And he asked the question himself, if maybe there is an improvement in his packing capability after the hundreds of banana box tests he has done! Plus of course these videos are good fun!😉

1:31, insane how much more space there is in the trunk both to the left and right of the banana boxes. If the boxes was just a tiny bit smaller you could fit 1-2 more. Model 3 has a great trunk just not for large items, but massive space if you are carrying smaller stuff. Then remember how the BMW i5 could only take 4 boxes despite being 35 cm longer.
It simply means that you're a senior now. Trained by the family.
Since model 3 highland is also expected to be a little more efficient, could you redo 1000km with highland and warmer weather? 🙊🙏🏻

Wouldn't it be just as correct to say that it's the old test that should be disqualified Bjørn? I would say both are valid, since you fit as many you could in both cases. Hard to know if the seats now fold 5 cm lower etc.

I wonder if you could redo by removing bavk seat base, that one is easy to remove and make really flat. I still could not find a clear and believable measurement of M3 cargo max + under boot + frunk, but I still believe it is only 10cu.ft less than MY.
Hi Bjorn, thanks for another great video. Are you sure the front seats are in the same position as the previous test? If they were forward by a couple of cm, that might make the difference needed for another box each side? Just a thought.

Highland seems to have slightly more space in the cabin, which allowed to pack more boxes…
It's very plausible there would be two extra... But maybe more likely one, with packing tolerance accounting for it being two... The test is valid. It's within the tolerance of one or two that we would have to allow for the banana box test. The only way to really know more precisely would be to try to replicate the packing arrangement in an old pre highland model three. But then, if there is a difference, then the whole arrangement might be shifted. And then it could easily turn out being two banana boxes less. Anyway it's within specification

Possible Shrinkflation on the Banana Boxes? We all know manufacturers have shrunk food packaging and kept the price the same to hide the higher prices. Maybe they did the same with the banana boxes?

not all your banana boxes are the same..pink ones are shorter, right??? If we look at 1:35, is clear dole boxes are huge compared to green and pink graphics ones Have all boxes same model or else not good tests
I use the same boxes for all the cars I test. Yes, 3 of them are smaller. Not all banana boxes have the exact same shape. That's the nature of banana boxes.

Model 3 highland taillight looks like it has poor red colour. Not like others brand they have really good red colour on taillight.
