Thing is, when you switch from wheel to keyboard while the game is running it will turn the steering wheel instantly, like you saw in the video. If you restart the game without the wheel connected, the car will turn much slower, which enables you to drift just fine and makes for better control in corners.

4:05 I do it. It’s possible, but the trick is to feather the keys instead of holding them down. So you’ll see me pressing the brake key like 10x per second because it simulates a lighter push

Trick to AWD drifting you’ll want to get the drift differential and turn the ratio to 80% back 20% front gives you more drift control while being able to get super sideways because of the slight front wheel turn

When a controller or a wheel is connected and you're playing with a keyboard, the turning of the wheel is like super fast, but it's not supposed to be like that. In corners, that is very horrible, you lock up so easily. So you can only play properly with keyboard when a wheel/controller is not plugged in.

I'm the guy who's learning to drift, but only plays on controller, downloads other people's tune, and exclusively uses liveries from movies and tv. I have the AE86 and FC RX-7 from initial D, The drift king's RX-7 and Ryo Watanabe's EvoX from Need For Speed Pro Street, Sean's Evo9 from Tokyo Drift, etc

3:50 One way to fix this is by having a sensitive steering for keyboard option in the game. Mobile games have this option which make drifting a lot easier. Also mobile game has steering wheel control option. A great way to know mobile is better than keyboard.

As a keyboard player I can confirm the steering wheel doesn't turn like that, it's a lot more gradual so long as there's no controller or steering wheel setup conflicts.

It's very stupid to play on the keyboard, you can't dose the pedal, you either go fast or you don't go, also turning left and right is even more stupid, you can't turn gently, or go slowly with jumping gears and you enjoy it as if you were really driving. Usually, keyboard players are the most toxic in convoys, and get kicked out quickly because they can't drive constantly at the same cruising speed, so they make a mess and collide with other players. If you can afford a PC that runs Forza Horizon 5 then you might as well buy at least the cheapest controller.

FZ5 is only partially an arcade game with serious elements of simulation with the most realistic graphics, I have not played a race in that game for sure in the last 50-60 hours of playing, multiplayer convoy and driving in the open world simulated by real driving is unfathomable, and players on the keyboard never will not be able to drive in any other way than full throttle and full brake, there is no linear driving, only toxicity. For me, playing a game like FZ5 on a keyboard is a sin.

A little bit of everything, I like to have a collection of different cars and arrange and tune them, I like to drive fast but clean, I also often like to cruise at a moderate speed usually when I'm in a convoy, drift sometimes, drag rarely, mainly I'm not toxic in mulitplayer. I love this game, I love the beautiful graphics, amazing car sounds, game mechanics, buying and selling cars at auction, multipayer, everything.

The solo drag racing one is usually because of speed zones or trying to be better even if it is only by .1 mph. I make my own tunes, pretty good, but I can screw it up quite easily

4 types of drifters: It is ordered from easy to difficult, with 1 being the easiest and 4 being the most difficult. 1: the RWD drifter 2: the AWD drifter 3: the FWD drifter 4: the one who doesn't care about anything, it can literally drift with any car, from a car prepared for drift with special tires to a peel p50 with cardboard tires from the Chinese on the corner of your street with the offer of everything for 2 dollars (me :P)

The best drift cars are as follows Ae86 or short wheel base small cars Any mid engine car (the weird physics in Forza horizon car makes these things just damn near impossible to spin out ) Then I would say muscle cars are worse then the top two categories. This is subjective due to tuning but as for points drifting the top two are better then any muscle car. I have made just about every car in the game into a drift car at some point and the common thing I notice is short wheel base or mid/rear engine. My highest score on the volcano is 1.1 million going up hill so I think I have a decent amount of experience. I'm not the best but in open drifting lobbies I'm top 3 almost every single track. If you are looking for a sleeper drift car try the Porsche 356

Hey, I've been AWD point drifting for just over a year now and I would say I can drift quite smooth. My high score on the volcano is 1.16 million after patch.

AWD drift tip: don't countersteer, just countersteer if you are doing too much angle. Another thing is mostly it understeers so u add more angle, the reason is because the front tires pull the car forward and it causes it to straighten... I hop I helped some of u 😅

Drifting with rwd is more controllable, while awd has like it's own mind and it's pretty much the same as drifting with fwd. If you haven't drifted with rwd, awd might seem to be better, but for me ( who has drifted with rwd) rwd is more convinient.

I did a very weird thing with a ‘74 civic, I put the max upgrade v8 and 10 speed transmission and turned it into a drift monster and it is stupid how good it is, while on the other end of the spectrum, I made a 160 horsepower drift car using an Opel Kadett before.
AWD is a bit diffrent, when u get too much angle you have to countersteer and push the gas, dont take your foot from the gas otherwise you will spin soon

drifting 4wd is almost easier. you just have to remember that you need to throw the car almost 90degrees sideways and just put the gasspedal through the floor. its kinda hard to gain angle mid drift so thats why. but its also almost impossible to spin out so its a lot of fun IMO!

My type aint represented; it depends on the car but mostly you'll find me driving around the HMC on a route I've found works well without smashing thru the cones (so freeroam, but along the racetrack at Horizon Mexico) for making a setup for the car I'm driving atm to handle quite ok. Before that you'll see me testing the braking force using the dragstrip and suddenly I dissappear to the highway to set up higher gearing so car aint accelerating 'til revlimiter after 10 meters. So bit of a "trackday" driver, Speedboy and a little bit of a drifter (admit it, most of us like to drift, even if many of us just sucks at it).
