In the 1960's, Nintendo was in serious debts when their President noticed a toy their janitor had created out of boredom. That toy ended up saving Nintendo.

    • If I’m remembering right the Yakuza started as a group of aggressive merchants. They kept business running and often running in their direction. Unlike many Crime Organizations Yakuza are first and foremost business men, not thugs. Breaking people is an important secondary tactic. It’s because of that they are as open as they are in Japanese public, most of the time no one has anything on them because of how they do things.
