I'm a die-hard M&S fan and was looking for their first appearance without Winston. Sure, the band dynamic is different but both the banjo player and the lady on the electric guitar are flawless! They sound amazing, can't wait to see them again this summer!

is it just me or does this banjo player have a more natural bluegrassy tone to his banjo? I loved Winston but I gotta say I'm all for it especially in some of the old performances Winston had a distortion pedal or something on his banjo in performances of the cave and I gotta say I never really liked it
either way banjo player is killing it and played dobro as well for awake my soul!

Marcus’ voice sounds much kinder in Babel. From the self-titled interviews, he mentioned a lot of his songs were associated with shame. I might be reading too into this performance alone but this makes me happy.
Got the same impression. I'm only 10 minutes in, but he looks more relaxed, although I'd say a little more tired as well.
Love Mumford & sons but definitely miss Winston

Great to see them back on the road but,sad that it is without Winston . His voice is missed. Hat off to the guy who has taken on his place ,for he is a very lucky man to step into Winston's place. Hope you all have a great time playing together.

As excellent as they still are, Winston was a fan favorite and his energy and stage presence up there is sorely missed

Tearing up remembering the last time I saw them in Leeds 2019. Needed their return. They sound so great and you can tell Marcus has also missed playing Mumford songs.
Thanks for sharing - great to see them, though it's impossible to replace Winston.

I saw them live at Rock Werchter this year, it was the first festival I ever went too and I went for M&S mainly, I had this feeling of joy that lasted like 5 days after there performance, I like it better then the performance in this video

Sure, the dynamic of the group is slightly different without Winston, but Menefee rocks on the banjo just as much as Winston did. Love most everything they did here
What happened? I don't know the story
Winston read a book by an American named Andy Ngo who is a right-leaning journalist who covered a lot of Antifa protests. Winston has said in interviews he picked up the book randomly and had very little understanding of American politics, but people took Winstons praise of the book and made it seem like he was some right-wing lunatic. Then his band booted him without even trying to defend him against those insane accusations. @@user-pb9tq9ju9w

He was criticized for this on Twitter by left-leaning people, and he apologized for his post, which angered right-leaning people. He left the band shortly after to, and I paraphrase, "speak more freely and openly about political beliefs". It was his own choice.

They are pretty much coldplay without Winston. Winstons banjo skills made them authentic
Part of it is the stream itself. It didn't sound this way live -- it was slightly faster. Part of it is the backup band. The new trumpet player was struggling and you could hear it. Part of it is Winston's missing harmony. Part of it is the slower energy they seemed to have

I'm with you. I sure don't miss him. He's shows us who he is and I don't understand why people refuse to see this. We are supposed to grown and learn as we get older and he decides to do the opposite.🤮

It is me or has he lost his english accent when he sings, sounds more American and kinda ruined it for me. Nothing against Americans, just don't sound like they used too
