As recently as 2021, Motorola sales were dominating the Android market, and it's woes mostly stem from being purchased by Lenovo. But that doesn't mean the Motorola brand has collapsed. It just shows how powerful Lenovo is, as they also own and operate IBM's personal computer business after purchasing it more than a decade ago. Motorola would thrive, if only Lenovo would commit more resources to software updates for their Motorola smartphone business. Unfortunately, Lenovo sees Motorola as hindering the Lenovo brand, so they are trying to quietly downsize Motorola and fold it into the Lenovo umbrella. ☔

  • The pronunciation of "Razzer" is very distracting LOL, it has always been pronounced as "Razor" as in 'razor blade' which implies how thin as a razor blade the phone is. Probably the narrator was born before the Razr came out which is understandable, because in 2005-2007 everyone knew what the Razr was like it was like the iPhone 4.

  • When the 27OCT1989 earthquake happened, it was horrible. But my company had Motorola phones - walkie talkies * cell - not much cell in those days. Honestly, landlines kept us going, 3:14 but walkie talkies mode kept my company in business. Must seem weird to people today. It was a horribly difficult few days, the few months, and you can see videos on this on KZhead. People were killed,and much property was destroyed. But, we got through it, and are just waiting for the Hayward Fault quake, which may may will kill most of us.

    • Oh, each phone was walkie talkie + cell networks. There was not very much cell network. Only copper wire network worked. This is what is soon to be eliminated. For those of us who survived the 1989 earthquake, the cell phone network, and only the copper network worked.

  • You forgot to tell about the 2011 Motorola Atrix which was the first smartphone with a biometric sensor and also the first that had a desktop mode, had a powerful hardware for its time. Other iconic models: Rizr Z3, Z6, Rckr EM-35. Motorola isn't selling well in USA, but sells very well in Brazil, I have 2 phones (one Samsung and the other a Motorola), Motorola is a great brand with quality and great cost-benefit ratio.

  • The thing is Motorola is still around. I had a Moto G pure from 2021. It was a decent phone, but rather than spend 200 dollars on one of their new budget phones I got a OnePlus nord CE 2 5G for 400 bucks Canadian. Its a good midrange phone with 8GB of ram as opposed to the 3GB in the Moto. Moto makes decent budget phones but spend the extra money and you get a phone that doesn't lag at all.

Then about half way through, the proper pronunciation suddenly appears, only for it to then switch back and forth between the two. This is incredibly annoying, and makes this otherwise great video hard to watch. PLEASE re-upload it, with the audio corrected throughout! On the other hand, maybe it's comforting that an AI that sounds this perfect otherwise, still trips up over things so simple. Otherwise it would be creepy... 😱
