Two Methods of Making Cooper Plating Solution || DIY with your own hands
Hello Everyone
In the last video, I showed the easiest way to make a nickel plating solution. If you haven't watched it, I recommend that you do. I will leave the link below.
In this video I will only follow up on that topic. More precisely, today I will show two easy ways in which you can make a cooper plating solution. The necessary materials are much easier to find than in the last project.
I won't write much, everything is nicely explained in the video.

Thanks for the video. So, what are the exact measurements for vinegar & baking soda? And is this scalable? So if I needed to make a larger amount of electrolyte would I just double (or more) the amounts? What voltages & currents did you use? So, the more copper you use the better the process? And how would the plating time vary based on the size of the piece being plated? Thanks.
Thank you very much for your interest, the formula is very nice, thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting, many greetings
Really great video. Clear and concise.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting, I'm glad you like it and that the video was useful.
Great job! Thank you! If you have access to an auto-body supply store you can get paint strainers that work great for catching the dirt. If not, lay the paper towel in a typical plastic V shaped funnel. It will help you indeed. See you in the next installment.
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I didn't expect that this strainer wouldn't be able to do the job, so I had to improvise something quickly. I have seen such things as you are telling me about, but I have not had the opportunity to use them. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely have to get that for the future.
BRAVO GOOD MAN, YOU JUST SAVED US ALL A LOT OF MONEY
Perfect clear example 👍
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it
congratulations very nice video. I would like to ask you which mixture is better, with salt or soda. and what are the proportions with soda? thanks
I would recommend you to make a mixture with salt, it is a little cleaner and almost no sediment remains when the mixture is left in the bottles for a long period. Although, the effect is pretty much the same, there isn't really any big difference. I would also recommend that you use protective equipment, a protective respiratory mask, protective gloves and goggles. If possible, work in a ventilated room.
Thank you very much, items I have made the nickel mixture with great success. Now I want to do copper. I want to first copper and then nickel plate an old razor, and I see in some places that it peeled off it has copper plating first.
Excellent! I need to try it.
I'm glad you like it. You should definitely try it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Enjoy it this has been great to watch was very interesting, your one clever guy and that's why i love watching your videos. 👍
Thank you my friend. I'm glad you like it. You will get me used to your positive comments and kind words :):):) Thank you once again for everything.
@@fastfixks they are well deserved
@@tinkeringtaylor3053 I hope so
Perfect Thanks
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. Have a nice day.
Thanks for video
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Never imagine using baking soda could make it faster also cleaner process. No dirt and filtering process. Nice job
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting. I hope the video was helpful.
Was there really no cleanup? Not seeing any note to clarify, I just assumed he simply left it out of the video for the baking soda method.
@@NordicDan I didn't clean anything, the soda dissolves in the liquid. When it is left to stand overnight, a certain sediment forms at the bottom, which is not visible in the video. I only noticed that the next day when I posted the video. But for the most part, nothing was subsequently cleaned without showing it on video.
@@fastfixks Very nice! Thank you for the quick reply.
9:37 What happens when one leaves it in the solution for one hour? Is the copper layer getting thicker?
excellent job i will be doing a nickel plate job would this be good for a base for nickel ? thanks
You're great
Thank you very much for the nice comment, I'm glad you like my work.
Good
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it
👍👍👍👍
Great tips as always! Do you think one solution is better than the other, as far as the salt or baking soda? 👍🎥😎 Roger
Preparation with baking soda may be quick. I did not notice any difference between them during cooper plating. Thank you for your comment my friend
Can aluminium be electroplated with that solution? Pozdrav za bosnu
I haven't tried working with aluminum, so I don't know if it's possible or not. Veliki pozdrav i tebi iz Bosne
it is possible, but aluminum should be etched in NaOH
Hello, can you send me the formula for making Fantachrome ingredients, thank you
Do the copper ions make the solutions blue?
Yes, they do. Nickel plating solutions are green, copper plating is blue. A little strange, but that's how it is at least for me.
Conclusion: Vinegar + Soda makes a solution 3 times faster
Exactly. Thanks for watching and commenting.
