  • Good video with one exception. Mark Eaton played for over 10 years, never got hurt and set an alltime shot blocks per game record. One season he averaged over 4.5 blocks per game, winning Defensive player of the year. With Utah he was very successful with Karl Malone and John Stockton. But they got edged out by Kareem(7'3 in shoes) and Magic. He was 7'4 about 290. He would get 10 blocks and 10 points on occasion.

    • Height alone does not make for a good center plenty of tall freaks could not play at all. It takes heart coordination and athleticism and brains a rare combination. The best centers have all been between 6 ft 9 and 7ft 2. any taller and they were mediocre at best with one or two exceptions. Over 7 ft 4 and they talent drops off sharply.

You also skipped 7'4" Rick Smitts....the Dutchman for the Pacers....I think Minute Bol still has the longest wingspan ever....Ralph Sampson also, might have been the most skilled Center, listed at 7'4"

  • Just FYI, Yasutaka Okayama, a 7-foot-8-inch Japanese basketball player picked 171st overall in the seventh round of the 1981 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, is the tallest player to ever be drafted for the NBA. But he never actually played during a NBA game or made a roster, so he doesn't count. He probably never left Japan.
