It’s not just about benching someone, it’s the fact that Pep plays mind games and doesn’t communicate. If he explained his decision to his army before or even after the game, the player has context. But he doesn’t and this hurts his relationships.

And the least but not last, the rotation of that Man City team in those seasons was weirdly wild especially in striker post, so if Gabby want to survive he need to be more versatille and patient. To be fair Gabriel had many chances to prove himself. When he 1st came to to city he actually benched aguero but Gabriel wasn’t the same since the injury. He lost his goal scoring touch and missed a lot of chances. He was supposed to be that star not Haaland but his levels dropped. I am a big gabby fan I followed him from Brazil to England. Pep did the best he could but gabby but needs to fix himself. Technically he’s one of the best but he needs to find himself he misses too much chances now!
