World's Largest C3 & C4 Corvette Salvage Yard
I recently had the opportunity to visit Corvette Generation in Dade City, Florida, an automotive salvage yard specializing in C3 and C4 Corvettes. However, they are not a You-Pull-It operation and the boneyard is not open to the general public.
In addition to used original parts, they can sell you a project car, a restored C3 or C4, and even a few new reproductions or aftermarket parts.
Wally Dye was very kind and gave me a tour of the operation while I was there picking up a hard-to-find part for my 1976 Corvette, and this is the video of my visit.
If you need a specific factory-original part or component for your Corvette, give them a call. They will most likely have it and ship it to you. And they ship worldwide.

How do I get in contact with anyone there so I can buy some parts
All the details are in the video description, but if you missed that, contact Wally at Corvette Generation, (352) 523-0900. Located at 16541 US-301, Dade City, FL 😊👍🏻
It's a shame that the people that owned those corvettes didnt love them as much as we do.
He’s got a lot of stuff you can’t find anymore that’s for sure😁
Every vette there needs to be saved I've been a vette lover sense my first vette ride . When I was about 8 years old. That was 50 years ago. I've owned 4 corvettes sense. I'll always own one until my last day !!!
It brings warmth to my heart that this is a salvage and restoration yard and not a bone yard.
Yes. And if it was a “you pull it” type of place, I’d be in trouble. 😆👍🏻
It makes me sad seeing all those Vettes in such a state. I'm 42 and finally bought my 1st Vette last year an 03. I've had Camaros and Firebirds, this thing is a totally different animal. I loved it.
Yeah, it’s a sad ending for those cars. Hard to imagine that at one point they were brand new sitting at a Chevrolet dealership. Congrats on your 1st Corvette, and thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻

If GM would ship all new Corvettes directly to this guy, he could not have more Corvettes there
They are some of my favorite people. VERY skilled and capable. I bought a 1972 Roadster, a 1976 T Top, and a 1982. They are very fair with pricing and they do know what the value of the parts and cars. All of the cars I bought need some work but that's what I love to do. They have 350 cars but probably sold 350 cars over the years. If you like the personality of the sixties, seventies this is the place for you. Don't run from a project car - run to it! They might not agree with you but they were right.
I am restoring a 1976 Corvette I will be getting in touch with you.
I have a 78 L82 . I am glad to see all the parts you store but sure hope I never need one of the parts.
This makes me appreciate the guys that took care of my 69 427 for 54 years before I got her. Thank you gentleman. And Love the grave yard crawls! Makes us proud of what we have curated for the next Gen.. just sayin.
Hey this is my grandpa! I still go back to the shop every now and then, too busy with college. I remember working here during the summers when I was kid, cool interview always interesting to hear papa talk about corvettes!
Great guy and a fascinating place. They help keep C3s and C4s on the road! Glad you enjoyed the video and Thank You for watching! 😊👍🏻
Hurts me a little seeing all those messed up and neglected C3s... I have a beautiful '69 C3 convertible, original 350 and TH400. Everything works and it runs and drives great. At least I know where I can get parts if needed! 👍
Yeah, at some point they were all brand spanking new. lol 😆 Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Hurts to see!!! .-)
Yes! But plenty of good original parts. Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻
Excellent beautiful sublime immortal.. Corvette Rules Forever 🚗
The two most oversold and unloved generations, just rotting away in the Florida weather. Well good for this guy keeping the dream alive I guess, someone's gotta do it.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Sickening
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Its a shame seeing all those out in the weather. I know there's no realistic way to store them all out of the weather, but especially with it being in Florida, many, if not most of those cars will be useless before they can be parted out.
Yes, I was talking with a friend about that, but it would be expensive to put a big roof over that large a property.
@@76vette I'd at least stick some 2x4's under the frames setting on the ground.
Or cinder blocks.
Great resource for GM parts. I wish I knew about them sooner. It’s tough to see so many Vettes in that condition, but 1) It means parts for our projects, and 2) It means the cars that are left are more valuable. Thanks for the tour!
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
If Wally doesn't have the part you are looking for it may not exist. LOL He is a dealer for several companies so he can supply reproduction parts as well as original parts. They don't make C3s or C4s anymore so I believe that someday a lot of the Corvettes you see there will be restored either by Wally or one of his customers. Lets hope anyway. As always, great video Luis. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words as well as recommending Corvette Generation in the first place. 😊👍🏻 I enjoyed your last video as well.

All of the valuable numbers matching Stingrays, most of them were kept on properties unless they had irreversible damages, then you might find a big block numbers corvette by title in the yard like this!!...Like a 1970 454 might not be common in salvage but look for one!! If parts weren't so expensive, they wouldn't end up like this!! American Muscle!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Thanks for the tour, a plethora of C3 and C4 parts to be had.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
😱😥😭 see all those corvettes it hurts as a vette lover some in pieces
NICE FILM! THX!
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Back in 2001 I read a add for a 1982 Special Edition Corvette, add read only 700 miles, yes only 700 miles, Vandalize . $10,000. Being vandalize , I taught the car was in bad shape. Insurance paid full value at that time. months later I called , and the guy told me that the car only had miner scratches, the owner did not want it anymore, sold it for 7,000 dollars. I was so mad when I heard it only had a few scratches. Always go look at a car that has insurance damage, it’s worth the time to check it out.
Yes, always look at the car. What a deal with such low mileage. Thank you for sharing! 😊👍🏻
I just found the holey holy Grail of corvettes c3 c4 my 2 favorite models the 69sting-ray is buy far one of Chevrolet best design and the c-4 was so far ahead of its time . Each one i love made in America by by hand not on an assembly line each one beautifully handcrafted and brought to life it is a dream of mine to own these one day again I had a c4 before it was it was the best I ever owned even if it was a maid to be a copy of the Cal 96 Corvette the blue with white racing stripe I always told myself if I ever got one it have to be a ZR1 are you know standard just not automatic guess what I 😅 I found one in my price range and I jump on it the guy I bought it from he bought it for his son they did a nice good job It ran great !!!!!!! They hooked it up just write the car lease off the line and take off it was really fast. Had to letit go best thing at the time. "Not in my write steat óf mind doing better now but my dream was always to owner a stingray now Willie you giving me another chance the only before this the only way I'd ever get one would be if I won the lottery I don't play the lottery but I love Corvettes. Wally thank you for what you've done you're giving me dream back thanks
Thanks for posting. This is a great resource. I could walk around there all day. 😀
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Im a Camaro guy. but my lifelong dream is a CORVETTE! NOw. I see 350 of them ..inthat condition..Sad!..but very nice and helpful video.🏁🏁🏁🏁👆🗽🗽
Yes, sad indeed, but also plenty of original parts to keep the rest of them on the road. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Thanks for making us aware of this resource. I have had a '75 C3 as "lawn sculpture for a couple decades and may be restoring it after I retire.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Thanks for the info vintage vette brother.
Of course 😊👍🏻
Wow, great video, this might come in handy....Hope people save those things someday!
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
This is awesome! We are planning to move to Lake County this summer and this place will come in handy. Guess I could still have stuff shipped if needed, but it'll be nice to be closer.
Yes, having the place somewhat close is great. Whereabouts in Lake County are you moving? I’m in Ocala, Marion county. 😊👍🏻
Wow there's my heaven ❤️, great video, keep going 🙂✌️🎉
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
more like hell with the condition of those Vettes .
I get a feeling of peace and contentment watching the walk around the yard and all old cars.
May they rust… err, I mean Rest In Peace. 😆. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Great source of parts! I wish I owned a vacant shopping center. I would gut it and move all this inside. Put the cars on 'pallets' with castor wheels under them. Very nice. We have a old GTO, it's a major effort to find parts or mechanical assistance. At least you have a resource. Wish I still had my 69 coupe now.
Love your vacant-shopping-center idea. Kinda like the guy who used to have the muscle car museum down in Punta Gorda, Florida. He had some since GTOs in addition to the biggest Corvette collection I’ve ever seen. I’m sure your GTO is a lot of fun, and you can always buy another ‘69 Vette. lol 😆👍🏻
I live in hernando county..I’ll definitely keep this place in mind for my 87 c4
A great resource. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
All those Vettes just rotting away😥
Yes, sad to see. But I’m sure most of them were wrecked before ending there. Lots of good replacement parts though. 😆 Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Awesome
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Nice to see such as Corvette junkyard. It's 350 Corvettes here so it's 350 stories on how they got there. I'd like to hear every story...
You are correct. Every car has a story. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Awesome upload. I need a 69 L46 fan shroud. I’m calling!
I’m sure Wally can help you 😊👍🏻
Can't imagine owning something and ever allowing to get to that point. If you can't take care of something you don't deserve to have it... As was said it's crazy to think these cars were all brand new and someone's pride and joy at some point. I guess at least they'll help get or keep some others on the road.
I totally agree, but I am sure that-with a few exceptions-most ended there due to accidents and most insurance companies will just total them instead of paying for expensive repairs. That and time sitting under the weather does not help. It appears most have been gutted so hopefully, as you mentioned, those parts will help people who are fixing or restoring their Corvettes. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
@@76vette Thank you for sharing. Not something you see very often (I've only ever seen one Vette (an '86 or '87 I believe) in the U Pull and Pay by me. Would love to check this place out but though I'm in Florida it's pretty far.
They don’t allow people to walk in and look through the boneyard, which I understand. If someone gets hurt it’s a problem. Wally was very kind to show me around, but I kept an eye out for snakes and spiders. lol 😆
@@76vette HAHAHAHA I'll bet! Black Widow city.
Thanks for the info on corvette generations!!! They had my 81 turning signal arm with the cruise controls on it. Been looking for one for about 2 years!! Now I got everything to finish the rebuild on the steering column. Also they may have the pigtails I need for my 86 Pace Car that are in need of replacement. They are now on my speed dial on my phone(got about 20 corvette salvage yards on it). I would love to get one of those 68 -72 convertibles from him to rebuild. Might have to make a deal with him. Lol. Again, thanks for the info.
Thank you so much for sharing that info, and I’m so glad to hear you were able to find the parts you needed to complete your steering column rebuild. It’s a great resource for sure. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
@@76vette think he might sell/trade one of those ragtop 68 or 69 vettes?? I got a good trade car I bought. A 1973 Roadrunner barn find. No rust, never touched, 60,000 miles original. I don't have a 68 or 69 convertible vette. Just wondering.....
I cannot answer that, but you should contact Wally and see what he says. parts@corvettegeneration.com
Been there done that. Just about anything can be found. Owner is a little strange but had some nice conversation with him and his wife.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Very sad video seeing all those Vettes in shambles... reminds me of watching those suffering stray dog commercials ; (
Well, at least cars are inanimate objects, but I’d say that a great portion of the inventory at this salvage yard is unusable. Stuff eventually deteriorates. ☹️ Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻

I had a 1976 corvette with the same rims on that 78. Where these aftermarket or did the rims come from the factory?
If you’re talking about the slotted rims, those were optional factory wheels for 1976 Corvettes.
someone needs to go back there with a drone
That’s a great idea! Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
It's so sad to see all those vettes rotting away.
Yes. But hopefully, some of those parts will be given a second lease on life. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻

How much do you think a 1977 torch red corvette, with 116000 miles on it.very well maintained, many updates, headers, exhaust, new wiring, tires wheels, high performance intake ,new front end rear end everything new except the engine, paint and exterior excellent, Needs new carpet, I have it, not installed. Treated very nice, used once a week, never abused.lol russell wayne boyd.
Hi Russell. Hard to answer without seeing it in person, but I’d guesstimate (provided there’s no rust), anywhere from $12,000 on the low side because of the mileage and supply, to $20K if it is pristine. Things like a factory 4-speed transmission and a/c can add value. I would also install the new carpet if you want to get the most money out of it. And “updates” usually have different meaning between buyers and sellers. Again, this is just a ballpark estimate with a 72.59355% error margin. 😆👍🏻
Do they sale the corvette setting out in front there!!

I have a dumb question. I was going through my 87 vette. Behind the driver seat in the cubby tray. If you remove the tray, what is the part for, that has steel lines connected to it, that is mounted to the floor. Searched the internet and read through the book and cant find any info on what it is, or it's function. I could loosen a line and see what comes out, that would narrow down details but hate too loosen a line and find out i should not have. lol.. Any info would be appreciated.. Be safe..
I am not familiar with C4s, but if you call Wally at Corvette Generation, I am sure he will be able to answer your question. Good choice not loosening the lines without finding out their function. 😊👍🏻 Corvette Generation 16541 US-301, Dade City, FL (352) 523-0900 corvettegeneration.com
