  • The idea that the Niners can't win unless it's played on their terms is pretty silly. When the 49ers sent the Cowboys packing last year, the game was tied at 9 going into the 4th quarter. They had no TD's and weren't going up and down the field with ease yet came out on top. Acting like Philly dropping 31 on the Niners D had nothing to do with the offense is also really stupid. The 49ers had no extended offensive drives the whole game. Never giving your defense a rest will wear them out. The Eagles earned every bit of that NFC title but it's not some formula you can actually repeat. A lot of this analysis is lazy by Nick and Greg.

    • @@cjp1599 Except the point is their argument is that the Niners can't win unless the game is played on their terms. There's no argument in the world that can make a convincing case that the 49ers and Cowboys being what it was going into the 4th quarter was on their terms. They won anyway. Only Brock Purdy seems to be judged in a manner where the weapons he has is actually a slight against him to those who view him that way. Hurts has weapons and an o-line. Dak has weapons and an o-line. Purdy just has weapons. He doesn't have an o-line. We saw what the weapons did w/o the QB. They did next to nothing.

  • I hate when people reference the NFC title game & the eagles scoring 31 and doing whatever they wanted on offense as a reason why they possibly would’ve won anyway. Of course the offense was going to score once the offense of the niners was deemed literally non-existent. When the defense is playing 70, 80 - 90 snaps because their offense literally can’t move the ball , it’s gonna happen. The defense plays off will & their belief they can win the game, once that goes out the window, it’s not gonna be the same defense. And anybody that knows anything about football should know that.

When the niners win, they win big this year, 7 points or more. Or it’s essentially a close loss. The eagles have been behind and came back this year a lot, a script the niners have not loss to this year. The niners are coming off 10 days rest while the Eagles defense just played 90 snaps in an overtime game and had only 6 days. My opinion is because this game is not for the Super Bowl we won’t see what would’ve happened because the niners will most likely win by a TD or more but because even if the Eagles lose this game , they’ll still be in the driver seat for the #1 seed , it won’t matter & we won’t really see the rematch we’ve all been waiting for until the NFC title game again.

This game was a better indicator of what should have happened last year because both teams left the field reasonably healthy after the game. So, Eagles want nothing to do with running it back because they know they got lucky. Eagles then proceeded to lose to a hobbled Mahomes, even though they had an easy win against the 49ers.

  • The niners are the most complete team in the NFL and it's really not even close. Every position group is at the very least very good and most are great or elite. I think the Cowboys have a more complete team than the eagles as well...but heres the difference: the eagles have Jalen Hurts at qb. Purdy and Dak have to prove they can do just enough to get to the superbowl and maybe even win. Jalen already proved that. Now, I think Brock is the real deal personally and they were my midseason nfc pick (I picked the Cowboys preseason). But sometimes, if you have an elite quarterback then it doesnt matter how good the other team is. So the Eagles should be co-favorites right now. Also, I think if Dak keeps up the kind of play he has since their bye week, he'll win the MVP.
