The cosmetics were never the issue with the game - the cosmetics actually reflected the games setting and themes better than the environments/maps theyve chosen do

@@rambo-cambo3581 there's a cosmetic that makes the back of recon trucks not visible, they have Pay-to-win skins in a BF game. Cosmetics ARE an issue.

@@rambo-cambo3581 what do you mean man? what do you think specialists are? they literally ruined the game on the theory of selling hero shooter cosmetics in a hero shooter. not a single cosmetic in 2042 is as good as what we got in battlefield v, and the customization is worse. and personally i think the setting is so silly that the cosmetics reflect absolutely nothing. looks like a bunch of airsofters, and frankly most airsofters look more real. as a gun dude, the guns make no sense either nor do their cosmetics. nothing makes any sense really

2042 desperately needs Operations. Would be nice to expand on 2042 lore. The creative team did a great job at world building and DICE is barely doing anything with it.

@@victorsuares2104 I agree, since 2042 doesn't have a single player campaign, having operations play out like a war campaign with narrative story dialog (like BF1) would've been a nice alternative to immerse players into the lore of the maps of 2042 and the battles happening in them that you are taking part in. It properly sets up the factions, tells you why this area is important to capture, the benefits it'll provide for your army, the consequences if it falls into enemy hands, stuff like that.

The maps in this game are the biggest in the series to contain the massive 128-player servers. So to have the same level of quality as other battlefield maps they need more time to make them.

@@gnspectre yeah but spearhead by far plays the best in 128 cq and its literally smaller than almost all the base game maps. base game maps are just big cuz dice was being silly while devving this game.

@@yayayayayaya8140it’s actually because when the game originally went into production it was going to be just Hazard Zone. The size of the base maps is most likely linked to that fact alone seeing as for a Tarkov style game mode you want the maps to be big enough that squads can actually travel across them rather than run 100 feet and be on top of every other squad in the lobby.

@@gnspectre Which is why they should get rid of 128 in future installments. It's just not worth it to sacrifice map quality, performance, destruction just to have 128 players. 64 players is completely fine in my book.

Yes. It has really become a fun, genuinely good MP game. Love the gameplay, and maps like Nordvik is where I really get my battlefield fix. The fighting inside those cubes is ridiculous fun

They did some tweaks to weapon audio in the latest patch. They seemed louder

It's still sub par compared to other modern shooters, even though it's more fun and playable now- 2042 will never see its full potential as a major AAA competitor And for a battlefield title over a year in? It's very light on content, largely because it released with next to nothing

The game has gotten a lot more grittier recently tbh. Maps are differently color graded, the characters look war-torn and less pristine, the soundtracks for post-launch content sound more what you'd expect from DICE. They're continuously taking steps in the right direction, albeit a bit too slowly.

Yeah, especially considering the fact that the map is based in Northern Sweden. There are only a few months per year where that part of the country isn't completely covered in snow.

Would rather have this map in a pitch black setting where are gun attachments like laser and lights play a role

That’s the problem. It doesn’t. Kinda just feels like a cheap imitation of battlefield. Everything just feels janky.

Idk, BF4 was significantly worse than BF3 for map design, though. Also BF1 and BFV are still playable on current gen hardware... it doesn't really make sense for them to add it in when everyone can just buy those games right now and play them. Hopefully we get more BF2, BFBC2, and BF3 maps as they were the peak of the franchise.

Ripple Effect isn’t even working on this game lol. They are responsible for Portal and if you aren’t aware it has gotten no content other then a few weapons and vehicles. They aren’t even responsible for fixing bugs. Ripple Effect is working on a new Battlefield experience which isn’t a main game but is in the Battlefield universe
