Hey Pongfinity
now that's a real challenge
Its so nice
*Emil starts winning points when he starts being offensive*
Well playing a defensive style doesn't mean never being offensive, it means waiting for the greatest chance to attack such that you can win the point. There's a big difference between classic and modern defence.
He actually started winning because Mikka stopped playing backspin to his backhand. Emil got pretty good at chopping loops with his backhand but lost every single point (6 times) when Mikka pushed to his back hand

More like he didn't waste opportunity when the opponent's give him a chance.

I like Emil's courage to try something new. It will be a loooong journey though. I tried long pimples several times in training just for fun but i couldn't get close enough to the right movement, speed or anything else xD. Good luck Emil and greetings from Germany to all of you. Stay healthy.
I just love this kind of video, it's so nice to see Emil reinventing himself after getting injured, I'd love to see more of Emil's journey.
What injury did Emil have?
I love Otto's style so much. Its so enjoyable to watch.
As said, completely new concept and series, and I absolutely love it. Amazing video, keep it up

More of this please! So inspiring and informative.
I'd love to see more of this :D Keep up the good work guys
Loved this video and can relate so much since I am a converted chopper as well. Looking forward to see more episodes on Emil’s journey to become a badass chopper 😀.
Nice Emil! Nice Decision! I also took the same decision two months ago :D and is struggle with the same things. I really look forward to see some more of your Challenge and wish you good luck!
This is what we wanted to see 😂
Finally a fellow chopper! I've been playing defence for 2 years now! Emil is taking the right steps to be a great chopper!
I subscribed weeks ago and it was very very worth it! Im inspired and i now am interested in ping pong! Amazing content!
1 year is going to complete waiting for the big video Emil!
Really interesting series! Cant wait for the next one
Lovin it! Looking forward to the updates!
Important and interesting!
I'm so excited to get back to my table tennis class after the Coronavirus!
Lovely, can't wait to see the second episode
Very interesting video! Can’t wait to see another episode
That's so brave of you to commit to completely changing playing styles, especially at your level, Emil! I wish you the best of luck on this journey! You gotta practice spin vs no-spin chops! That's huge for tricking your opponents! ;) And I hope you guys all stay safe and healthy during this time!!
such an awesome channel! I just subscribed!
Thanks!
Great concept. Would like to see more like this :)
Looking forward to the next episode of this series
I love ping pong and pongfinity!!
Yes I was waiting for this!! I’m just getting back into table tennis and love all your uploads!! Also my name is Emil too but I’m from Germany
Love the new style of vid!
Finally! The Emil focused video I always wanted!
Great experiment, esp for the novice chopper. I was a world class track athlete and find table tennis to be an amazing sport. Thanks and keep it up.
I’ve always wondered how you guys did this SENSATIONAL
I rly loved this new episode
We were waiting for that thx!💙 Ly guys💙
You sound like young Gordon Ramsay when you say "I have to practise my chops".

So excited for this series, how often will you post these videos and will you be strictly doing this for a year or will you just post these like every month or so?
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! The hall is closed now due to the ongoing situation with the virus, so we'll have to see when we are able to get back to training and making a second episode. This first episode was filmed in January and February.
it is actually insane i'm here since a long time and i love your channel and... with this video i love it mooore
Thanks for this video about the chopping practice and play. I could understand better.
3:07 "Too high for the Sensei" ahahahaha LMAO respect Otto
my best friend (and doubles partner in my team) also plays long pimples. Started doing this two years ago, when we came out of our youth team and broke into our adult team. The first like half a season was horrible for us, we lost almost every doubles match by him pushing seemingly easy balls into the net - and one time I was quite annoyed (my bad, apologised afterwards), I said to him "thats like the 10th easy return slice you missed". In the next training session he lent me his racket and told me to practice those "easy slices". I turned very quiet after that (got almost no ball over the net). Nevertheless, we're now one of the best doubles in the league and both join a higher ranked team in the summer, so practice indeed makes perfect😉
This is cool to hear, thanks for sharing! Pushing with the long pimple in the beginning is definitely a lot harder than one would think!
Pongfinity Yep. My dad always try’s it-epic fail
Very good video. Keep going Emil!
Thanks for doing this video, it will help me a lot in the future.
Now, We know why he said "switch" with a big smile :) in "Play Ping Pong Against Yourself" video
I sense Emils getting ready for winning some tournaments...
He restarted training After 6 years (he was very strong but 6 years ago he hot injured). I want to see some highlights from him!
@@paozan4855 what did happen to him
@@fifopcmainchannel he got injured at the leg. Watch the First " pongfinity match highlights" from pongfinity ti see him in action. Before that he was in the National team with otto and maybe miikka. Did you ever ask you why he was weaker than otto and miikka in the early period? Well that's the answer.

Thanks! 🙏 They save my day all of time then they uploads video. And these chopper Series get me better pingpong player.
it remids me when i first switched to long pimps it was sooo difficult to get used to it.
It's nice to see Miikka finally has hair, excited to see Otto without his beard
Manav Sankaran look at match highlights 1 and u might change ur mind of excitement
Love to see emil putting in that work
You are the best, thanks for the good moments
Great idea, you can also try to learn a sidespin forehand such as Hou Yingchao, a chinese chopper
@Alois Schaffler correct :)
Is this chop-long pips challenge still going on? A half year update would be cool to see :)
I love pongfinity keep on making AMAZING table tennis content🏓
It's awesome. I wait for more
I love table tennis and I want to get back to my club ASAP
Oh great, since 2 months i also play with long pips it is really cool. I'm looking forward to see the result in one year!
Love your videos, you guys are awesome
I love the new series
Challenge : Try doing an around the net shot from the other end of the net
Anyone else remember when they had 150k subs? That’s me! I’ve been here since week 1! Go Pongfinity!!!
I was here since 50k. It didn't pass much time from 150k to One millions, less than a year
What a cool idea! Keep it up, Emil!
Interesting challenge, good luck with that. I'm far from the same level but I have been playing a more defensive style that before for the last two years, not using long pimples but short ones though, as it is easier to counterattack and block as well with it, but you can also do massive chops. It's really fun, hope you'll enjoy it as much.
what pimple is it? and what blade is it? i use butterfly: joo saehyuk blade, feint long 3 (0.5) and andro plaxon (max) for good power attack all the butterfly rubers is just too slow fore me maby this is somthing fore you :)
Dignics 09c is slow? or 05
You have to play bluestorm z1 turbo max on hurican 5 long the best blade
I use a diamond TC
Challenge: play blowing the ball instead of a racket
Or a blow dryer
that's already done
I the new series is going beyond goofyness. Everything has been pretty well done.
Or why not play a game while someone is blowing you. I don't think that's been done yet.......
Your video made my day! Much love ♥️
Very interesting video guys. Cheers.
Challenge:play in a tennis court with a tennis racket but with a table tennis bal
It won't neither fly nor bounce.
neon cz I’ve tried this as a tennis player and it really doesn’t work well. What’s fun is playing short court or playing with a tennis racket on a rabble tennis table though. Also the reason it doesn’t work well is because the object has such low mass that you just can’t give it enough energy and momentum to go far.
@neon cz idiot
@neon cz wtf do you want me to prove
@neon czexactly
Just realized my table tennis playing style is chopping 😅
This was very helpful for me learning this play style!
Love it! Great idea!
Make a match with three of you anyone who win game you should give to him i phone 11 and make an intro in nepali launguage❤❤
I also want this video love from nepal
Stay safe all of you from corona virus and i want this type of video
new video is on the channel, (table tennis highlights)
When it says 30 seconds ago
thank you coach... your teaching really helpful
I did the same as you but am four years in now. In my experience there are three important things to learn, most important is as you said pushing. Step two is then to be able to vary between chopping against heavy topspin and no spin balls whilst maintaining a good distance to the table. The third step is then to keep the ball low(ish) and be able to place it intentionally. From the few clips in the video I'd recommend stick to steps one (the technique as you mentioned) and two (stand closer to the table, try not to let it drop as far as you do) for now, the third then comes almost by its self.
5:27 ahh weon...
Csmmm🤣
I have a challenge: cook something while using a TT paddle as a knife
Usually i hate it when i have to play against choppers, especially when they stick close to the table and totally ruin the way i want to play. This video made me respect it much more, playing with choppers seems actually difficult and challenging
I usually beat the choppers. I feel Xu Xin xd

Hei! Extremely soulful episode, especially for all the choppers. I’m fascinated by playing in the modern defense style like Filus or Panagiotis play. Difficult to learn but so spectacular! Emil, which pimples do you use?
when you chop go back to the tabel and when you pimpel use the black side BIG TIP PS I AM A CHOPER

Love the idea. Good luck to Emil from Germany 👍🏓 to become a better chopper soon. Love your videos!
I want to see more episodes of this series
Super interesting, thanks guys. So I have tried doing a defensive play with normal pips-in rubbers that are actually meant for attacking and that already is a very interesting way of playing as it allows me to swap between defense and offence , though I mostly play offensively. But i think i would also like to try long pips at some point in time too, my coach uses long pips and has been training me in how to return balls played with long pips (i've always stuggled with it) but perhaps I should try playing with them. He mentioned that the thickness of the sponge in playing with long pips also makes a difference in playing, perhaps look into that as well as you progress through this year.
Cool idea. It's gonna be fun see the progress in a year.
