[DIY] How to make a jig for cutting thin strips / Table saw project #8 / HOMEMADE

How to make a thin strips cutting jig? I made a jig with safety and precision.
Each part was made to be replaceable, and in particular, a handle with a good grip was made with walnut wood and gave a point. For the jig I make, convenience is basic and coolness is essential. haha!!
Made using 18mm birch plywood, walnut wood, 5mm transparent acrylic, and 10mm white acrylic

This is an awesome jig!!! This is something every shop should have. I can now make my own veneer for the inlay I do on the pieces I make. Thank you for sharing another great idea with us. I am going to share this with a couple of KZheadrs I follow that I think would love having this in their shop.
I'd just watched another 'thin rip' video, suggesting to the designer that it'd be better if it were to hook over the fence (his relied on a vertical block being pushed down above the blade) ... then I find you've gone and done exactly as I was suggesting ... nice to know I'm not completely thick ... excellent jig 👍
You are definitely one of the most creative content creators, because you develop solutions instead of just batching out tables (or whatever). Fantastic idea and a great video, as always. Thank you!
Thanks for the nice comment. I enjoy coming up with great ideas and creating them. I want to show better videos to my subscribers, so I keep preparing.
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! You do such nice work! Thank you for sharing this with us. The sticky tape is a wonderful idea!
¡¡FANTÁSTICO!! MUY BIEN...
thank you, my friend, I am Armenian, but I live in Russia, I have a cnc machine and I like to make all sorts of devices. I'm not a carpenter or a carpenter, I just like to make souvenirs sometimes on a CNC machine made of wood. That's why I make all sorts of devices for myself. I have collected about 30 species and some of them have already been made. For myself, I made a sawing table and tools for it. I make all the programs for the cnc machine myself and cut everything on the machine-from which I get satisfaction. My friend has also modeled this device, and as soon as I get home, I will make it. I took a lot of interesting things from you, I think I can make such a machine))) She's just very professional and I don'T NEED that))) MANY THANKS TO YOU AND THOSE PEOPLE WHO SHARE THEIR CREATIVITY. Here I would like to show the dimensions too, otherwise I sit and invent all the dimensions myself and that's all approximately)) Good luck to you in your business👌👋🖐👋👌
Thank you.
that is just plain genius
What a beautifully made jig, great vid and some excellent tips and methods, Thank you
Fantastic, beautiful work. Great engineering. I will use this often. Thank you.
Great jig. I had an idea for a similar jig and will definitely incorporate some of these ideas into mine.

Good job
👌Okay
Merci beaucoup pour la vidéo
Simple and effective. OK!
saludos desde MÉXICO ALL YOUR WORKS ARE CABINETMAKER NOT CARPENTER BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY DETAILED FELICIDADES
Another great idea. By the way I was able to find a table saw blade with a wider kerf. Similar to a dado, with just two blades. Referred to as a bax tenon blade.
kzhead.info/sun/ntqSqKZtsHSIno0/bejne.html 02:28 Coming out here for a moment. It is one blade 8mm thick.
@@carpentak Thank you for the information
I can't help but notice the divot in the right-hand cast iron plate on your table saw. Mine is a solid rectangle 13" wide.
What is the clear sticky material that you used to grip the wood pieces? I have not seen this before. Great videos by the way. I really enjoy your content.
thank you. what you asked is this a.co/d/82LaLiU
👏👏👏👏👏
Do our have plans for thr thin strip jig
hello. I can't make a plan. And since I worked on this jig a long time ago, I don't have any photos of the process. Video is everything. It's not complicated, so I think you can do it by watching the video and following along. Thank you for your support.
What a great accessory! I will definitely try to make one. I recently took strips out of a sapelly plank (16mm) and as I cut them I could see how they twisted. Could you tell me what it is due to? and more importantly, how can I straighten them? Thank you very much.
Wood that is less dry will become deformed. Since this cannot be prevented, store them in large pieces if possible, and cut only as much as necessary. Twisted strips must be corrected with a jointer planer and an automatic planer. It's very difficult with a hand planer. If the condition is severe, it is better to give up.
@@carpentak Thank you very much for the answer friend, it is very helpful. What plastic is the white you use for the fence extension of the other video? What blade do you cut it with?
This is plain white acrylic. Of course, there are acrylic saw blades on the market, but I just cut them with a wood saw blade. no problem in particular
@@carpentak White acrylic do you mean PTFE? In my country acrylic can be any plastic. How many teeth does the disc have? I have a 60 tooth and maybe I will buy an 80 tooth. Thank you very much again, you are very kind.
I don't know if PTFE is right. Here in Korea, they just call it acrylic. My disk has 80 teeth. 60 discs would be good for cutting plastic.
You used some sort of wide tape that was in a roll. It appears to be contact peelable on one side but not so sticky on the bottom side. Can you elaborate as to what it is called? I understand everything else in your video but I've not seen that before. Once again, a wonderful demonstration.
a.co/d/aaHvd48 thanks for the nice comment
Couldn’t make that - I’ve not got enough machines !
muito fixe
Massa.

Excellent! What is that glue for the clear plastic sheets?
thank you The glue is an acrylic-only bond.
👍👍 👍 👍 👍👍
Nice Video, what kind of clear grippy tape did you use on the bottom of the acrylic?
Does the blade cut the bottom of the plexie hold down (where the 2 sided tape is) when you run a pass?
That's right, it's holding down and it's adhesive enough to hold it in place.
Does the saw blade cut the Plexi jig when it passes over it?
@@williammc63 Set the height of the saw blade to be the same as the height of the part. Then just cut off the sticky tape.
Do you have to use acrylic for the shield?
You can just use plywood. Transparent acrylic is good, but plywood is also fine.
😃😃😃
Hello, how are you? I wanted to know what material is that you are using to make the parallel guide the white material.
This is white acrylic. I don't know if they call it differently in other countries. There are many places that sell acrylic here in Korea.
Where can I get the uhmw adhesive it looks like you are using?
Grazie Ottimi lavori compliments... 🤗👏👏👏👏
hello. It is my second table saw with an 8mm thick saw blade that I use exclusively for grooving. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a video. thank you
Okay.
Tolong jelas kan lebih detail. Cara membuat atau pun itu. Indonesia. 🙏
How is the blade not cutting into the plexiglass?? I dont see a gap for it to pass through.
I set the saw blade height only 1mm higher. Then the acrylic cover won't cut.
@@carpentak won't it still cut 1mm into the acrylic?
1mm is no problem. A 3mm thick transparent tape is also attached to the acrylic.
🤔😉🤝👍🙋♂️
It's a plastic material here in Korea called acrylic.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Film o 8 minut za długi imo.
Do you sell the things you make?
I am not selling.
Sorry but I am not clairvoyant , maybe someday when your able to communicate I can enjoy the video ,till then adios
1970 called. Can they have their wristbands back please.
Yeah great jig but the personal safety on show is horrific . Does just about everything you should not do with a bench saw when cutting timber
Que buena manera de perder tiempo !! En cosas inútiles 😜😂😂😂😂
Terrible...
👍👍👍👍
