You know, if Harry did not exist then Voldemort would choose Longbottom as the chosen one.
But Neville fulfilled the prophecy as well. He killed Nagini. So there is no "If harry did not exist"-Thing, because Neville was also needed to bring Voldemort down. I think JK gave him a special kind of secret "chosen one" role.

the prophecy (in the book) said "the boy born on 13th july will ...". both harry and neville were born on that day.

Neville one of the most important character in Harry Potter Series. Most Innocent Guy. Neville save the Hogwarts in first year and last year
it is so messed up how neville was used to witness the cruciatis curse. but it’s barty crouch jr of course, he was the man put away in azkaban for doing exactly that; torturing his parents into mental instability, never to return to a normal state of mind.
This was imo one of the darkest and most sadistic moments of the books and at the time none of us realised how bad it was.
