Francis Ngannou details working in the Sand Mines of Africa at Age 10 and why he always goes back

In this episode, I wanted to give you all a peek into what a typical day in the Sand Mines of Africa is like. I dive into why I worked at the Sand Mines from age 10 to age 17, and why every time I go back home, I stop at the Sand Mines for a day of work.

  • When people in the western world say that Francis was a fool to leave such amount of money on the table of contract, they don't know that what he has currently achieved is a success. They dont know the struggle he had as a child. crossing to Europe almost dead. Going to Jail in France before he found MMA. He already won in life. He is a champion not only in UFC but in life. A lot of UFC athletes may make money but are they champions in their life story? Being a Champion in life is not about money alone. It is looking back at where you are coming from and realise that God has blessed you. Francis is a winner whether he fights in any sports or not.

    • Francis has most likely made more money than most people in the west will ever make in their lives. He probably never has to work again, and he did all that coming from absolutely nothing. That fact alone should be commended and inspirational. That being said, leaving the UFC hoping to find bigger money elsewhere was a mistake. He won’t find bigger money outside of the UFC. So his decision to turn down the second biggest contract in UFC history, while brave, will result in him making less money and leaving a weaker legacy as a fighter. And if money and glory is not what he is seeking than good for him. He can retire with peace as one of the greatest UFC fighters ever. He doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone.

  • Great video. The difference between fighters and warriors is that nearly all fighters are built in the gym, but warriors are always created in the furnace of adversity. Francis is a true warrior, who's sacrifices for his family saw him endure many years of hardship, shame and ridicule. Only a true warrior can take these demons and forge them into becoming his spiritual armour and not his jailors. Once achieved, the warrior becomes the true master of the Arenas of life. All honour to Francis Ngannou.

Francis could've have bent and agreed respecting dana. but he chose not to. that's his call. it doesn't make him bad. he just doesn't want to be exploited by another human anymore. he's had enough of that all through his life. he's earned his freedom putting his life on the line, its not something he can easily giveaway in exchange for money.

They are really survivors since the begining of humanity..Very strong and resilient..Others peoples around the world like whites, arabes, chineses, indians think that they are superior than Africans..But they mistake..Africa is the Mother land of mankind of humanity....It because of the strongest of our Africans ancestors that alls peoples of the world are here today..The original People is Africa Mother of all humanity. Thank you Africa. You are blessed by God.

  • It's crazy how big Ngannou grew, considering he clearly didn't eat enough food as a child, if we was fully fed he would probably have originally reached more like 6'6". That sand mind work looks really hard, it's probably what built up Ngannou's muscles so much, because as you can see it's a lot of work with twisting your whole body, this translates into punching obviously. It's sad to hear about his childhood and the shame of being poor, so many kids suffer from this, and not even just in Africa, but even in places all over the world. He is correct also, a child thinking they are better because they happened to be born into a family that had more money is faulty thinking, since this child never achieved any of that themselves, they just got lucky by being born into that family. This is why I never look up to the British royal family members or any such people, since they never achieved anything and they just were born into a lucky situation. The most powerful people are those who started from 0 and made it to high levels in life, like Ngannou.

    • I came up with a saying a number of years ago, and I say this to people all the time as I feel it's a good point to make, I say to people ''You are no better then anyone else, you are simply better off then some''. Truly realising why you are where you are in life, and being grateful for the pat on the back life has given you, instead of the kick in the genitals that you could have been given, this outlook truly makes a difference on how you are as a person, and how you make your way through life :)
