the clone they would've won way more quickly.
@@user-wl5vb4oc7y oh absolutly I wasn't arguing with that I'm saying based on what frieren said (a few would likely die) to what would happen compared to what the fight turned out to be I feel like more than a "few" wizards are dying in that fight

@@AndyCrash07 Thank you.
Can you imagine how the battle with demon king went down? Not just Frieren but the ENTIRE hero's party going full on vs him.
I love this show because it portrait so well the aspects of a magic battle. Sometimes it can be over in split of a second, sometimes you can be overpowered by a different magic style.
What was cool about this to me was Fern saying "This isn't like you" which I think is meaning that murderous intent behind the attack, and also that the clone dropped all defense and focused on Fern 100%. The first part is since Frieren is a mage of peace, having that killer look isn't who she is anymore and hyper focusing on someone isn't how Frieren fights. Just proves that the clone saw Fern as the most immediate problem despite her literal match still in the fight. Which makes sense as Fern did the most damage to her.
I watched this at work. that part when that blue dress girl gets stabbed/ambushed i was like NOOOOO. everyone was looking at me.
The way height of magic ost changed to frieren the slayer theme is just brilliant.
She definitely made himmel fall to his knees if he ever saw he stare at him like this
I never read the light novel. But from what I heard it seem like Himmel is supposed to be even more op than her? Idk…
@@sugercane333that’s crazy but that’s not what i meant lol
@@sugercane333the source material is a manga not a light novel bruh
@@sugercane333The best fighter ever would destroy the best mage in DnD terms more often that not, I figure.
@@nazzurro in Dnd terms no martial can ever hold a candle to a mage, once you have reached a high enough level, wich both frieren and himmel should have. magic was and will always be the most op stuff you can have after a breakpoint. usually at around lvl 9-11 in DnD terms. however the world of frieren is different. fighters clearly use some kind of mana to fight as well. that is why linie can copy their attacks. so it is save to assume, that "you can do whatever you can imagine doing" goes both ways. so a skilled fighter should be able to block spells with his shield or puncture though magic defences, if he can visualize it. not sure if that is realy true since I theorize only from the anime pov
Official name of the score: 0:00 - Magic Defense Training 0:39 - Knife to the Throat 2:31 - Frieren the Slayer 3:20 - Demon Bane (minutes of 3:12 on official score)
If Fern had used an ambient ice spell or summoned a bed, the battle would have been very brief.
Hijo mio
If either of them had thought to bring a mimic, the fight would have ended before it started.
No 20-episode fights and no gigatons of stupid flashbacks. No screaming and getting beat up first before using powerful attacks.
This look is deadly, so beautiful
I can't believe Frieren fought Frieren and that Frieren won, proving that Frieren is superior to Frieren. This will surely silence all the Frieren haters.
to be fair it require frieren and fern to beat frieren
I love how the animation of the fight escalates. In the end it looks as if reality itself is tearing apart.

Height of Music
It’s fascinating how the author probably realized that for whatever reason, this slice of life adventuring story with an overpowered mage would eventually get dull if they were never properly challenged beyond emotional/episodic/developmental stories, and so figured out a way to force Frieren to show off some real magic. This fight actually felt like Frieren was challenged.
That's never what this story was about, lil bro.
Shounen brainrot comment right here
Those fatalistic eyes are just too alluring, and with the messed up hair! 😍
As Frieren achieved the height of magic. We must thrive to achieve the height of our fields too!
Let me get a step stool.

3:11 Sounds a bit like footsteps of doom ❤️ Amazing Job!
This made magic cool again for me.
This soundtracks is the most I loved in frieren.
That high to low point at 2:13 is poetic. I am not a music conessuier by any means, and don't know what the actual term is for it (crescendo maybe) is, but it is beautiful. Amazingly done.
i'm making a modpack right in minecraft, and i swear i wanna make it so you can have battles like this with other friends, because this is just too damn cool i won't even lie.
The fact that frieren didn’t even explain what her copy did for smash fern on the wall…she might be an entity that has gone far beyond the pure magic

I can stare to this clone frieren all day long.
i use to think frieren wasn't hot until this scene right here. Frieren can get it!
Sein missed out
Great music, just like the anime itself!
The thought that something like that is in fact inside Frieren if someone would piss her off enough...
so what is the height of magic? casting magic without casting, spelling, and detected? also unblocked?
peak visualisation without needing to use staff or your arms

basically visualisating yourself that you can use magic however and whenever you want. This way, you do not need medium for casting, you don't need motions for casting and you don't need incantation for casting. meaning you can attack and defend at any moment in any situation

That Invisible attack Frieren Clone used on Fern was scary shit. Wasn't fatal but was enough to destroy her staff and injur Fern. Was INSTANT. I wish Frieren would of explained the spell
Should do a cover of Demon's Bane - that's the song that actually plays when Fern gets attacked by the clone at the visualized point in the show.
