How to Properly Repair a Bent Wheel

2024 ж. 14 Мам.

There is a huge difference between "road rash" and a "bent rim". The road or curb rash is cosmetic. It can be repaired in a DIY fashion in some cases. However, bent wheels will cause damage to your axles, bearings, and other suspension parts, aside from a wobble steering wheel. Find out how professionals repair my pot-holed rim and the steps needed to safely restore the integrity of my aluminum rim. Hope you enjoy! -L

    • @@theoffice9803 You act like this is rocket science. He is heating up an alloy and using a hydraulic ram to bend it back. A child can detect a bent rim (extremely easy to see once you spin it on a balancer). Not hating on his work...one def has to be careful and know what he's doing but its hardly advanced work

  • Great video and Mario is a top guy. I was taught that you put a tyre or tire on the rim and line up the red spot on the sidewall with the valve, then balance it. This results in less weights on your wheel to balance it, irrespective of the tyre or tire and the wheel's imperfections.

The first try the wheel wasn't round, the second go they actually machined some off the face of the wheel and it looked terrible while spinning, and still wobbled. Your wheel shop looks legit! Can't trust just any place with this kind of work.

I was thinking that I was needing something new suspension wise as the roads have been also here but I just had it serviced and they said everything was perfect.
