  • Just a disclaimer here....I'm a professional cleaner, this method of cleaning an oven ONLY works if you clean your oven on a regular basis (once or twice a year). It does NOT work if your oven is encased in an inch worth of 10 year crud. In that case, do yourself a favor, use the toxic oven cleaner and start cleaning your oven regularly after that. If you're ultra lazy, put some aluminum foil at the bottom to catch everything. Also, using vinegar in your washing machine will ruin the seals over time. You're better off using a dishwasher pod as its designed to be safe for machines.That said....great vid!

    @a.randolph8112@a.randolph8112Ай бұрын
    • People should NOT line the bottom of some ovens with aluminum foil, as some oven manuals say NOT to do this. I had a tenant who did this and it broke the oven.

    • Are you talking about the laundry washing machine or the dishwasher? Thx!

      @brisantiago6@brisantiago6Ай бұрын
    • Both the laundry and dish washer machines have deep cleaning rituals and products which are outlined in your manual. I’m a lazy eco-hippie, so I usually source a more environment friendly deep cleaner, but I always use one designed for the specific application. And while we’re on the topic of the environment, those disposable dusters are made from virgin timber, usually from the Brazilian rainforest. So if we care about the lungs of the Earth, we might want to use a rag, or something less disposable instead. I know they’re tempting, I have one too, and then I read an article… 😱

      @ginger9475@ginger9475Ай бұрын
    • I disagree with this comment! I used to use the toxic oven cleaner and it did NOT work as well as baking soda mixed with dish soap. And I use eco dish soap, not Dawn.

      @xavthomas@xavthomasАй бұрын
    • My washing machine is 30 years old and I've been using white vinegar instead of fabric softener the entire time and never had to replace seals. However, I don't use it every single wash, probably every 4th with hot water. Keeps the funk away for sure. I don't use fabric softener, I put a dry towel in with damp clothes in dryer, when solar dryer isn't usable. Dries things much faster.

    • @@sillymamacita3854hearing my mom talk about the amount of effort she had to go through just to get me to school on time as a kid is crazy. It’s somewhat comforting, especially now, to know that I’ve always been this way, my entire life, my mornings have always been brutal. It doesn’t matter how much sleep. I’m not choosing to be this way. The time blindness thing has always been my biggest struggle, my most enduring trait, it was what made me seek out ADHD resources beyond meds from my doc bc I’ve been diagnosed since my 20s, but honestly never thought it had anything to do with everything that keeps causing problems in my life. I just thought it explained why I couldn’t hold focus and got bored easily in class and never did homework. I had no idea there was a bunch of stuff online for us to help us function better! Until recently, I just thought adhd was mostly school related stuff but it’s not! It’s been really helpful to seek out things specifically aimed at people with adhd. It’s wild how much it affects and how many of my worst traits are just symptoms.

  • 🎉l worked for a fire restoration company. My teamed cleaned the house from smoke damage. We had to wipe down every surface with a damp cloth. The big no-no was to spray the walls directly. The liquid run down is what causes the streaks! Have the microfiber cloth folded to about a 4 in square. Spray the cloth and wipe, refolding the cloth as needed. When all the cloth's surfaces are dirty. Toss and get a new cloth. Repeat.

Dramatic irony is when the audience knows something the character doesn't (horror films: we see the killer hiding behind the door and scream at the heroine not to go in that room). The more you know:)

A rain storm occurring right after washing one's windows or car would definitely be "forces beyond human control" thwarting the intentions of someone who has just washed her windows or car, in my opinion. Great and inspiring video, Cass! Thank you!

Once I started taking out the shelves and drawers, years worth of nastiness was caked into every nook and cranny. Took me hours to clean. All because neither the previous tenants nor the landlord thought they needed to take out the shelves to clean. 🤷‍♀️

If you have pets or cook lots of stinky food curtains can start to smell. I wash mine every other year, upstairs one year and downstairs the next. I made all my curtains though so I know the fabric was pre washed and those hems are solid. You could always just pop stinky curtains on the line for a few hours though if you are worried about shrinking. Let the UV rays do the hard work 😊

    • To clean microwave, roll a lemon between your hands to loosen up the juices, cut it in half and squeeze all the juice into a bowl, then add one cup of water. Drop in the lemon halves and place the bowl in your microwave. Run the microwave on high for five minutes. The water will be boiling temp. I use a 2 cup glass pyrex measuring cup so I can pick it up by the handle with an oven mitt and remove. This will cause a nice steam and any splatters loosen up and wipe off easy. The lemon makes it smell nice and clean.. Wipe it clean, and you're done!
