  • I have just installed a cheaper M.2 Birufication card for x4x4x4x4 in the PCIE 4.0 Slot, no heat sinks, blinding bright LEDs, if there was a dimmer switch, I'd be all for it. I agree, this is a much thicker PCB for the price $80 when compared to the $25 x4 board I bought. I can see the advantages. Looking at this board, I might just need an AIO Cooler for the Hyper M.2 PCIE Gen 5. Running a Prime Z790-A ((1 PCIE 5.0 SLOT) GPU) I'll be adding a separate network card for this.

  • hi I'm from Brazil, I bought (hyper m.2 x16 gen 4 card) and, my motherboard is an Asus B85M-E/BR motherboard for Intel LGA-1150 VGA DVI HDMI (2015) It is compatible? Is it possible to use with 2 or more nvme m.2 ssd hds?

  • 32:20 - Hype M.2 PCIe Gen Add in card Edit: Hyper

    • Thanks for the shortcut. Lots of questions come to mind about this. It is my understanding Intel 14th gen supports PCIe Gen5 bifurcation of CPU lanes only to x16 or x8+x8 (not x4+x4+x4=x4). Further, Intel states that PCIe Gen5 is blessed for GPU use but not storage. I assume if one employs a discrete GPU, then at most two drives (of the four on the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen5 card) will be functional , and the primary m.2 of the motherboard (the one on CPU lanes) will be disabled. Before buying, I will need to see an in-depth review/demonstration of the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen5 which uses this card on a specific supported motherboard to establish a Windows boot drive. Then let's see performance and thermal benchmarks with four Crucial T700 SDDs in various RAID configurations. I expect the thermals to be a real challenge.

  • Will the Hyper M.2 Gen5 work in a Gen 3 PCIe slot?

    • Technically yes, but you would be better of using the Gen 4 version. Also your motherboard need to support PCIe Bifurcation. You should expect much less throughput/performance due to the reduction in bandwidth.
