Sewing Through Depression: What a Project During the Middle of a Depressive Episode Looks Like

Well, it’s been almost a month since I’ve posted a video but I‘m back! It’s been a rough summer and pride month flew past me without so much as a rainbow donut. But, that’s what happens when you’re deep in a depressive episode. But, I’m on my way out of this and I wanted to let you into some of what I’ve been feeling this month.
Beyond all the mental health stuff I have this pride dress! It's an 1860s inspired tie-dye dress. It ends up... interesting.

  • I really appreciate the extra commentary and thoughts! Have been having a rough go of it in similar ways, so seeing another person also having to adjust for brain fog, extending timelines, etc is really helpful. (I also just generally enjoy detailed content about crafts) Hope you have a good break!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words! I think talking about the process of making things, especially when it doesn't go to plan, is important!

  • Thanks for sharing your video! I liked the dress in the look and design. My brother passed in april and ive really thrown myself into making a kirtle for the renaissance fair this month. Its been a good labor for processing mental health things. Greetings from NC, hope you are well

  • This has been the most enlightening 42 minutes I’ve spent in a while. I appreciate the transparency and honesty as to your mental health because I’m in a time of not being able to do ANYTHING. It’s SO FRUSTRATING to not get anything done because of mental Heath, then feel even worse because I’m not getting anything done. Thank you for your content.

    • Thank you for sticking with it! I've had comments that the brain fog made it too hard to get through. Which I totally understand but has definitely been sitting hard on me. Hearing someone related to it means a lot! I hate the lack of motivation because I know that creating things makes me feel better. But if I'm too depressed to make things that doesn't really matter at the end of the day!

  • Thank you for this video! Loved the candid comments about mental health. I’m struggling with my anxiety right now as I’m attempting to start up my own costuming channel. So this was greatly appreciated!! 😊

    • As long as we're fighting the illness isn't winning! (Even on days when it feels like it is.)
