I really love how Jackson care about his mother. He didn't care about his feeling and so many people look down on him. But he is strong to do anything so that he can pay the bill to the hospital. It's evident that she lacks empathy and compassion, and her treatment of both Jackson and Aiden is completely unjustified. Frankly, neither Jackson nor Aiden deserve someone like Summer in their lives. She's proven herself to be manipulative, insensitive, and altogether unworthy of their affection. It's baffling how they could even consider falling for someone as toxic as her. Let's hope they both come to their senses and find someone who truly appreciates and respects them, unlike Summer.

Ok I love the art style too, but, the plot. I’m honestly kind of on Jackson’s side. He went through a lot to try to raise that money for his mom, and as much as it hurt him to do that to Summer, he knew he just had to make the sacrifice, and he was also working just as hard for that money. And considering how many jobs he was working, it just started to drive him mad, but it wasn’t really his fault. He was just hurt to see his girlfriend being taken away by Aidan because of smth that *he* did. Also, there isn’t really any reasonable excuse to forget ur gf’s birthday but he was under *a lot* of stress

FINALLY! Someone who explains Jackson’s side. Edit: Now I realized all of them are red flags. Jackson for even suggesting to Summer to pretend to be his boss’ gf and forcing himself on her. Summer for getting emotionally involved with Aiden and flirting with him. Aiden because even if he found out that Summer had a bf he still flirted with her and still tried to kiss her and whatsoever. Aiden’s Stepsister, a red flag in every way. Aiden’s Family, forcing him to marry someone out of his will when he actually wants to be a singer. i feel really bad for jackson. he was really stressed because it was his literal mom, and besides summer, she was all he had in life. when she was hospitalized he panicked and went to any length to try and save her. once she agreed he started too feel jealous (understandable) while she was doing the job. summers perspective makes it seems like all he wants is money, which is true in a way, but its to save the life of his mom. imagine the guilt and heartbreak he'd feel if he hadn't raised the money and she ended up dying. not to mention, he still has to live. its just him and his mom who can't work due to her hospitilization. he'd also have to pay for many house things that adults would deal with; a lot of pressure for a teenager. then in the end he loses one of the only good things in his life. summer was supposed to be there for him through thick and thin, when he was stressed and overworked, and when he's just joking and laughing with her on the farm. instead of helping him through the time and talking to him nicely, she just ended up arguing and left him while he was at the lowest point in his life. he was angry at the end because he felt betrayed. like he was going through all of those things alone with no one to help him. she was helped by raising a large amount of money yes, but gave no emotional support. he had the weight of himself and another life, his moms at that, on his shoulder. honestly summer seems like a great friend but shes not the best with empathy or emotional support. honestly this story gives me "traitor" by olivia rodrigo vibes- (from jacksons perspective of course)

I actually empathise with Jackson. He wasn’t being greedy for money or anything he just wanted his mother to survive. Love Summer she's so brave, talented, kind, caring, friendly, honest, beautiful, hardworking, confident, loving and a perfect actress. The way Meg treated Summer was awful ruining the party and ending her relationship everyone has a right to go for they're dreams and Summer deserves to be with Aidan. Jackson did everything so his mom would get better but Summer clearly didn't care The way Jackson acted to Summer when they started haning out with Aidan and when Meg tried to break Aidan's and Summer's relationship was just awful. What was he supposed to do though? Let his mother die? Aidan also scolded Jackson for selling of his girlfriend when he's the one who was leading him into it. This story was so frustrating I realised that in most of these stories they have to turn the guys who were there for the protagonist into monsters and turn the new guy to the hero. Which is always so upsetting seeing how loyal they were before.

I thought Aidan is gonna give me some second male lead syndrome however he was the MAIN character. And I feel so bad for Jackson. Things just don't go always good in life, his decision is understandable but it's not really a good call and also he made mistakes along the way. I guess feelings do change in time. bro this main character is a PICK ME, never once does she acknowledge how JACKSON feels, and the fact that his mother is fricking dying, give him some slack. he literally trusted you ENOUGH to let you pretend date this guy so he could make the money, but all she could think about is how he "sold" her when it's so much more complicated than that. you literally never see the MC empathizing or thinking of jackson and what he's going through... and ofc jackson would get jealous, like she's obviously developing feelings for the dude when she was supposed to just pretend, and then is upset with jackson for getting jealous wthhhhh
